I like my shirts starched a specific way. Mary always gets it right. They even call me if for any reason my clothes will not be done when promised. Last week I needed a shirt the same day. Called before I hauled over two faux fur queen blankets and a down comforter... I asked over the phone for quotes on both. Re: the comforter, I was told the price would depend on the weight, about $35-55 Re: the queen size faux fur blankets, I was told $20-22.."don't worry, don't worry, I give you good price" on arrival.. Re: down comforter, "we don't dry clean down comforters bc the material breaks the machine and we had to pay $20,000 to fix it" ... not sure why they had me bring it in. Re: faux fur "$ 50 each" when I asked what happened to the $20-22 .."I told you it depended on weight" Which was what he said about the down comforter.. I think they just assume once you get the stuff there, you will just bend over and take it!! read more

There are many dry cleaners within a few blocks of where I live, but I still make the trek out to Burbank Dry Cleaners a good 10-15 minutes from my place because of their impeccable service. The owner Zack always greets me, remembering my name from the first time I randomly dropped off a shirt which had some let's say "memorable" stains (no nothing gross, people). Anyway, this is a true mom and pop shop, run by really hard working people (I think Zack mentioned he hadn't been able to take a proper vacation in a few years, yet he and his wife always welcome you with a warm smile). They also do all the dry cleaning and laundry in house so you'll be assured of consistent results. If you want to support an honest business with great service and humility go here. Went in to pick up my dry cleaning. On my way in I noticed you get 10% off if you're a studio employee so I brought in my badge. The woman wouldn't give me 10% off because "it wasn't in the system" but she put it in for next time. Kinda dumb you can't apply the discount retroactively (which I don't believe for a second) and she wasn't willing to give it to me after the fact. They don't ask either when you drop off your dry cleaning if you are a studio employee. So if you go, tell them BEFORE they give you your ticket. Not great customer service, but they haven't messed up my clothes yet, but I've only been here twice. read more

I took my clothes to Excell Cleaners on Victory and Buena Vista and they gave my clothes back smelling like mildew and funk. I wore one of my sweaters and was nauseated by the smell. I brought in a dress to be altered and needed to pick it up 4 days later before going out of town. I came in and was happily greeted. I quickly pointed out what I wanted to be done and was quoted a great price! I came back to pick it up and there was an hour or so delay on my dress but not a problem at all. Very honest and hardworking people here. Work hard for your business. Last week I brought in an assortment of clothing to see how well they do dry cleaning. Among the many items I brought in, I included my girlfriend's dress which had white and black cloth sewn together. Came to pick up my dry cleaning and was surprised the dress was left alone. The owner explained that a simple dry cleaning would not suffice for the dress due to the delicate items on the dress such as loosely knit floral arrangements around the neck and that also the possibility of black materials bleeding on the white material. He had worked on the dress for some time but did not charge me for his efforts. He wanted me to ask my girlfriend first for permission to work on the dress and to let her know the work would have to be by hand. I appreciated his honesty and his expertise.
