Taco Tuesday was disappointing. The steak in the tacos was dry and with minimum flavor. Service was, as usual, very good. Ambiance, again as usual, was very nice. Go back to prime rib Wednesdays - if you don't people are going to migrate to the Timbers in Roseville. read more

We had another outstanding experience at the Meridian Restaurant in Lincoln Hills, and I felt compelled to share--especially after seeing a few recent less-than-stellar reviews. I dine here regularly, and their hamburger is consistently fantastic--always cooked right and full of flavor. But tonight really raised the bar. My wife went with me to the Wednesday Prime Rib Special, and it was hands-down one of the best prime rib dinners I've had in a long time. The meat was cooked to perfection, incredibly flavorful, and that end cut... absolutely off the chart. On top of that, the portion size was generous--they definitely don't skimp here. The sides were just as impressive. The veggies were spot on, and the au gratin potatoes were phenomenal--fresh-cut potatoes, rich, cheesy, and simply over the top delicious. My wife also tried the prime rib sandwich with fries, and it was excellent as well. Fresh bread, perfectly cooked meat--every bite delivered. As usual, the view of the golf course and waterfall from the dining hall is spectacular. And the cherry on top? The service. We were greeted with smiles and treated like we were the most important guests in the room. That kind of experience makes all the difference. To those who may have had a different experience--I'd just say maybe give it another shot. We had lunch here again today on a Sunday. The menu is a little different for Sunday brunch. My husband had the breakfast burger and I had the cheese burger. They were both delicious and my fries were super crispy and hot. The service was ok. We didn't see our waitress much. I do wish there were more healthy choices on the menu and I wish they changed the menu more often, as we like to eat here often. A healthy chicken burger with a side salad, a roasted veggie sandwich or menu items similar to these would be great. read more

We enjoyed our BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and Salmon Almondine for dinner at Meridians. The food was very good. The food did come out quickly. The environment was very clean, pretty, and appointed like a cruise ship. The service was unfortunately very slow even with 3-4 servers for the whole restaurant. Water refills were unbelievably slow. I was also quite disturbed to be charged for both my table and an adjoining table. Fortunately, I spotted the two charges going thru with my credit card app alerts. I mentioned this to the server and then got an admission of what had happened and that they were working on correcting it. The server then checked I got back the correct card, which was concerning. Unfortunately, there was no apology from anyone. By the time we got to our car I saw a credit pending on my card for the second charge. I will now keep my eye out that this second charge is properly zeroed out. Food is good, but clearly staff training still needs work. In my opinion, there is NO excuse for mischarging like this. Fortunately, they did not misplace my card (unlike another restaurant in Lincoln. Again, NO excuse for that either.) read more

I'm not sure I've ever experienced service this bad anywhere. My wife and I came into the bar at 3:55 for a drink after hitting balls. As we sat and watched the staff chatting with other customers, it felt like we were completely invisible. We grabbed an empty table that still had used glasses and empty chip bags. After sitting for nearly 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us, I was about ready to leave when a gentleman finally came over. When I mentioned that we weren't sure if we were even going to be served, he said they overlooked us because we sat at a dirty table. He took our drink order around 4:15 but didn't ask if we wanted a menu. Meanwhile, another waitress stood nearby chatting with other guests and never once looked our way. Eventually, an older woman brought our drinks--then started touching the top of my straw and fiddling with my lime. I had no idea what she was doing and finally said, probably more curtly than I intended, "Could I get another straw?" By 4:35, a different staff member finally came over to ask if we wanted a menu. At that point, it was almost laughable. It is 4:40 and we yet to be asked if we are ok, do we need another drink or the bill. All in all, this was one of the most inattentive, unprofessional service experiences I've had. It's a shame because the place itself seemed nice, but the staff clearly needs better training and leadership. read more

Meridians is the main restaurant at Sun City Lincoln Hills. They offer a menu that appeals to a wide variety of tastes: burgers, salads, pasta, dishes, etc. The food is decent and the service is friendly. We have eaten there at different times of day and the service and quality is fairly consistent and the prices are reasonable for the area. read more

Beautiful dining area and great food, especially the Prime Rib dinner on Wednesdays. I was greeted by a lovely hostess who seated me at a table with a view of the golf course fairways. The menu has a large assortment of food to please everyone. Happy Hour during the week offers $1 off on drinks and $2 off on appetizers between 3 - 6 pm. Plenty of staff and servers that can be flagged for help. I was their last diner and the server was preparing to shut down. The food was the worst we've ever experienced. Lemon capers chicken was greasy, over salted and barely edible. The smothered pork chop was just nasty. Same greasy breaded, over salted piece of pork that was barely chewable. Huge pieces of asparagus that weren't trimmed properly and were too fibrous to eat. my wife said the pork looked like dog food. But hey, the dinner rolls were good. Skip this place, unless you have no taste buds and you don't care if your ankles swell up from too much salt. read more

Prime rib night. Could it have been worse? No. Both of us were so tired and looking forward to a good meal. Had only had lunch here before and it was ok. Nothing special. Both of us ordered the prime rib, rare with a baked potato. Both showed up medium rare. But we decided not to say anything because we were hungry and tired. No butter for the potato and when we touched the potato they were cool and rubbery. Obviously not fresh. Again, opted not to say anything. Cut into our meat, tough and tasteless. Tried to find a waiter, no one about...10 minutes later I was going to ask for butter but then we had a few bites of our meat and it was just awful. I told the waiter our food was awful, they offered another meal which we accepted. When the waitress brought our meal she told us no one else had complained about the steak. Not sure what we were supposed to do with that information. I'm 70 years old and this is the first time I've ever sent a meal back. So it's not like this is a habit! There are too many good meal options in Lincoln to bother with this place. I'm not sure why they have substandard food or why they don't have a competent chef, but if they are trying to save money, then they are doing a disservice to the residents here. The only reason I gave two stars was the new food they brought (half an hour later) looked good but we were too tired to even try it and boxed it up and left. read more

We had dinner tonight (thursday) because it was BBQ night. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks. Order was taken at the same time as outdrinks. About 20 to 25 minutes later our food came. My wife and I had the brisket. The brisket was very fatty and just barely warm. The plate had a piece of paper on it so you were cutting meat on a piece of paper. Not good. Whenever we are in the Lincoln Sun City neighborhood, Meridians is often our first choice when it comes to dining, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu offers a nice selection of foods that would satisfy any appetite. I often like to try different things whenever we visit. Michael our server was friendly and attentive. This time I ordered a Shrimp Louis and a Tequila Sunrise. My dad got a grilled Chicken Sandwich with ice tea, brother-in-law got Fish & Chips with a Sierra Nevada beer, and my sister got Seared Salmon with potato salad, Piper Sonoma Brut and a flourless Chocolate cake for dessert, (because it's gluten free). As usual, our dinners did not disappoint. We were full, satisfied and enjoyed family time together in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, which included some nice golf course views, by the way. read more

I wish that I could give Meridian Restaurant in Lincoln Hills a good rating. But each time we go, I am so very disappointed with the meal. This time I ordered Fish and Chips- that used to be a wonderful meal, I used to say , the best thing about Meridians was the fish and chips and the hamburgers, they can't screw those up. Last night we went and it was as if they deep fried frozen fish and put it on my platter with French fries , and coleslaw. I was so very disappointed. The Cod used to be cooked in a batter, that was light and airy. The fish used to be a generous piece of cod, real cod, that tasted absolutely delicious. Now, they resorted to frozen fish deep fat fried . All I can say is that the fish was disappointing, but the French fries were good. read more

Have eaten there many times I usually go for the hamburger and fries which is one of the best anywhere and the price point is right there, but tonight I went for the St. Patrick's day special the stew! Well it was ok, but only had two little pieces of meat in it, 4 carrots and two little potatoes, needless to say I was still hungry after the small, or should I say baby bear portion! It looked like we were an after thought when they scooped it out the pot! It was also just baring warm, I know they were busy but for stew for 18$ this was absolutely unacceptable! They didn't even bring a piece of bread to soak in the stew! Again very dissatisfied and disappointed! The French dip sandwich had a paper wrapper inside it when I ate the second part of my wife's sandwich! Again very unacceptable. The waitress was amazingly nice and knew her stuff! Last night, I enjoyed the best fish sandwich I've had anywhere in ages--crispy, light batter, flaky fish, not greasy, all on a soft roll with cheese... pure perfection. Have been eating here for the past 10 years, off and on. The food has been both good and so so. Have had some very bad experiences with some servers (one brought the wrong food, and then insisted that it was what I had ordered!) Recently we made a terrace reservation - over a month in advance - for a table on the west end of the terrace. We arrived, and our reservation had been moved to the opposite end of the terrace? When asked why this was done, their only answer was " That is where you were seated". No answer, just take it or leave it !!!!!! Now you know why we will not be back. This is not the first time reservations have been messed up - so why go back if they can't do a simple thing when scheduled far in advance ? Our waitress was in a hurry to take our order and that was the last we saw of her until after dinner when my coffee cup was almost empty and COLD. Most of the food was only warm. You were running out of prime rib at 5:35 p.m. on prime rib night. You were also out of scalloped potatoes. Nothing was hot. My wife's salmon was dry. My prime rib was OK at best. The extremely poor service and cold food left us all regretting that we gave Meridians another try. I come to lunch here once a month with a group and everything is always perfect. Thanksgiving dinner was very good! Everything I tried was cooked to perfection. Even the salmon was moist? The buffet was well organized and food nicely presented.The buffet this year was set up in the beautiful newly decorated ballroom allowing a better flow from station to station. The menu was diverse but was still faithful to the traditional turkey and trimmings. I loved the carrots which might have been seasoned with hints of cinnamon or cardamom? Kudos to the chef. And special recognition to the wait staff who provided our table with excellent service. Finished we walked toward the lounge area where we had fun taking family photos . This review is based upon 1 day: I went and the bar was packed so we sat in the dining room. There were two tables occupied. It took 10 mins or so for server to get our drinks. Half hour to get our food. The pasta I got beef something pasta. It had so much water in it. Never again will I order it. I don't know if the server was the only one but she was busy and not friendly because she was so stressed. I think cook was too. Bread is good read more

Our lunch and drinks were delivered quickly even with all the tables filled. The lunch was excellent and service was delivered with a smile. Service is really bad at this place. Evening Manager is very rude. He should not be a manager at all. I don't remember his name but he is always there at night. We know because our Aunt lives in the Sun City and that's the only place that she wants to eat so we pretty much don't have a choice. The manager in the morning is very nice. We have been living in our Sun City Lincoln Hills home for a little over a year. We have ordered takeout several times with some disappointing results especially on the Shrimp or Salmon Tacos. The corn tortillas fall apart because they are not cooked enough and we also had an entree in a takeout tray that was not closed properly which leak in my vehicle. I do like getting our food picked up at the curb. The food is tasty. Our first and only in restaurant meal was very good with good service. I wish they could possibly change up the menu selections for lunch and dinners. Hopefully we will visit and order again but some things must improve and change. read more

Open to the public, but I don't know how many outside this enclave know about it. Service is slow but friendly, and I'll say they serve the BEST Reuben sandwich I've ever tasted. They DO have actual chefs here, I met one! Great fries and Caesar salads too. I haven't tried much else, besides the salmon, which was nothing to write home about. Skip the so-called nachos, they're bad and wildly overpriced. Prices otherwise are fair and reasonable. Full menu, also has a pretty cool and inviting wood-paneled bar with sports and happy hour. In addition to all that is a hidden bar in the restaurant for silver foxes and cougars looking to meet their wife or husband. I mean that in a nice way. Really nice views too. Not a destination spot, but if you have parents in Sun City or live there, I DO recommend it, as it's always packed and people seem happy with their dishes. They have daily specials too, like prime rib dinner. Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch. Again, I've just sampled a small portion of their offerings, but I love this place, and recommend it! Perfect for a pre-golf meal too, as it overlooks the golf course. I've been meaning to write a review for quite some time. Starting with the food. It is a hit or miss! I have ordered the same thing over and over...chicken piccata, when it is good it's great! When it's bad it's terrible. The last time I got this dish, I had a palm size (from a small hand) piece of meat with 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes and the vegetables were so dry, no seasoning, butter, nothing. Nachos were better with the melted cheese, now they are using real cheese shreds and I had to send it back because you couldn't even see many cheese or any toppings for that matter. From now on, I will ask for a manager and send the food back. Tire of wasting money. I enjoy coming for the convenience and beautiful views. I hate the carpet, it's disgusting. We should have laminate floors. It would look so much nicer without the food smeared into the carpet. Just gross. The Sports Bar should be bigger! And you need at least 2/3 people at busy times. I can go in there and eat, but I have to go to the bar myself to get a drink. Not their fault. Staff is great but they need more help. Outdoor Seating is pretty gross too. There's a cheap blue table cover along with stained cushions to sit on. I try not to focus on that and just look at the beautiful surroundings. Get some pointers from SC Roseville...now they have it going on Both inside and out. read more

If there was zero, that would be my rating. We've lived in SCLH 9 years and hadn't yet tried the Wednesday prime rib. Called Sept 23 to verify they still have it, as we wanted to celebrate a birthday dinner. Hostess confirmed, "Yes, we do." I asked what time they start. "4:00," she said. Great, see you tomorrow for our birthdays. She did not mention anything about need for a reservation. We arrived the next day ready to celebrate. They turned us away, as they were not taking walk-ins. There was a special concert event going on. Reservations only. Won't be going back. Rudest hostess ever. She could have cared less.
