I brought my wife here for brunch on Mother's Day and a friend of ours joined us as well. It was a nice looking establishment. Right on Camelback, in a little nook of a building with a book store/coffee shop attached. We entered and were seated immediately. If you read any of my previous reviews, you'll know that my wife loves oysters. Per usual, that where we started. We got the oyster and a bottle of prosecco. A few mimosas to start the day. My friend arrived almost exactly when the oysters and bottle came out. We chatted and perused the menu. We were in no rush as we drank through the first bottle. My wife got the pizza that was on the menu. I forgot what they called it, but it was good. Nice crust, a savory sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. My friend ordered avocado toast I believe or something very similar. She's a psycho path that runs 20 miles every morning so she was ready to take in carbs. She tore through it like a starving cheetah tears through a gazelle. I had an omelette which was pretty good, but nothing that knock me out of my seat. It could have used a bit of seasoning but in all decent. We ordered a second bottle and that is when their DJ began playing music. He played soft jazz which definitely was not the vibe we were looking for. None of the aforementioned mention brought this rating down to a three star review. It was all 4 star worthy accept the service was not great. Far from it actually. Don't worry I still tipped 20% as I feel it's a bare minimum, but he didn't deserve it. As I stated we were seated immediately, but it took our server nearly 15 minutes to even acknowledge us. I didn't know who it would be, but when he finally did all I could think is that he passed our table numerous times prior to stopping. Once he did there was a serious "I do not want to be here" vibe in his body language and tone. My friend who didn't arrive till the oysters and bottle were served missed that initial interaction but immediately noticed it. She an A type and wanted to complain to the manager. I got her to let it go. I know every has there days and this might have been his. Through out our stay here, he rarely checked in on us. As a matter of fact I believe we drank through each bottle before he checked in. This is the sole reason my rating went from a 4 to a 3. I hope the guy was ok, but I wish it could have been something he didn't bring to work with him. No pictures again. Sorry... It's an interesting restaurant - so many dishes on the menu are inspired by different cuisines. I was a bit confused when I first saw the menu and didn't know what to order. I decided to go with the fish katsu sandwich, which was really good. The fish was crispy but not oily. The sauce and veggies balanced the sandwich well. The appetizers were good too. I had the cabbage, white sweet potatoes, and eggplant - everything was delicious. Seems like they like to bake/grill the food and then add sauces, which is a smart move because you can feel the texture of different ingredients coming together. The service was also good. First of all, this place is tucked into a tiny little plaza, and finding the door felt like unlocking a hidden level in a video game. There's also a Changing Hands bookstore right there, which I did NOT expect, but fully appreciated. Bonus points for the private parking lot because I was in full "grab food and disappear" mode. Let me set the scene: I rolled up looking like I had just survived a swim lesson in 2003. Sweatpants, questionable hair, zero regard for society. And you know what? Still had a totally smooth, easy pickup experience. So if you're like me, go anyway. If you know people in the area... maybe brush your hair first. Now, the food. Grilled cabbage: What in the actual magic is this? I did not know cabbage could taste like this. It was charred, slightly crisp but still had bite, layered atop a creamy yellow sauce (I NEED to know what that is), plus something with a little heat (Harrisa?), like not spicy, just a warm background kick, and crispy bits that might've been garlic or onions. There were so many flavors happening I literally had to pause and process my life. Even after sitting in the box for a bit, it held up. I devoured it. Would 100% order again without hesitation. Lamb kofta: Okay, honesty moment, I do not usualy eat the meats and I get weird about doneness. These were dense, juicy, and packed with flavor, but a little too pink/soft/squishy for my personal comfort at first. That said, once I gave them a quick air fryer moment, they were delicious. Flavor-wise? Incredible. Dressing the pita with everythung gave this warm, almost ginger-like heat (I think from the peppers?) that hits just right. The pepperoncinis could not have been your average jar situation, something different about them. Would it be my first pick next time? Probably not. But was it good? Absolutely. Greek salad (small): Perfectly balanced. Like, every bite just worked. Olives, dates, goat cheese, farro, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, nothing overpowering, everything in harmony. The dressing leaned a little tangy, almost vinegar-forward, but it balanced beautifully with the creaminess of the goat cheese and those little hits of sweetness from the dates. And the dates weren't like "oh, here's a date," it was more like "wait... was that a date? thank you." Also held up beautifully overnight in the fridge, no soggy sadness. It felt more like a really well-done side than a full meal, I was genuinely impressed. Overall: I went in expecting "quick pickup dinner" and ended up having a full sensory experience with cabbage as the star of the show (never thought I'd say that in my life). I recently visited Tesota with my girls and had a bit of a mixed experience. The location is great it's right on a busy street and conveniently next to a bookstore, which makes it an easy place to stop by. Parking in the restaurant's lot is pretty limited, but there is an overflow lot across the street which helps. The atmosphere inside was relaxing and comfortable, which I appreciated. The service was friendly as well. Our waiter was very nice, although service overall was a little slow. It seemed like they may have been short-staffed, and our waiter was also taking care of a large party at the same time, so that may have played a role. Foodwise, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The pancake was very large, which could be great, but it arrived warm on the close side of Luke warm, rather than hot. I think it would've been much better if it had been brought out right when it was finished. The bacon was a bit inconsistent too some pieces were cooked perfectly while others were undercooked, almost as if they came from two different batches. Overall, the experience just wasn't my personal favorite, so I probably wouldn't return. That said, the location and atmosphere are nice, and others might have a better experience than I did. With a few adjustments especially getting the food out hot and keeping the cooking consistent it could easily be a much stronger visit. read more

Friends and I visited this location on Saturday, February 28, a little after 11 AM. The scenery is very nice, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. Eric provided excellent service -- he was kind, attentive, and very helpful with drink selections and menu recommendations. They offer happy hour every day from 2 PM to 6 PM with both food and drink specials. That's definitely the best time to visit if you're looking to save and enjoy some great deals. On average, a meal with a drink ranges from about $20-$30 or more depending on what you order. We ordered the classic cheeseburger (well done) with wedge fries, the crispy fish sandwich with wedge fries, and the butter pecan pancake served with a side of bacon and a coffee drink. The drink I had that was very good was called newton's fig. Overall, the food and drinks were very good and flavorful. A small tip for future visitors: you may want to request the wedge fries cooked less crispy, as ours were a bit too hard to fully enjoy. Also, make sure the bacon is cooked thoroughly, as some pieces were slightly undercooked. The pancake was 1 big size maybe would be better to to have 2 pancakes per order w: 1 side included. In addition; to make sure all food is brought out hot not warm because all our food was just warm. The restaurant is conveniently located in our plaza and offers both a main parking lot and overflow parking across the street. There are also other nearby stores to enjoy, including a bookstore and a breakfast spot right next door. Our waitress didn't engage with us much at all. Spent a LOT of time at a table of three men. Didn't refill drinks until we flagged her down long after they were empty. Had to stop her to ask if we could order our meals. Had to flag her down to order dessert after her not being at the table over 30 minutes for even a check in! Neglected to put in one person's order and she didn't receive it until after we had all finished! Never followed up-too busy with other table chatting. Paid in cash and asked for change-she already received 20%! 20 minutes passed and I flagged her down to remind her I needed my change. It was just under $3. She returned 10 minutes later with all COINS instead of bills. Passive aggressive! We will never return! She could have done so much better but why if she's compensated regardless of good service or not. We were there THREE hours because of her lack of engagement. Just sad. read more

I asked them to pick my food so I could still catch the deal, and wow... they understood the assignment. I had an absolutely lovely experience at Tesota and would go back anytime! The service was so great. Our waiter was really funny and patient with us as my friend and I were there to catch up and yap. The food was really fresh and flavorful! While the ceviche ended up being the tomato kind that I don't love, it was still really good. My friend's salad with salmon was phenomenal. The flapjack was everything I want in a classic pancake.. definitely better than my homemade ones and absolutely worth ordering out. They are located right next to the Changing Hands Bookstore. Wifey and I stopped by with some family for brunch around 12pm and were seated right away. Inside, they have a modern artsy eclectic vibe and have a very spacious setup. For their menu, they have a solid selection of different appetizers, salads, pizzas, burgers, seafood, pancakes, and more! I opted to get the A5 Wagyu Cheeseburger and was also able to try bites of the Dutch Baby Banana Fosters Pancakes, Baked Brie, White Sweet Potatoes, and the Fresh Oysters. Everything was delicious with pretty generous portions. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. All of the staff are very friendly and attentive. We got the bread and spread, which came with 3 types of spread: edamame, hummus, and white bean. My favorite was the edamame spread as it had the most interesting flavors. I got the Newton's Fig cocktail, which has fig vodka, rhubarb liquor, Madagascar vanilla, lemon, and citrus tonic. The drink was refreshing, but I couldn't really taste the fig flavor. For my meal, I got the katsu sandwich, which I thought was pretty good. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and the food. I liked the fusion concept, as many dishes sounded interesting. Yelp has an uncanny way of guiding me when I travel, and while I was in Arizona, its recommendations were spot on every single time. Out of all the places it suggested, this restaurant stood out as the very best. Even my shaman, who I was visiting, was amazed when I brought her here and realized it was just minutes from her home. The experience was so good the first night that I came back again the very next day, knowing I'd soon be returning to St. Louis and wouldn't have another chance. The food here was nothing short of amazing, and the drinks? Exceptional. At one point, I nearly left without ordering the cake I had my heart set on. Thankfully, she came back, remembered, and got it to me--though it took longer than expected. To her credit, she acknowledged the delay and even offered to cover the cost of the cake. That gesture showed accountability and care, which I appreciated. Even with the hiccups in service, the ambiance carried the experience. The space has an easy, inviting vibe that makes waiting feel less stressful--you can just relax, enjoy the music, and soak in the energy. The happy hour is a highlight too. The vegetable dishes in particular were absolutely delectable--so much so that I could've been satisfied eating just those. The restaurant also has a charming outdoor area, complete with cooling water sprays to make it comfortable even in Arizona's heat. Great experience here last Monday night. They have one of the nicest bartenders in the valley, his names ethan I believe, super cool and extremely friendly. Had the hummus, harissa shrimp and one other app I forget what is was tho... appetizers were bomb. Unfortunate I let my date order an entree and she doesn't know food lol so she got the margarita pizza I was like... wtf woman lol it was fine but who would order a pizza at this place... Highly recommend. Only shitty thing is they don't take Apple Pay!? Wtf...
