This was my family's first experience at this restaurant. After looking through the menu and photos, everything looked tasty and promising. The service from the cashier was a little unprofessional and I didn't pay no mind to it but now that I'm here I'll bring it up. I ordered my daughter chicken fingers, and this is what we received, a poor excuse of a meal that looks more like bottom of the bag left overs being served. The fries being bigger than the main course but having to pay full price for this. On top of wasting money on the chicken, I also ordered a kids burger with bacon and after coming home from a 25 minute drive, turns out I was robbed from the additional toppings. We didn't receive what we asked for. This place was the first and the last time we'll ever go and I'm hoping no one else wastes their money on their terrible excuse of food. Again after the long drive I called the store and there was no way of contacting management to let them become aware of their service. I wish I could give this place a 0. The family and I had the opportunity to visit here after they remodeled and changed the menu. I much prefer the new look. They interior has a more refined/sophisticated color scheme, with very comfortable seating. Great decision there. The menu has changed, and while I was there, saw several customers who seemed upset by the change. Not sure what there is to be upset about. They offer several different types of burgers and give you the option to craft your own (burger, hot dog or chicken sandwich). So basically, you can make whatever sandwich you want if you don't see what you're craving on the menu. Sounds like a win to me. I ordered the southern smoke burger. Nice burger, tons of bacon. Bacon, beef, cheese and bbq sauce. Overall good flavor if you're looking for a bbq burger (basically). My wife ordered the Mona Lisa. I had a bite of it and I'll say it wasn't my favorite. It's topped with blue cheese, caramelized onion, balsamic tomatoes, sautéed cremini mushrooms. A bit heavy handed with the mushrooms or not sautéed enough (coming from someone who likes mushrooms). But these bold flavors really overpower the wonderful akaushi beef patty. Maybe more of a sauté or less cremini mushrooms, the earthy flavor will compliment the beef instead of overpowering. We shared the cheese fries. They do not have cheese fries on the menu but can make them. Simply ordered the chili cheese fries with out the chili . The fries are thinner steak fries which allow for a nice size fry with a great crisp. I enjoyed them. We also got the newly added onion rings; which we loved. Perfect size onion rings, great crispiness with breading that doesn't hide the onion. But the best thing we tried were the shakes. We ordered the cookies and cream shake and the Twinkie shortcake. They were both awesome! And while the cookies and cream can be eaten solo, definitely share the Twinkie shortcake. They put an entire Twinkie in the shake. Awesome after dinner treat and perfect for your "cheat day". As the days pass, the employees will get better with the Menu and service will be a little better (ie- the girl taking my order asked at what temp I wanted my toddlers chicken tenders. They are also still using cheat sheets to make shakes and other menu items). Not really faulting them because learning a new menu takes time; but hopefully those things get taken care of sooner rather than later. Overall, great new look with an awesome menu. Last time, they brought our onion rings out, then 10 minutes later our fries, then 8 minutes later our burgers. My significant other and I have been wanting to pop in here for a while, nice girl at the register while we ordered but then they "forgot" about our fries and milkshake that we ordered with our burgers. On top of that the milkshake was made with sour milk. My boyfriend saw as she took the milk out of the fridge before making the drink and wanted to wait and see if she would actually make it with that. Consistently a great burger. Always cooked just right, great crust on the patty, and actually seasoned. I really think the toppings here set it apart though. My FAVORITE burger place. Known for tender, high quality, Kobe beef with all the delicious toppings you want (so pile on the free toppings)! They also have some premium toppings for a small cost. There are many different sauces to choose from as well. All the burgers here are cooked medium well unless you ask for it cooked differently. I always ask for mine medium. I've been to this location a few times now and it has even been our post race choice for eating when we are super hungry and want to eat everything in sight. This is one burger I never feel guilty eating so when I'm craving a burger I go to Burger Monger. This particular visit I went with my husband and son. I got the regular burger monger burger and my husband and son both got the 1/2 lb burger monger. We ordered the monger fries to share (the largest size) and were able to take a lot home. This is more than enough for a family of 3 or 4, probably too much! I'm giving my visit 4 stars only because the fries seemed a bit soggy this time, however I've been at this location before and have had crisp, fresh fries. I love that they have malt vinegar for the fries! My husband and son split an Oreo milkshake as well (yes, this was a high calorie evening). It was creamy and smooth with lots of cookie pieces in it. They do serve different teas, a variety of sodas out of the fountain and some beers on tap as well. The people who work behind the counter are friendly. Even though this is a place you order at the counter and food is brought out to you, they still come clear you plates from your table as you finish your food. My only complaint is the bathroom. It didn't smell okay at all. I know, it's a bathroom, but it was this sickening smell of idek, not crap or piss. This used to be a favorite spot for my husband and I to grab a burger. We love their thinly cut fries as well! But most of all, we loved that they had gluten free fries and a gluten bun available on their menu! As someone with Celiac, it's pretty difficult for my husband to find a place he can grab a burger and fries without getting ill. Most places fry their fries in the same fryer as items that contain gluten--this cross contamination can cause people with celiac to have an adverse reaction. (Think really terrible stomach problems for a day or more.) So we were glad to hear that Burger Monger uses a dedicated fryer! We visited Burger Monger many times but a few months ago he got sick after eating there. We assumed it was because of some mix up--maybe something in the order wasn't marked GF the way we asked. So we decided to give it another shot recently and just be more clear about the GF part. When I asked if the fries would be made in the dedicated fryer, I was told that they don't do gluten free fries anymore. :( So, we just ended up leaving without ordering anything. Eating out can be really tough when you have celiac and we were sad to have to strike this great restaurant off our list of safe places to eat. We ended up going to Red Robin, which does have gluten free options and the kitchen even marks your actual food item as such with a color-coded pick. read more

When I mentioned that I didn't really want those the server just said they had complaints about the flat fries and walked away. I don't understand the negative reviews. This location has really gone above and beyond to make the burgers and all the extras as good as it gets. Great burgers! And I'm a super huge fan of the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich (which is my recent go to). This location recently underwent a complete remodel, and it's so much cleaner and more inviting now. The cleanliness and food are much better than the Dale Mabry location. They have unique flavored ketchup that is so addicting! I like the sweet and spicy one...and they recently changed the fries to flat and fat fries that are SO good...I hope they never go back to the old fries b/c they were terribly and soggy all the time. These are nice and crunchy on the outside and the potato is perfectly cooked on the inside. I'm not a fry gal and I can't stop eating these. Mac n Cheese...it's meh. I like their family sized tables for larger parties, we usually meet with friends to grab lunch here with our families and enjoy that we can all sit together. As loyal Burger Monger 1.0 customers, our family was anxiously awaiting the reopening of one of our favorite restaurants. The new decor is nice, sleek, and has a modern feel to it. Upon reviewing the Burger Monger 2.0. menu, we were pleased to see new items but disappointed that many of our favorite items were removed. We were sad to see these items gone: the veggie option for the kid's meal, some burger toppings (spinach, red peppers), beer on tap, Orange Crush in the fountain machine, and root beer floats. The new plastic cups, plastic utensils, and flimsy plastic bowls all cheapen the feel of the newly renovated space. Bring back the large cups, real flatware, and ceramic bowls! We also miss all the comfy booths and the TVs are now reduced from about 12 to 3. When our food arrived, the cost containment was glaringly obvious. The side salad was pitifully small and looked like something from a bad school cafeteria. It came in a small plastic bowl and was only halfway full. It had a few measly pieces of tomato and celery on top, as we asked for no onions--not worth the $3 we were charged. The previous chopped salad had balsamic tomatoes, feta, and came with a delicious bread stick--now THAT was a good salad, plus it came in a cool white bowl. The burgers tasted good but were noticeably smaller/thinner, and the bread was doughier. Our once favorite French fries are now reduced to a thin, flat steak fry that are just not as good, and the shareable portion was small. So disappointing to see that the changes were not good ones. The worst burger that I have purchased in years! I ordered take out. This use to be my favorite burger place. Burger was cooked beyond well done. It was charred on one side. It was almost inedible. After a couple of bites the rest was thrown into the trash. The French fries were barely cooked and were the opposite of the burger. They were limp and soggy. Unfortunately I do not live close or I would have returned all of the food. There are too many other burger places close and you are too expensive to serve food like this. I heard they were switching management but it's no excuse for what's happened to Burger Monger. The quality of burgers has gone down, the level of respect I get as a customer no longer exists. It's a damn shame what has happened to this place. The wife and kids loved the burgers and that bbq chicken sandwhich the kids couldn't get enough of it. But I definitely will not be returning here ever again. My last interaction was watching an unorganized staff with no leadership look completely lost. I spent 10 minutes being ignored, listening to an elderly gentlemen tell his co-workers to stop taking orders, to essentially ignore the customers? Maybe they were just too busy or whatever, doesn't matter it's your job to service me, not ignore me and my family. At least an apology explaining why you're choosing to ignore me would of been good enough. But no, I got nothing and finally when we placed our order. I watched as the cook whom I've never seen in there before and looked like he didn't belong in a kitchen. Burnt and smashed our burgers into nothingness. I been to Burger Monger once before and I was not impressed. The burgers were cooked well done and toppings were added. They gave me chipotle mustard instead of regular mustard and they rectified the issue by giving me several $2 off coupons for my next visit. I don't think I will be back. Although IF I do I would use the coupon because they are quite pricey 3 burgers (my son got a double burger for $10), 2 drinks and a half pound of fries for $34......the half pound of fries was supposed to feed 2-3 people looking at the picture you can tell that was a joke. I rarely try to leave negative feedback - especially in a public forum such as this. But i was so disappointed with my recent visit to the Wesley Chapel location. Let me preface, the staff were beyond friendly and extremely accommodating (which is literally the only reason i even gave 2 stars) But after being a patron for so long, to come back in and experience a complete menu change is not only shocking but also upsetting. The fries are absolute garbage. I didn't think anyone could actually make a fry that my wife wouldn't eat - but congrats to Burger Monger on that feat. Not only have the fries changed but the increase to almost $8 for a burger i could easily get down the road for half the price?! I know i sound like a lunatic, but if you pulled up to McDonalds and ordered a Big mac and their golden, crispy fries but instead end up getting something completely different, you'd be upset too. The manager was super sweet and offered to make it right with a new side or dessert, but really my whole appetite was ruined when all i was hoping for was my usual. I see from other reviews, that the changes the company keeps making is not well-liked - explains why it's always so dead inside. My steakhouse burger was filled with flavor along with charred pieces, indicating the grill needs to be cleaned. I used the restroom while we were there and the floor was soaked, smelled and trash can was full. So between my burnt on add pieces of my burger and soaking smelly bathrooms I'm not sure I would go again.
