Yesterday I had service at my house to treat for bugs. I have fire ant mounds in the yard that were particularly concerning. I had used Bulwark once in the past years ago. Efraen Garcia was my service technician yesterday. He did such a thorough job. He removed many wasps nests in the eaves and treated the entire inside of the house as well. This morning I checked on the ant mounds and there is no activity. I couldn't ask for a friendlier or more knowledgeable service tech. 5 stars is an easy choice!! We have been having issues with sugar ants for some time. I have heeded to the fact that they never will never go away and that all you can do is maintian a good barrier of defense. I called Bulwark Exterminating last year when the sugar ant problem flared up. Since then there hasn't been a problem, until recently. I called Bulwark out and was greeted by Efraen Garcia. He was very friendly, I pointed out the problem areas and not only did he spray those areas but other areas as well that he saw could be problems in the future. I really appreciate that as these sugar ants are smart little suckers and find any little nook and cranny they can to get to my kitchen. I defintely recommend Bulwark! read more

I am on a quarterly plan with Bulwark, but missed the guy when he came a few weeks ago so was only able to get the outside done. Lots of scorpions inside! The service itself seems very good, by service I mean the chemicals or spray they use. But other aspects are not so good. When my boyfriend and I first moved into this unit we had so many ant and roach problems. Since they came out we've seen very little problems. When we do see a roach, it's dead already or is dieing at the time. However, the reasons for only 3 stars are the receptionists and the fact they always push more service on you (not the receptionists). First, the service part. We're on our second contract with this company. The first time I tell them I don't feel we need someone out every other month or even every 3 months. Honestly, between the weather at times, maybe the area here and their sprays we really only need someone to come out 2 times a year maybe. But I'm always told they won't do that. And then pushed to have an actual contract. I don't like that. I should be able to have the service at a decent price when I need it, not when someone who doesn't even live in this place says I need it. Second, the receptionists. As I said were on our second contract, why? Financial reasons. The first contract we had them come out a couple times then when they wanted to come out for the third time, it just wasn't in the budget at the time. So I called and told them to put our service on hold for awhile. Someone came out anyway while I was gone and I found a bill on the door. Unhappily I called and asked what happened. I got an apology and wasn't charged and was told my service would be put on hold until I called back. A month later we started getting calls for the service and I kept saying our account was on hold. Finally I stopped answering until I got tired of the calls then I said cancel the account. Unfortunately later on when we needed another application, I looked around and a lot of places won't come out unless we own the property but were renting currently. We needed someone and so I thought I'd give Bulwark another try. Called, same crap about service, forced into a contract, guy comes out once, sprays and lectures me on why they should come out more that what I had even signed up for. Again when it was time for them to come we just didn't have the money on hand (certain times of the year are harder for us lately). I taked to a receptionist again and said we can't afford it right now, SHE said (her idea) to put account on hold for a couple months and see where we are. I said sounds good. That was yesterday....someone just knocked on my door for the service. Really? What do the receptionists do? Certainly not their jobs. This is the second time this has happened, luckily I was home to catch this one. We're seriously considering just canceling again and saying screw it, we'll just buy crap from the store and deal if we have to at this point. read more

Bulwark is pretty good. They are usually really good at scheduling and they have plenty of techs in the area. The reason I'm not giving them 4 stars is that I have had to call them back twice to take care of cockroaches and they are still not dying. I'm still under warranty so they've come again at no charge. I think some of their techs can be less than thorough, but my last tech, Brad Blake, was very thorough and helpful so hopefully it takes care of my issue once and for all. read more

Absolutely THE WORST. Failed to take care of the original problem (Carpenter Ants). One technician or customer service representative had no knowledge of what had come before. After locating the nest myself, I was told I was "wrong". Contractors never arrived at the time specified -- sometimes hours early, sometimes late. Never any call. A man named, I believe Bruce, identified himself as a supervisor, cancelled my account, promised me no my fees, refunded me my money and told me if I ever decide to give them another shot that my first service would be free. I was going to leave it at that without leaving a negative review, but I am now receiving phone calls telling me my service is only on "hold" and threatening early termination fees for ending the service after the first year. Bulwark have been unprofessional, through and through, have never solved my problem AND ARE NOW THREATENING ME WITH FINES. Rest assured, if they fine me, I will be contesting the charge and reporting them to both the better business bureau and Texas Attorney General's office. Orkin took care of the problem the first time, and confirmed the nest I had located that Bulwark were never able do. DO NOT CALL BULWARK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I'm sure they'll have a follow-up "We tried to resolve" follow-up here. They didn't. They tried to fine me on the service they agreed to cancel. That was their resolution. Extremely disappointed with our service. We asked them to come out one time for a specific purpose and approved this charge. The service did not work so we had them come out to respray. Last week, we were charged another service fee for an outside spray (we didn't even know this was happening and weren't notified, we only knew after seeing the charge on our credit card). When we called to see what the charge was for, we were told we had been enrolled in a yearly service agreement for exterior service at $85 every other month! We wanted to cancel, especially since the first service and resprays didn't work, but were told we couldn't; instead, they "would call us" every other month for the next year for us to waive the service. We also weren't refunded for the service we didn't even know to expect. Very frustrating, especially because out of the three times we've complained the spray didn't work and asked for a respray, we confirmed each and every time about fees and were consistently told we would not be charged again at all because we were under warranty. The staff is very nice but the product and billing services are entirely ineffective and disappointing. I also feel like we were duped into a yearly service we were not aware of and did not ask for. Would absolutely not recommend. read more

Jason Gillia - serviced my home today on Thursday, September 22. He was extremely professional, listened to my concerns and with a smile stated that he would take care of the problems. Before he began his service, he asked if there were any other problems that I was experiencing. I needed both interior and exterior service this month. I appreciated Jason removing his shoes without being asked to do so. He was very careful in treating the interior areas and did not leave any residual spray on floors or windows. I especially appreciated how he dealt with my ant and wasp problems. After the service, he returned to explain that he had taken care of the problems we discussed. He also wanted to make sure there was nothing else needed before departing. Overall, I have had very good technicians over the years of using Bulwark. I know they invest the time to train and support their employees which shows in how they treat their customers. My experience with Jason was very positive today. read more

I moved into a new house which had some ants present, and wanted to get it taken care of. Ended up playing phone tag with Bulwark for a few days (my own fault - busy at work, they tried to contact me at least once a day). I finally got a hold of them on a day I had to wait for my internet company to come fix service issues, which ended up burning an entire day away from work. They couldn't get someone out there that afternoon, but did book me a Saturday appointment so I wouldn't have to worry about missing any additional days from work. Really appreciated that. Anthony Rivera was my tech - very nice guy who made sure to ask where my priorities were, started there, then did the whole round-the-house start-up treatment. He was pleasant, quick, thorough, and professional. Time will tell if the ants are gone, but I'm confident that Anthony will be available if we need more treatments and that he did what he needed to do to take a first shot at getting rid of them! read more

This is the first time I've ever had pest control service so I don't have anything to compare them to. The service started out great at the beginning and about 10 months in I started having issues with the tech not showing up or not showing up in the window that we were given, which was especially frustrating when I needed him to spray inside the house. Then I couldn't get him back out for another few days. I almost cancelled my service and switched providers. Suddenly a new tech, Sylvia, showed up at my house for a special call for fire ants invading my kitchen. She mentioned my old tech is no longer with the company. She was a little early but got started outside to find where they were getting in and waited for me to get home (10 mins) to spray inside. She left her cell phone number with me and told me to call if I continue to have problems but that it should be taken care of. She came by a week later for my regular bi-monthly service and called to check in because I wasn't home when she arrived on time. Because of her I'm going to stay with Bulwark and give them another chance. My only complaint still is that if you call for a follow up in between regular service it can sometimes take several days for them to get to you. I was killing at least 30+ fire ants in my kitchen every day for 5 days while I waited for my appointment. I was so frustrated, especially because I have a baby crawling around and I had to be cautious. When you have fire ants in your house or anything else really, you don't want to wait that long. read more

People who work on this site does not do a decent job at all. Here is the story. We use their service for years. They send the bills to our home and we pay for them. No problem. Once we bought a investment house and asked them to treat it. They did it but they sent the bill to the investment house. They had our home address on file. But they did not do the right thing. We did not receive the bill at all. A few month later, they called us and we told them the correct address. We asked them to send us the bill ASAP so that we could pay for it. But we never received the bill. Yesterday, they put the bill into collection. My wife called them again asking them to email us the bill so that we could pay for it immediately. They did not do it. They just sent another bill to us. God knows where they sent the bill to. What a joke. They are so dumb and impotent and we ended up paying for the damage. I will go to their office and pay them cash and end the relationship with these bozos forever. read more

Bulwark has been very up to par on my pest control! I've never had a time where I needed them to come out and they've not! On top of that they come to treat my house on my schedule and not on their schedule, what company does that now a day? NONE, except for Bulwark! Mason Tubb (I hope I spelled his last name right :D) was my exterminator a week and 1/2 ago and was very thorough to where my problems were. Granted he did failed to come out as scheduled but he did call me to ask if it was ok if he were to come by later and not just tell me that he's NOT going to come until later, he asked! When he arrived he treated in and out like I've requested and targeted areas I've asked him to do. I couldn't ask for more out of him! Thank you Mason for coming out! I'd recommend anyone to go w/Bulwark to treat their house!!! They schedule around you and will always call ahead to confirm their appointment time one week ahead of time and won't force you to do a treatment if you think you don't need it in the winter, no contracts and no ridiculous commitments, who doesn't want that?!?!? We signed with Bulwark on Satuday, and today Efrain Garcia came out for our first treatment. We have those little black grasshopper/cricket things and MICE! Efrain set traps in all the places we saw the mice was going, treated the outside while I was on my way (I was late!) and even got to know me a little asking how long my husband and I have been married (just over a month) and seeming genuinely interested in how we met and our little story. Ricky Good came by today to do the normal monthly check in and also address a sugar ant problem that's come up recently. I really appreciated Ricky walking through everything he was doing - what pesticides he was using, why, and where - as it helps me understand how to prevent them next time. He also addressed a spider problem I didn't know I had until I told him about one little spider that was crawling around - he went to the corner of the room and immediately found several more that I didn't even know were there.
