I always get a perfectly cooked turkey burger every time. They have great onion rings and shakes too. Great staff, and clean.

The fries are the best part for me. It's also conveniently located(super close to work),but not as fast as I'd like. I usually have a really simple order and come in on my lunch break,and I'm waiting around 15+ mins. Other than that though, no real complaints. read more

Love the burgers!!! The meat is super juicy and I love that I can make it how I want it, and watch them cook the meat. The fries are just super yummy, I do not know how they make them that good, but they do. Finally the milkshakes are super yummy!!! I had a chocolate banana milkshake today and it was super yummy. I think they actually use a whole banana in there! I know I forced myself to finish it cause it was that good. What makes me even more happy about this place is that you can get your orders to go. You can have the person picking up the burgers make them how you want and burger hut will wrap the burgers and send you on your happy way. Very convenient if you do not want to take the kids out to eat but want a good burger and shake. read more

I've been eating at Burger Hut since Nord Ave and they've always been good to me...I like putting my own toppings on and the salad bar has the right ingredients for me. I have definitely never left hungry...they have a 1 pound burger there with 4 patties...lol...don't forget the bacon, mushrooms and grilled onions!!! read more

UPDATE: So, after reading my previous review, the owner messaged me. She offered me a gift card in exchange for an updated review. I was very hesitant to make a phone order again. But I did, and it was fine. The burgers were coming off the grill exactly when they said they would and the fries stayed hot till I got home. I will not order a shake again though. Because it costs more than a burger and just isn't worth it. But nonetheless, the staff did redeem themselves with being able to time an order properly. :) ORIGINAL POST: This staff has no idea what they are doing. As someone who has worked in food for over a decade, including burgers, I would know. So they said my phone in order would be ready in 10 mins. Surprisingly fast for a busy time (7pm on a Saturday)! I got there in less than 8 minutes and somehow my burgers were already sitting there on the counter, getting cold. The girl was starting the shake when I got there. So I ring up, pay, and start getting my burger toppings. Now the shake is sitting on the counter, melting. So I'm waiting for them to wrap up the burgers and give me a bag, to find they haven't even made the fries yet. So I ask them to put my shake in a freezer while I wait for the rest of my order. I've now been in the restaurant for over 15 minutes. So I finally get everything and leave. Get home, shake is completely liquid, fries are soggy, burgers cold w soggy buns and they aren't marked which is which. This place needs to get their shit together for Togo orders! The garden burger was normal, typical but overpriced. I put beans from the salad bar in my salad however and got home to eat it and the beans were rancid which ruined the entire salad with its rancid flavor, so clearly they are not getting changed out often enough, I hope this was a one time thing, I hate to think they dont keep them fresh. I have been here probably 6 times, and I keep trying to give them another chance. Sorry, still not working. The latest visit gave me two extremely thin, WAY over cooked burger patties, that were actually crusty on the outside edge. No flavor at all. Sorry Burger Hut, you failed again. Fries are good, Condiment table has fresh lettuce/tomatos/etc, everything else is very nice. They just need to get someone in there that can not murder a burger, and the size of the hamburger meat needs to increase. If not, I will not return to this place. Bang for the buck is not there, in other words pricing needs to be lowered for what you get. read more

Pretty good meat in the burgers, but priced way too high for the actual quality and quantity of the food (other than the fries, which you get a HUGE pile of, but they are nothing special, just your usual fozen skinny fries). Used to go all of the time because they were reasonably priced, but that is for sure not the case anymore!! "fresh" fixins bar is usually a mess, and the fixins not so fresh. I think that all 3 burger huts in chico get such high ratings because they are locally owned and have been around forever, more of a nostalgia rating that a quality of food rating. Nobbys and Big Chico Burger serve food that is just as good. Nothing special about Burger Hut. read more

Burger Hut has become our go to restaurant. They make the best garden burgers in town, and they offer gluten free buns - perfect. You just can't beat a byo burger bar. And a shout out to the cooks who who get the food made quickly. read more

Expensive! Every single table in the whole place was disgusting. Three different groups had to ask the employee to wipe the tables down before they could sit anywhere. No mayonnaise at the self serve condiments bar. No tongs for onions or jalapeños. Paid 1.69 for a teaspoon size scoop of liquid guacamole. 69 more cents for one (singular) strip of bacon. Burgers tasted okay (pretty small) . Fries were better. Food was decent but so overly priced (21$ for two small meals) . The place was horribly maintained. My guess is this place has a very greedy owner. read more

So how does a farmer put a smile on his farmer wife after both have had a long day? He says Burger Hut for dinner? as she's making her bouquets. BH's build your own burger is really boss. Build it as you please, end up satisfied and happy is a winner in my book. I go for the half pounder with double cheese and onion rings instead of fries. I like my burger with some mayo and onions with burger hut BBQ sauce on the bottom, then I put more BBQ sauce tomatoes and pickles on top. I end up with a meaty cheesy,savory, yummy burger. My wife likes the more traditional approach with triple tomatoes lettuce, onions, and with catsup all on top of a mushroom swiss burger. She gets fries also which means i get to raid them. The fries are  crispy and  the original style rings are super cruchy, yup classic fried food worth it sin. And don't forget to raid the salad bar for blue cheese dressing for your rings and fries! I didn't get a milkshake but they are great, super thick and topped with whip cream and a cherry, not that there isnt enough fat and calories in the milkshake.They are quite popular. I've seen them scooping milkshakes non stop. So instead of a milkshake i had a beer, this visit I choose a local brew Dunkirk, a brown ale. Really brown, malty, not to much hops as it should be, with nice body. The hut is our most frequented burger shack, and  being able to make it how we like it will keep us coming back. read more

Something about a good, freshly grilled burger that just makes you smile. Well, it makes me smile. And with that, my wife's uncle and aunt took us to Burger Hut on our last night in Chico (actually I paid, but that was the whole idea anyway). I ordered a 1/4 lb. hamburger with cheese. Now get this: they have a fixin's bar. Yes, like the Smaks of Kansas City of old, or perhaps even the Burger Chef's of times gone by, you get to dress your burger anyway you want it. Except: they put some BBQ sauce on the burger before you get it. Not bad, not overpowering, a little unusual, but I can live with it. The burger was good. The 1/2 order of fries that come with the combo are more like a full order, and they are excellent. I even sampled a freshly made chocolate shake and was thoroughly pleased. So yes, on our next trip to Chico, Burger Hut will be a must-stop. Way to go, Burger Hut! You've won over another customer (even though I'm from way out of town). read more

Burger hut is one of the few places on my list of "places to eat" that has my gluten-free stamp of approval. I called them and they were very knowledgeable about cross-contamination and how to reduce the risk. It took quite a while for our food to be ready but there were only three other customers at the tables. As we sat down to wait for our food we noticed there were about 3-5 flies buzzing around the condiment bar. My mom, my roommate, and I decided it would be best to get our food to-go. The burgers were delicious, as are their garlic fries. I think their prices are a tad high but that comes with the local territory. I think the wait time in combination with the flies around the open condiment bar is not a good way to serve food. read more

It seems like this place is a lot more fun to work at than be a customer. Non-stop gossiping between the 4 employees. The cook came out to join the conversation so my burger didn't get on the grill the first 2 mins. I was there. Then, the cook was so distracted by the conversation that the manger took over my burger. The cook proceeded to use a bag like a glove and had it on his hand for a good 2 mins. Then he proceeded to put my fries in that same bag! Gross! I finally got my burger but it took forever to get it wrapped up because another conversation took place between the 2 cashiers. It was like being in the Twilight Zone watching these kids talk while I was just standing there waiting for them to end their conversation. Then, the girl who was cleaning put down her rag and touched my burger when packaging it up. Gross!This place is run by kids and they better get a real manger if they want to survive. If you like to hear teenagers gossip, this place is for you. I miss the Burger Hut on Nord. Night and day. They were professional there. The burger was a burger MEH. read more
