Just left bullocks apparently blks are not welcomed as far as are music and the feeling of being accepted I was playing hip hop music for a short lived moment in there and was told by the manager that the owner does not want anything but Mexican music played in there establishment. I'm not the owner of that establishment so I can't argue with there request however I'm not going to spend money in a place where I don't feel welcomed I order a lemon drop it tasted like the cup used to mix it was dirty so I sent it back settled for a margarita that tasted like pure syrup I ordered food when it came I sent it back as all I wanted to do was pay for my drinks and leave the manager got in his feelings and said how about we do this just leave I said aye ok no problem. This is definitely a locals neighborhood Wateringhole type of bar. The drinks were strong and reasonably priced. The band was amazing and there is plenty of room on the dance floor. There's also a pool table. This is a very divey bar, so I'll keep that in mind. But it is a lot of fun if you want to dance and have a nice strong simple drink with a local regular crowd then this is a good place to visit. By the way, there isn't really service here. It's the type of place you need to order at the bar. I saw a lot of people eating chicken wings, but did not try them for myself, so I am not sure how they taste. I have been a loyal customer for years... and this place and staff has always been great to me. I have always had a great time, cheap drinks, good wings...they deserved another chance. A friend and I returned on Saturday night and it was the same great vibes. Although my previous experience sucked, this time they did not disappoint. The band was on point, and the staff was as wonderful as always. After so many years, I had never left a positive review so it was unfair to ding them so heavily on the ONE bad night that occurred. I am at Bullocks and I just witnessed a woman harassing another woman and the woman that was harassed was asked to leave. 7-9 customers saw that the girl being harassed did nothing wrong and they threw her out anyway. After explaining to the owner what we saw he was rude and disrespectful to me. I've been drinking at Bullocks on and off for years and still love the place. I like hanging out with a more diverse crowd and Bullocks is like that. I hadn't been in there for 6 months and the bartender came up and asked, "Alaskan Amber?" That's what I drank last time I was hear- I didn't even remember that!!! My buddy called ahead and ordered a large everything pizza- $9.50!!! I'm sure it was a weekend/happy hour price but it was outstanding! The staff is friendly and they work like a well oiled machine! I used to play country rock with a band there years ago. Now they have an excellent Salsa band- sign of the times.. I guess if a rowdy place on the 17 is your place, then you'd like this one. I was here for a gig ( a lot of my reviews seem to have that in them. What can I say? I'm pretty funny.) They have several TVs for your football needs. I was here on a Monday night and the crowd was pretty attentive to us comedians. A lot of support from the venue helped with that. Another dive bar. Except this is there first dive bar I've seen obvious drug addicts at. Gone in a few years back and saw that it was remodled, out side, and decided to try it again. Nothings changed inside. Wings are still good as remembered. Drinks were decently priced... Bartender couldn't remember our drinks when we asked for another round. Another bartender told us that she had the worst memory, uh, ok? She's a bartender though...aubergine only a dozen people sitting at the bar... There was a security guard that was seemingly strong arming a lady guest and being quite verbally aggressive also. Turned out it was his girlfriend and he's just an asshole. They hired a new bartender. It was his first night on Sat. If I remember correctly I think his name is David. Gosh, I'm probably totally wrong though. Anyway, he's tended at a couple different places. He made 1 damn good Jamaican 10 Speed. I dislike Malibu so I asked for Parrot Bay. Delicious. I hope he sticks around for a while. There was a late last call on Sat too. They were still serving right up till 2. They pretty much called last call at 1:50. So I think we got out of there around 2:15. Oh, & I finally spotted the juke box. I've walked right past it quite a few times. I think when I look around for the juke box I picture the ones from the 50-70's or so. I'm looking for big, tall, brightly lit, & maybe orange or yellow colored. I'm so spastic sometimes lol Restroom light was on again too :) Come any day of the week. It's always fun here. read more

Today is my first coming to Bullocks to celebrate my friend's 22nd birthday. We ordered the meatball sub (which was their Monday special for only $4) and a pepperoni and sausage pizza. The meatball sandwich was messy but it was very delicious. The pizza was also good. My favorite part was the ranch. The bartender told us they make it in house which is always nice. Popped in for a quick drink yesterday on our way to buy food for the pooches. Prices on par for a dive bar. It's hard to mess up a bottle of bud and a whisky/coke - and it was really slow while we were there - so I can't comment after one visit on the skill of the bartender(s). I saw a banner advertising Roscoe and Tim on Monday nights. That makes me flash back to my days at Chez Nous. And I think I may have to stop in sometime just for the auditory flashbacks! Funny thing about this town - 15 years later, and some things just don't change! I don't know that I'd add Bullocks to my regular drinking rotation - but will definitely keep it on the list for a place to drop in for a cocktail or two. read more

Friendly people, kickass band Friday & Saturday, equal parts all nationalities, ages 25 to 55, staff is first rate. May be labeled a "dive bar" but this has class with ironically no attitude and even less country. Why in hell that old name is still there I have no idea. This place really is GREAT! The band is fantastic, the volume just right, and the drinks were great too! If there are any former Nifty 50's customers, make it a priority to come to this place. They play everything from oldies, contemporary..etc..you name they know. If they don't know it, hum a few bars, and they will get it. No excuses, no fuss, no muss. The dance floor is alittle small, but that does not detrack from the atmosphere. The keyboard player is also the DJ! They were playing Earth Wind, and Fire, and as the band came back from break, they faded out the record, but picked up the tune themselves, and everyone applauded at the end. A friend invited me to Monday night "steak and fixins@ Bullocks " you have to get there by 7 the owner Jim gets everyone's order table by table and prepares them over a open flame behind the smokers section in the patio and delivers them in the same order that he takes the order personally. Now onto the steak you can order either six ounce or fourteen ounce rib eye running you $6.00 or $12.00 with the charbroiled steak you get a side of corn, cowboy beans and a dinner roll and all you can eat salad with either choice of ranch or Italian dressing. I'd say it's a nice value. The bartender Heather is very nice and attentive she serves up a ice cold beer and knows how make a good cocktail. Not in the best part of town Jim and his staff make up on Ton on that issue because of their collective service.
