Awesome! Wanted to find something outside of the norm, and came across Bumblebees on yelp. Wasn't disappointed! Had the Mr. Kim and it was great. The kimchi combination with a burger was a pleasant surprise! The sweet potato fries were a nice break from the typical fries. The rest of the family tried the katsu and the KP-spicy sandwich. This food will blow your mind! Crispy fries, marinated meat, and Korean sauce to top and I ate it all. A Philly style melt sandwich with a gnarly Korean twist and yeah, I ate all that too! So, I've been to this place multiple times now and it's time for a review. I've tried pretty much everything on the K-town side of the menu and nothing on the A-town side. I have no need for the "American" only side with food so good on the other. A#1: K-pop fries with bulgolgi. It's been hard even trying anything else because these are so good. Such an awesome combination of fries (done the RIGHT way, too. fresh cut), cheese, spices and the meat is just too good. You'll be tempted to get one to share for the table but you need at least 2 (even if you only have 2 people). Now, let's talk about kimchi fried rice balls. I've always been very skeptical of kimchi. Who wouldn't, ammiright? So, I figured that trying it in a fried rice ball would be a good introduction. I was right. Having tried it elsewhere on the menu, I think I will stick to it on the rice balls. Kimchi is just a bit outside of my idea of "good" but it really is good in the ball. The curry fried rice balls are great for anyone that like curry. The Mr. Kim is okay. As eluded too, for me, the kimchi was just too much. Not too much in the sense that it ruined the burger but I would have enjoyed it more with out it. The tacos are much better than I expected them to be. The staff is very friendly & engaging from the moment I stepped inside this place. They were eager to explain anything on or about the menu I had questions about. My expectations were not set high on the bbq for the simply reason was this was an infusion of Korean delicacy. I ordered the Chopped Brisket Sandwich with french fries. I expected the meat to be finely chopped but instead it's chopped into cubes. The taste of the brisket was average at best. Again, my expectations were set on low so I was not disappointed or surprised. The french fries were on point though! I will go again but will try the american side of the menu. They seem to have at least a couple of burgers I will try. They gave out samples to all the customers of their potato salad & cole slaw. I really like the cole slaw! Bumblebee's is a really cool spot and, despite being a travel fiend, I can tell you that I've never been anywhere quite like it. The combination of good online reviews and curiosity (I mean, Korean fusion? Sold!) led a friend and me in one late afternoon. I'm not a native to SLC, so I don't know if the surrounding area is actually not great or if it just seemed that way. Ultimately though, we were safe, our car was safe, and everything was 100% fine in that regard, even if the surrounding neighborhood was a bit run down. Once inside, Bumblebee's reminds me of an old town favorite BBQ spot, which I suppose is really what it is. We ordered a number of things off the menu and each was better than the last. You seriously can't go wrong. If I ever find myself in SLC again, I will definitely pop into Bumblebee's for another round. Excellent food! read more

Great food, great prices, great service - Bumblebee's is the total package. Definitely a place for a regular visit. The all-American menu is full of great burgers & fries, and the fusion menu adds a Korean twist. You can tell they put a lot of thought into each ingredient, from the buns to the beef - they're all a step above your standard burger joint. Great seasoning on the fries, too. I got the Mr. Kim (kimchi burger) and fell in love. I've never had Korean fusion before, and this pretty much blew my mind. There's so much going on with it, but it's all perfectly balanced. I'll for sure get it again...but not next time, cause there's so much more on the menu I want to try. The staff was very friendly & helpful, the decor is nice, and it's a very clean restaurant. The bulgogi sandwich is my favorite but I definitely recommend trying a bunch of things as the menu is very interesting. You can also get the bulgogi in taco for as well which is great. The setting and atmosphere is: 1970's no-frills burger joint sit-down. Think Astro-Burger for the setting and you're there. I'm not sure how long Bumblebee's has been here. The location is tucked away, just past the TRAX overpass on State Street by a bowling alley. We drove right past the first time, had to make a U-turn. There used to be some forgettable hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant here, if I remember right. They apparently had to completely gut the place, and it's still very modest, but the men's room was sparkling clean. That's how you know it's clean, kids. Those K-Pop Fries, though! Came Bumblebee's last night with a buddy and we each ordered a burger and split an order of the aforementioned K-Pop fries. They were so.good. The restaurant is cute, the menu is huge and includes descriptions of each item in a font so small that my 30 year-old eyeballs couldn't make it out. My burger was strictly okay. The bun was very heavily floured, causing each bite to become a little bit pasty in my mouth, which was sort of unpleasant. However, I'll come back for the fries. They were cooked to perfection, then drizzled with fry sauce (I think) and sriracha, and topped off with a heaping portion of bulgogi. Yum. Even though Bumblebee's BBQ & Grill is located on a very busy corner, it was easy to access and there was plenty of parking available. The way I found this place was an article featuring The best wing spot in every state. I love wings and I am a sucker for traditional spicy buffalo wings. That said, the Yangstar wings very well may be the best wings I've ever had. Although not traditional, they provide a fantastic blend of sweet, tang, and spice. They are perfectly crisp and have plenty of sauce. Other things I have tried: The Mr Kim burger is a fantastic take on an American classic. Be prepared to use a fork as it does get messy. You can't go wrong with the kpop fries with bulgogi beef. Perfect level of spice mixed with savory that creates a melt in your mouth experience. Curry fried rice balls are packed with flavor. The onion rings have a tempura like batter that is quite different from your standard ring but is incredibly delicious. There is a reason why the ratings are high. Decided to hit up Bumblebees because it's drastically different from the typical Utah chains and a fusion of American and Korean fare. I wouldn't say the place is divey as everything is super clean. I'd say the place features older tables that reminded me of a mid 90s Dairy Queen. Overall their food an menu reminded me of a step above typical food truck food. Plus their cashier was super friendly and helpful! But let's jump to the food! I chose the mr Kim combo (Burger w/ Kimchi, cheese, onions fried egg, tomatoes, lettuce, jalapeño mayo, and sriracha) which comes with your choice of side. Overall thought the burger meat was seasoned and cooked well. The bun wasn't your typical white bread, but was an perfectly light ciabatta bread that was sweet. The combination of the flavored made for all around tasty meal. The thing that left me frustrated was that because of the lightness of the bun, the kimchi and sauces made it soggy and fall apart after 2 bites. I then had to eat it with a fork. A wrapped burger could help prevent this. That said, I don't know if I would seek out a trip just for Bumblebees, but would seriously consider it if I was in the area. read more
