I came here over the weekend with some friends, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the freshness of the food. Their menu is quite extensive, but I was surprised to see that you had to pay for add ons and that the prices were quite high in comparison to other places. I ordered a kids meal, which was a 1/4 pound burger with fries, and I added Swiss cheese and mushrooms. It was so, SO good! They have an extensive topping bar, and everything was extremely fresh and clean. I was definitely impressed with the House sauce as well, which was a nice combo of different flavors and went really well with the burger. The bun was one of the best I've ever had - soft, warm, the absolute perfect texture. The burger was juicy and the toppings were so fresh! Fries were seasoned with a great splash of spices, and everything was visually appealing and delicious. Great service and sweet employees as well, so that's a plus. Family owned fast casual burger place. I've had the 1/3 lb cheeseburger and the grilled chicken salad here as prompted by their signs on their windows convincing me to do so. The burger seems like its from a frozen patty, which i don't mind and actually prefer because its well cooked/seasoned and stays together; more importantly it wasn't greasy. The toasted bun is something to rave about because its soft and toasty and i have an easier time believing that is actually homemade. I'd have to feel particularly adventurous to try some of their other menu offerings, but i'll get to it eventually since i live 5 mins from the place. They took a long time to prepare the food (even the Ubereats driver commented on it). The burger buns were stale. The meat had almost no taste and what taste it had was bad. There was only one slice of lettuce that did not even come close to covering the meat and it was wilted and not the least bit crisp. The fries and onion rings both were cold, soggy, and lamp. The onion rings did not really taste good either. The fries were simply the crinkle cut fries you get in the freezer section at the grocery store. We will not order from this place again. The burger was so good here it actually impelled me to write my second-ever review. I was browsing Yelp for a quick burger lunch in the area, aside from the usual fast food chains. I decided to give this place a try after seeing a photo of the fresh condiment bar in one of the reviews. The location was a little off-putting at first but I knew better than to judge a book by its cover. I ordered the 1/3 lb. burger combo with cheese and bacon, which comes with fries and a drink. Service was quick and prompt, and my food came out within 5-7 minutes. The burger itself was unassuming, served on a large white platter with fries on the side. I quickly grabbed by burger and giddily headed over to the condiment bar which had drawn me there in the first place. The condiment bar was better than I expected! Fresh lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, and even pico de gallo. It all went on my burger and my burger quickly all went into my mouth. I can't really describe the taste of it, because really it's just a burger, but it was so good. It's a decent size patty but my toppings were a bit of an overload because I love lots of crisp lettuce on my burger. And the bun was toasted perfectly and it's not on the heavy side. This place never disappoints. It's a small, family owned restaurant that I frequent 1-2 times a week. For the record, I have never, ever seen a bug in the few years that I've gone here! The couple who do the cooking are very kind and remember our orders, and the food is consistently delicious. You can order a burger (turkey or beef or veggie) or chicken sandwich on regular or the whole wheat bun. There are lots of topping choices (mushrooms, avocado, bacon, different cheeses). The combos come with so many fries that my husband and I share an order. Onion rings are an option but I've never tried them here. Condiments and veggies are found on a self-serve bar similar to Fudds so they're all-you-can-eat. When I'm dieting, I get the green salad. It's very filling and has boiled eggs for protein. These come with a lightly toasted bread that doesn't make you feel like you're dieting. :) They also give you about 1/4-1/2 cup of your choice of dressing. Can't eat that much ever!! Anyhow, this place has a warm spot in my heart because I've gotten to know the family, and they're very consistent and hard working. I must say they cook a pretty good burger!! I was sooo sketchy about going and when I made it there it seemed even more so. The place was empty and to me that's a sign of not so good food. They do have TVs for entertainment. It's not a unique place or updated at all but my only concern was how was how good was the food. The person taking my order didn't speak english so well so I just knew my order was going to coming out wrong. After my order was taken the food came out super fast. That's not saying much seeing that the place didn't have any people. My 1/2lb bacon cheese burger with mushrooms was Excellent!! While I was eating the place started to fill up and I just kept humming and eating kmsl.. They could've given me more fries though. Overall I know where to go if I want a good freshly cook burger. First, this place is NOT a dump or a dive. It's a family establishment and it's clean, painted well, decorated, and serves delicious food. Stay away from places like SmashBurger or Five Guys and come to a place like Burger House. It's homemade, it's supporting local business, and it's great food. Went for a early dinner and ordered the 1/3 burger and the jalapeño poppers. Was excited to try something local since i've past this spot a few times before. I added cheese and bacon to the burger and the total came out to $15 and some change. They had a toppings bar and all of the toppings looked and tasted very fresh. My friend and I shared a burger and I wasn't impressed but I wasn't disappointed. The burger was fine nothing special, but the house sauce was amazing! It was almost like Big Mac sauce. My friend however didn't really care for the burger. I was very excited to try the jalapeño poppers since they were homemade but these I didn't really like. I guess it just boils down to personal preference but when I eat a fried jalapeño popper I prefer pickled jalapeños instead of fresh ones. Now if you are a big jalapeño popper fan then give it a try, but I wouldn't order these again. I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. Burger house is awesome! I love how they provide fresh veggies for you to select to put together for how much you want on your own burger and such. It has the best variety, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pico de gallo, jalapeños, pickles, and their house made sauce which is delicious. They are also clean and have lots to choose from. Though i havent had everything cause its hard to get away from the beef, turkey, and fish burgers... everything sounds good. Not to mention their fries are fresh and hot and seasoned well. And they are not skinny. This place is worth being a regular at. The price is great and i love showing people this place that have never been here before. The menu is huge with lots of variety and the past two times i came, i sure wasn't disappointed. I got the 1/2 burger the first time and the grilled chicken sandwich the second. The bread is freshly made and the meat is cooked just right and tastes really juice and nice. As for the fries, the seasoning is on point and is unique. Quite zesty and thats what i desire. I called the Hwy 6 location of "Burger House" near Sugar Land and was told that there was no "online" menu except for the facebook page for the 45 North location which when I looked it up did not have any prices. So I called back to confirm the price and was told that there was a Burger House page on the internet at burgerhouse.com (they must have looked it up), but once I went there and subscribed to the site to get the "ONE ($1)" dollar off coupon, it did not print. I called the location to let them know there was something wrong with the website and see if they would honor the coupon anyway, they stated that they're "not really" affiliated with that website and they don't accept the coupons anyway. So, as many burger places as there are in Houston, you would think that a small franchise location of a Dallas based company would be more receptive to their customers requests, (apparently not) especially if the companies only claim to fame is there famous "Seasoned Salt" (per the website). I've had the burgers at this particular location before and it was convenient but that's it, but then again McDonald's or Wendy's is convenient since they're right down the street, but I was expecting more from a place which should be trying to establish their businesses name in this area, as they're certainly not a major franchise like Carl's Junior, which I have not been to. Forget these guys, when I ask for medium on a burger, I expect "medium" on a burger patty. Not practically raw. read more

The thing that made me the happiest would be that they did not go light handed on the avocado at all! I subbed my fries for tater tots for 50 cents more and it was very well worth it. I love the burgers here. I almost always get the 1/3 pound with avocado and cheese. You can put whatever kind of fresh toppings on it you want for free. The bun is what tops off the burger for me. It is like a great home made burger with a better bun than I know how to do. The fries kind of suck to me but the tater tots are very good. Some one was complaining about the shrimp on the menu. All I can say is try them. No it is not a pretty restaurant. I am guessing that they put everything they had into the place so they could open it. So it does not bother me at all. I'm so disgusted! I placed my order online, and drove to pick up my order. When I got there, you can see into the back through a little window next to the register. So as I'm walking towards the register the cook digs in his nose, opens up the fridge to get a patty out, touches it with his hand removing the wax paper from the back, and then places it on the grill. I tell the young man that walked to the front to see if he could help me what I saw. He goes to the back and tells the man that I don't want that Patty because of what he did. At this point, he knows I'm watching him. He takes the patio off the grill, gets a paper towel, and wipes hand with a paper towel. He never washed his hands, he did not have gloves on, and then he opened up the fridge and got another Patty out. I told him don't even bother because I could never eat food from here.
