Have been to Bumblebees KBBQ a few times. The first time we went to their street food weeknight. We had such a great time, but too bad those items are not on their normal menu. We've been back since, to try their bingsoo, and K-Pop fries. The bingsoo was good. Red bean one was made with red bean puree. The puree was just the right sweetness. My friend tried the mango bingsoo. The mango was a bit sour, so it wasn't as good as we hope it would be. As for the K-Pop fries, you can pick beef, pork or chicken. We order the beef bulgogi version. The fries was cooked and salted ok, I wish that they were crispier. The fries was topped with green onion & a mayonaise type sauce. You also have the option to have Siracha sauce added to it. The portion was way too big for one person to eat. The sauce was on the heavy side, so it was way too much food for either of us. Overall, the food was a little underwhelming. Parking was not the best. However, I think this place has potential, so I'll be back to try other menu items. read more

In the mood for something different we sent our son here for take out. Ordering online was easy, the food was hot and ready and you can make lots of changes or add notes when you order. We chose the bulgogi fries for sure and the reviews were right, so delicious, great ratio of meat and cheese. We are Canadian so to us this was like a fusion poutine! The curry balls had just the perfect heat and good texture. Finally the double fried wings in Korean bbq sauce were also excellent. I don't like giving poor reviews to indie restaurants. But, today Bumblebee has earned one. My special lady friend found a hair in her rice dish. Not great, but when she returned to the counter to ask for a refund, the chef ignored her request and offered to make her something. She asked for a different dish (same price). When it arrived, she noticed they had left out the meat. Being regulars, or at least repeat customers, I would have thought we might deserve better. In fact, being a cook myself, I can't imagine treating any paying guest so shabbily. Strong not recommend. Addendum The chef responded promptly and courteously to my review. Apparently the missing protein was an honest response to my SLF not wanting a sweet entree. Fair enough. We can chalk this up to an off day. In general we've had positive experiences here. Redemption is sweet. A few months ago, my husband and I tried one of the other Bumbleebees KBBQ in SLC. It was good but it didn't live up the expectations we had set based off the reviews we had read on Yelp. We have been hesitant to try this location for those reasons but, we decided to give it a redemption run the other day with some of our co-workers. We were all so impressed with everything from the decor to the service. Bumblebees was clean and the service was kind and quick. To top it all off, the tacos and the KPOP Fries were out of this world. There were three orders of the KPOP fries at our table. We were the only ones to substitute regular fries for sweet potato fries (game changer). , However, no matter the type of fry, everyone couldn't stop raving about how good they were. The ambiance was also cleaner and fresher than the other location we tried. Very cool decor, here. I only give it 4 stars for two reasons: 1- Not really any healthy options. The food is DELICIOUS! So many ingredients balanced into one dish - I dig the K-noodles with sweet pork so much! Not a fan of green peppers, but in this I barely noticed them and still give the dish 5-stars. But this place is a dump. Filthy. Behind the counter is messy with piles of stuff everywhere and strewn about. Food splatters on the kitchen wall. Edges of the floor are cracked with grime stuck around the corners. The tables and chairs aren't bad, they seem new, but everywhere else is old and gross. Washing my hands in the bathroom didn't leave me feeling clean because it's mucky in there, too. My hope is that someone will come through with a magic wand and get this place cleaned up. If it's a newer restaurant, the landlord should be ashamed they handed it over to the new tenants in such filthy conditions. read more

Bumblebees is some solid KBBQ if you have a hankering for breaking the norm. Here's what they do well: 1) menu. They offer a variety of fusion items from traditional American to Korean and everything in between. I also love the shorter/simpler menu. They don't try to do it all, but do what they do right. 2) food quality. I had the beef bulgogi fries and they were on point! Glad the server recommended it. I've had some legit bulgogi in my day, and this actually measures up. 3) service. The service was quick, but they didn't compromise quality. It was great. Would love to have seen some types of specials. While the food wasn't overpriced, I felt like it needed a bit more to hold its value. My friend ordered a sandwich for $7ish, and it didn't come with any sides. Would love to have seen a little more bang for the buck. read more

It was a good amount of food and I loved it all the way to the last bite. I took my order to go so I wasn't there super long, but I didn't see any other customers while I was there, even though it was right at noon when a lot of people probably eat lunch. Been here a few times and the food always comes out on point. The fries are such a fantastic mix of Korean and American beats--my only wish is some gochujang or sriracha on the table if you want to make it spicier (I always want everything spicier and hotter than I can find in Utah). The mandu potstickers were so freshly fried and well seasoned I could have eaten two orders of them. Whenever I'm close to Provo I'm always thinking about how I can get to this place because there is zero Korean, let alone fusion, in north Utah Valley and it's sad. Fun, small little korean\American joint in the heart of Provo. Overall I was satisfied with my experience here. The Kpop fries were hearty, well portioned, and delish. The Booldaak sandwich was also quite large, flavorful, and well made. Price wise, while it is not expensive for what you get, it is certainly not a bargain. Expect to pay around $20-$30 for you and a date when all is said and done. All in all, worth a visit. read more

In town visiting and took a gamble on this new restaurant. We're glad we took the gamble, the food was excellent. My wife and son both got different burgers. The buns were soft and delicious. And the burger meat was phenomenal. I had their spicy pork k-pop fries. It was like nachos, but with fries, sauces, "spicy" Korean pork and light scallions. It was a fusion of flavors I had never tried and it was really good! And if you're nervous over whether it will be too spicy...it's not. There was a slight kick to it, but it was definitely on the light side of spicy. By the end I'd forgotten it was "spicy." I think one of the things I liked most about the menu is that there was something for everyone. There is an "American" section for the unadventurous. There's the Korean menu to placate those that go for true Korean food. And then there's the fusion side of things which I'm told is their best seller. Ambiance was nice, simple, open, light and clean. My ONLY complaint about this place is their weak, but typical selection of sodas. There were probably six flavors of Coke products. So far, I have only tried the KPOP fries. I keep coming back for them. They're so saucy, but the fries themselves are crispy. Their bulgogi is very tender and nicely seasoned. I really need to come back and try the rice burgers. It seems like they have a good rewards program that I need to get on top of. Oh! and the bingsoo is yummmmmmmmy. So much better than those disgusting shave ice trucks littering every corner :( read more

Headed home from Park City, we heard about this place on Good Morning Utah and stopped by to check it out. Glad we did; we ordered the bibimbop, K-Pop Fries with spicy chicken, Kim Chi Fried Rice Balls, pork Potstickers and fried chicken. I liked the originality and taste of the Fries and Fried Rice balls. Both had a nice spicy kick with the added sauces. A notch above the other fast food places. I've had veggie bibimbop elsewhere, and this one was different/simple but also very good. If you're a foodie, try this place and make your own call but when I pass by Provo again, I'll make a point of stopping in again. I decided to give Bumblebees a second chance and I am glad I did. The trick for me is to order the sauce on the side. The Bibimbop with just a hint of the spicy sauce and dipping the Kpop in the sauce works great for me. We also tried for the first time the mandu, kimchee rice balls, and the noodle rolls. They were all very good--the kimchee balls dipped in the spicy mayo sauce was awesome. I am going to be picky here. One, the bathroom was filthy. Two, what is up with the amount of plastic waste. The little containers of jalapeños and pickles may be convenient but it is too wasteful. read more

Have you heard of carne asada fries? Well, get ready for Korean style with Bulgogi French Fries! This is the first Fast-Casual Korean-American place I've seen pop up in Utah County, for sure, and I LOVED it! The service was on-point and they were super helpful in describing the menu items - except for the spice level. Unfortunately, my mom had a bad experience here because the sweet woman has zero tolerance for spicy food. She ordered the tacos and they came with a sriracha swig on top. It was impossible to avoid and she ended up barely eating anything except french fries. If only the employees who were so helpful with our order had just asked about everyone's spice tolerance, I believe her experience here would've been completely flipped. Anyhoo, the spicy pork fries were unordinary but delicious - a little heavy on the mayo like fry sauce though. The fry sauce represented the American side of the dish (along with the french fry part), but it needed more of a Korean sauce to balance it. The bulgogi noodles were my absolute favorite! The Noodle dishes were similar to the french fry dishes when it came to the fry sauce on top and presentation. In addition, the bulgogi meat had more flavor than the spicy pork did, in my opinion. I thought I would like the pork more, when in fact, I ended up liking the bulgogi more. The noodle dish had another Korean note to it, I believe it was in the sauce; the noodle dishes are sautéed in a soy sauce of some kind and it really brought the balance I was searching for with the fries. I bet the fries would be one step better if it had that sauce drizzled on it as well. Lastly, the Mandoo was fantastically crispy and juicy. It needed a dipping sauce as well. My husband and I have been coming here for many months but I dont know if we will be going there any more. The food is amazing but there is a girl behind the counter that is absolutely the worst! I didn't want to write a bad review because the food is amazing but that girl at the register is horrible!!! Every single time we go she is disrespectful. She has ignored us and walked away from the table while my husband was talking to her, whispered so quietly when we were trying to order that my daughter noticed and asked what was wrong with her, lol, lied that all the desserts were out so that she didn't have to poke more buttons than needed with very long nails on that she apparently can't do her job effectively with. I have introduced this place to so many friends and family and she has driven many of them off with her antics. If you go there and see a girl with overly long nails, and a shorter hair cut just walk out and try a different day that she isn't there, she is the worst I have literally ever encountered. read more

And although there are other good Korean places around, Bumblebee does a good job of bringing new options. I stopped by on a whim maybe 20mins before they closed (always a risky move), but they were super nice and happy to make me something fresh. I got the bul-gogi Kpop fries to go and the entire drive home my car was filled with the delicious smell. When I finally got to dig in the fries were still hot and absolutely amazing. A good mix of crispy and soft and absolutely covered in sauce, cheese and beef. I would prefer it a little spicier, but I think I'll just try the spicy pork next time. I'd give a really good review if the portions matched the price. I got the K-Noodles for $9.99. For that price I was expecting a filling quantity but was disappointed with what seemed like a kid-sized portion. It was served in a foil bowl similar to what Cafe Rio uses but couldn't have been more than half the size....and less than half the food you would get at Cafe Rio or a Hawaiian BBQ place. I ate it but was unsatisfied because I was still hungry but had already spent more than a normal lunch fare. Update: The owner saw my review before I left and sincerely asked to resolve my concerns. He made a whole new dish so I would leave satisfied. He was really nice and asked many questions to understand me as a customer. Was excited to try based on high reviews. Staff was incredibly unfriendly, unhelpful when asked for input on the menu, didn't smile once at us while chatting, didn't greet us upon entering and hearing my warm "hello!" Our total was about $28 as we ordered the K-pop fries, bibimbap and mandu. Pricey for our small family (my husband and I, plus our 3 and 1 year olds), but not unreasonable for us to expect that price for a meal out these days. Had the proportions been enough it would have felt worth it but the bibimbap was very small with sparse toppings. Fries were better and were hot unlike the bibimbap. Overall, will have to feed my kids and husband more food when we get home. Left very underwhelmed and let down, after really hoping to like it! We love Korean food. For good bibimbap head up to the mall to Noodle n Roll! And finally, my husband used the bathroom and said it was "one of the worst restaurant bathrooms" he has ever encountered.
