Sadly she never introduced herself so I can't give her the kudos she deserves. Started out with warm bread and garlicky soft butter. They serve it with the knife stabbed through the center of the bread - by the time you pull the big knife out, there is not much center left to spread the butter on. I figured out how to slather it in butter anyways. The garlic butter is something I could eat on everything! Dinner: We arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday. There were plenty of people there, but we were able to be seated right away. We ordered the pollo piccata - it was delicious, the sauce was creamy, the perfect amount of lemony, and the capers weren't too salty. The creamy potatoes were great and the veggies cooked perfectly. The balsamic ribeye - eh not our thing. Mid at best for us. It was tender, but it had so much liquid it didn't have much flavor and tasted like it was boiled. Still giving 5 stars overall because maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. Dessert: Chocolate lava cake - ours was extinct. There was NO LAVA! Just a very dense very chocolaty cake. Did I still eat it?? Yes!! Chocolate is chocolate. But if you are going to say lava I expect some lava! Drink: Josh Cab, always a hit. Strawberry Minefield (I think) dangerous! Second time coming here, and about the same. The ambiance is very nice, kitschy Italian, yet nonetheless quiant and charming in overall atmosphere. Service is top notch and our server was delightful and ever so friendly and helpful. It made our dinner a very pleasurable experience and we were not rushed at all. There were four of us and having to catch up in conversation we weren't initially focused on the menu, and that was fine. There was no pressure even though it does make it difficult for that person. I had the Veal Marsala, which came with a cheesy risotto and vegetable, in this case sliced and sautéed zucchini. The entire meal was a bit underwhelming, sorry to say. The veal was so-so, without much substance or depth of flavor. The risotto similarly was bland and just didn't taste all that interesting, as though it had sat around for some time and reheated. The zucchini was fine and freshly made, but what was most bothersome was each element of the meal seemed to float together in a watery mixture of emitted fluid. Hard to describe, just left nothing distinctive in its own way. Our dining partners felt the same in their choices, perhaps competent to a degree but in no way outstanding and bordering on disappointing. The wine, a Pinot, was quite good. I would try coming again, but I will ask for recommendations next time. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice restaurant and atmosphere. The food, however, is merely middle of the road. read more

Perfect spot for a date night or special occasion. Customer service is ways great. All staff treat you like family and they always seem to remember their customers who come in. This was my second visit. My first visit i had the salmon and it was on fire with the vegetables. This time I enjoy polo Piccadilly with potatoes and vegetables. The polo was so tender and it was such a large amount given. I cant forget the minestrone, even on a hot day I have to have a cup. Its so filling and its one of my favorite places to pick up minestrone for dinner. read more

So, not everyone knows this (but I guess they might now...) but Buonarroti has a "secret menu".... Well kinda. They still offer some dishes from the older menu. These may/may not be readily available so keep that in mind. E.g. Cioppino. Super delicious and a price to match given the few places that offer Cioppino on the regular. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. They also have a full bar as well, so have a drink while you wait for your table. Service was excellent! Had the pasta with meatballs, four loafs of bread yummmm, the seafood pasta, gnocchi, chicken piccata and the consensus of each meal was outstanding! Sister in law says the piccata is the best in the area, and she's very particular about this dish! The meatballs were delicious and I would highly recommend this dish especially if you come in with an appetite! Now the bill is another story.. rather pricey for a dish of pasta, but to go along with the ambience of the restaurant I guess they have to charge these prices... 45-50$ per person seems rather spendy again for pasta... we I'll return everyone is very satisfied when we leave... ohhh we usually don't have our usual glass of wine or beer, anise that definitely makes the price point rise! read more

The ambiance is lovely and the staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Unfortunately, several aspects of our visit were disappointing. Our table for two was very small and squeezed between other tables, making the seating feel cramped. The menu was quite limited with no classic dishes like lasagna, chicken parmesan, or eggplant parmesan. Veal and chicken entrées came with risotto, with a $3 upcharge to substitute "homemade" fettuccine. The noodles were very heavy and glue-like. We didn't eat it. The veal was sliced very thin, about the thickness of bologna. Portion sizes overall were very small for the price. We were also surprised by a $3 upcharge to add anchovies to a Caesar salad, which felt odd for a traditional ingredient. Service and atmosphere were definite highlights, but the tight seating, limited menu, small portions, and extra charges impacted our overall experience. read more

Came here as a last hurrah before having a surgery that was going to lay me up for a few months. Good, not great. This place is so hit or miss. The hardest part I've had lately is how expensive it is to go out anymore. Two people, shared salad, two entrees, two drinks, one order of cannoli to take home, $128.00. That's two weeks of groceries for us. I know, I know, don't eat out if you can't afford it. Service was awful as well. Slower than stink. Buonarroti's is fantastic! The food, service and ambiance is great. My wife absolutely loves the Chicken Piccata. This is a dish she regularly orders at Italian restaurants and she says that Buonarroti Chicken Piccata is the best she has had. I personally like the Cioppino with added linguini noodles. Honestly it was mediocre at best. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and appetizers. We were left alone at the bar for most of the time trying to flag down anyone that would give us pepper and parmigiana for our food. I get that they want to freshly grate the pepper and parm but if we have to wait until the food is cold to get it just leave it on the table and we can do it ourselves. $120 later we were disappointed. read more

We came from Davis to see a show and stubbled upon this cute restaurant.., it's very romantic and the food we reasonably priced and the food was good with nice portions.... But what was best about this restaurant was the service! It was superb! From the bread service to the water refill- everyone was so nice... they split the dishes even the salad for us they asked about our anniversary and gave us a free dessert to split! My wife and I took a very good friend to dinner for her birthday. The decor and ambiance were really nice-very Italian. They split the fettuccine with shrimp and the green salad and enjoyed both. I ordered the minestrone soup and the Pollo piccata. The soup had good flavor but the pasta was mushy-very overcooked. The lemon capers sauce was overpowering and after two bites I couldn't taste anything but bitter lemon. Unfortunately it also got into the scalloped potatoes and made them inedible. Buonarratti's was suggested by the owner of the Airbnb JR's bunkhouse in Lincoln, CA. We were also there last weekend w/some friends from out of town. We totally love this place & when we were visiting in March we actually went two days in a row that's how much we enjoyed the service & the food was absolutely delicious. Service on both days were very good & Chef Daniel talked to every single table in the restaurant when we were there. My girls loved Chef Daniel & the servers were truly attentive . I honestly can't remember all the servers names but they were very knowledgeable w/ suggestions . I believe the server assistant was Carmen lovely Lady was also very attentive to our needs & had the most beautiful smile . Thais place has romantic vibe & open kitchen that is visible from dining room but not intrusive to the guests on the restaurant. When you first enter you can smell all the aromas & it's so delightful! My granddaughter had ordered a crème brûlée & Chef brought her another one b/c the first one didn't meet his standard a bit runny but it was still delicious. Our friends from out of town loved the restaurant so probably our new go to when were visiting. This is one of the 2 best Italian restaurants in Placer county. Amazing food, and that's coming from an Italian family. While parking could be better, the restaurant location is great and is in the historic area of Lincoln. Our Server Lanisha was friendly and very responsive to our needs. The price is what you would expect for good food, in a nice sit down restaurant. While the menu was small, the items on the menu were great. It's like IN N OUT. Why offer 5000 things that are mediocre when you can offer 20 things that are all great. The risotto was done right. It had the tiny little bite left to it. The cream sauces were light and delicious. Be sure to save room for dessert because I doubt you would be disappointed. The Italian soda does need more flavor but our waitress corrected this for us and the second one we had was perfect, Overall we had a good evening and we will be back. read more

Service was very slow: 1 hour wait to get 2 pasta dishes: a penne with meatballs and a shrimp scampi. Our highlight was getting a clean water glass - lol. The cook is not familiar with how to cook with wine and reduce it properly leaving the dishes watery. Sourdough bread and butter was good, and Cesar salad was ok. Tea we ordered was lukewarm with no hot water refills and the cup was chipped. When we were seated we heard other guests had not been brought thier food on time. Note to owner: service is below par standard, reduce the number of slow servers, and replace them with high quality servers. The servers are killing your restaurant - it's not the chefs fault as the dishes arrived hot after ordered albeit with some deficiencies in the sauce reduction and seasoning. I think you may have a front of house issue or some very lackadaisical servers. read more
