Buona is fast, fresh, clean and consistent. They must have some kind of regimented training program. It is obvious the Buona family takes great pride in providing food and beverage as they have committed to developing people to best serve their customers. This review is based on the soft opening tonight- First, thank you for the invite, buona! We had a great experience. The manager and staff were all very eager and excited to open this place and welcomed us to try some foods on their menu. I tried the salmon sandwich which had some capers, tomato, lettuce, and mayo. It actually tasted pretty good and was on fresh bread. The fries were surprisingly good. A little wider than I expected, crispy on the outside and softer on the inside, and piping hot. The buona beef sandwich buona style was a little bit lacking. I thought it was a little dry, although it was filled to the top with beef. I had mine with sweet peppers. Maybe I should have had it totally dipped but i didn't really appreciate anything special about the beef itself. The chopped salad was small but had some nice bacon, blue cheese, scallion, and olives. Looked freshly made, but I definitely wouldn't pay $8 for this when I can go to portillos! Also, for you other Diet Coke lovers, this place has Pepsi only. But they do serve beer and a heaping glass of wine for $4. All in all, a good place to get decent cheap fast food. Stopped in for lunch, the service was inviting and enjoyable, never felt left in the dark from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Staff was constantly checking in on me. The chicken Parmesan sandwich was delicious, well seasoned, nice amount of sauce on it and came on a nice toasted roll. Came for the first time on a visit to Chicago. We came for dinner on a Saturday night at around 8:30 pm. It was not busy at all (only about 2 others inside). The cashier was pleasant. We ordered two dry Italian beef sandwiches with dipping juice on the the side, one large fry to share, and one a margherita pizza to share. The "dry" sandwiches were still pretty soggy and messy so we were glad we ordered them dry. The bread on the sandwich was hearty (not easy to cut), which was good because it still held up well despite the juiciness. The fries were great. This was our first time having an Italian beef sandwich, and we loved the flavor. I mistakenly did not order peppers with mine because I thought it was supposed to be included. Next time, I would order with peppers. The large size on the fry was acceptable for two people, but not abundant. The pizza came out a few minutes after the sandwiches and fries, and was hot and fresh. The crust was good and the pizza was flavorful. We ended up taking most of the pizza with us in a to-go box (which are on the counter ready to grab, you don't even have to ask for these), and it served well cold the next day for a snack. The inside dining area is large and was clean when we were there. There are booth, table, and bar-height seating options. There is also a good amount of outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. We enjoyed both the food and atmosphere at this place. I would definitely return (we almost did, the next evening!). read more

Made an order on DoorDash, specified my order very simple in the directions. Stated what I wanted and didn't want very clear. Sandwich came back wrong, and without any of the side sauces I wanted. When even the receipt stated my exact order on the outside of the bag. I walked back in the cold to correct my order, the girl at the register didn't even apologize, tried giving me back the messed up sandwich...why would I want it if it's messed up?? Then I ordered a shake and she didn't offer to comp it for them messing up a delivery order that I had to walk to fix. Most restaurants at least OFFER something to make up for their mess up, but she didn't and continued to charge me full price for my shake. I also waited 20 minutes for my order to be fixed. I am going to post this on every Buona listing. Do not patronize this company. This is the second time in 5 years I have traveled for Christmas with my brothers. First time in Texas and this year in Connecticut. In both cases I Sent Buona Beef for the night I was cooking for the family and in both cases they failed to deliver on time. Even after up charging me on delivery. sure they feel so bad they offer me $15 off my next purchase, but why would I allow them to screw me again. In the most recent case, I received an email at 430PM the day the package was due and they said it would not arrive until 10 days later. would have been nice to have known sooner than dinner time on the day it was due. Do not support this business. They do not care about the customer. Vote with your pocket that you expect to be treat fairly. I will never visit a branch or utile their wed site again. I was excited for this addition to my neighborhood. Sadly, mostly a disappointment. I ordered the 5" beef with cheese with the combo add. That is over $10 and very much NOT worth the price. The beef sandwich had a minimal amount of beef and just a sprinkle of cheese that was totally lost with the failing bread-to-beef ratio. I will not be back for the beef sandwich. However, the fries were delicious. Very crispy, fresh, and perfect amount of salt. Never once has this restaurant gotten an order right. Not once. So frustrating to order food and not once can they manage to get the order right. Buona overall is good. However their delivery service is terrible. Out of the last three orders all three have been wrong. Missing cheese with cheese fries, no giard on sandwiches, sandwiches not baptized. Very unfortunate because our office loves beef but we can't deal with inaccurate orders!!! Buona Beef is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! I had Portillos as my top beef spot but Buona has the top spot with me now. The location I went to is in Streeterville(Chicago). As for the customer service, the last time I dined in I expressed through there customer service site that I waited a long time for a table to get cleared off. The Manager called me the next day and apologized. He also invited me back and I quickly saw the problem was definitely fixed. Tables were cleared off right away making it so people could sit quicker instead of awkwardly waiting for someone to clear off a table. I also found the Manager to be very hands on and attentive to criticism. I will continue to come back because the food is PHENOMENAL and now the dining area is accommodating to the many Buona beef customers that will surely increase as the word gets out about how good the food is. Trust me, you won't regret trying it out. My personal fav is the Beef and Cheddar on croissant. But I look forward to trying other choices on there menu like the Ribs. read more

I ordered a Cheesy Beef and fries; the fries were good, but the beef - supposed to be the star - was pretty tasteless, even with it "wet"; the cheese didn't impress much either. I can really only compare it with Beef Shack, which unfortunately closed on Belmont, but was amazing - a huge serving of very tasty beef, and the melted cheese just complimented it perfectly. Wow! I'm a foodie and typically not a huge fan of chains or fast casual but this place is a great edition to the neighborhood. They did a great job with the branding and it reminds me of shake shack that serve beefs. The service is awesome. I have been going to different Buona Beefs for years and it is always yummy. I was really excited about one opening close to work. I have gone 2 times and both times my order was wrong. Today I made it ALL the way back to my office before I checked my order(Should've checked before I left) my order was wrong again. I ordered an Italian beef dipped with Cheese and Hot peppers on the side. I had no cheese and no peppers. I had to walk back in the cold to the restaurant. Not a big issue I understand this is newly opened and kinks need to be worked out. What is not acceptable is getting attitude from a worker when I tried to explain what the issue was and that I wanted a new sandwich because now my sandwich and fries were cold. The worker said " we are busy, it is the lunch rush" Bad customer service can make or break you. I did not appreciate this type of response. However the manager was very nice and fixed my issue right away. This needs to get better. read more
