We sat outside on a beautiful fall day. The setup is quaint, with classic, white, metal patio furniture and table umbrellas. Unfortunately, the pool was closed for the season nearby our table and very green. We sat quickly, and the restaurant was busy, but not packed. Our service was okay but kind of slow, and we struggled to get our bill and pay. The food was good, but it seemed slightly overpriced for what you got. We ordered 2 pizzas and told them to bring the bill right away, we wanted to get back on the water ASAP. We ordered a drink at the beginning. After an hour went by with no one coming to check on us we went to the bar to order a second drink due to the long wait. 1 hour and 30 min later or pizzas finally came, and they were half the size normally and burnt! There seems to be a Management issue at this location. Most of the Staff are very friendly and helpful but it appears there is a logistics issue with room prep and food service. The Tiki bar is grossly mismanaged. They usually have one person taking care of it who runs back and forth getting food and other items, leaving the Tiki bar unattended for minutes at a time. At the same time there will be two or three employees standing around inside the restaurant doing nothing. Food and special items should be delivered to the Tiki bar! They have radios but don't use them??? Food is generally OK but sometimes cold as it sits inside until the Tiki employee has time to retrieve it - again while the inside employees sit on their haunches and watch the food get cold. There's also an issue with order input into their point of sale system. It takes 30 seconds to order and receive a drink, then it seems it take 3 minutes to punch it in the register. An exaggeration but not by far !!! The only 5 star about this hotel is if you get lucky enough to have Stacy and her daughter Hallie manning the Tiki together. They work together as a team to overcome the deficiencies created by weak or non-existent management! The service and food here is 5 stars, I'm totally shocked that Burger Theory only shows two on Yelp. The breakfast offered is top notch, the freshest I've had ordered out in quite awhile. The breakfast potatoes could possibly be the best I've ever had. At dinner, I ordered the classic burger, even though it had bad reviews and my goodness was I impressed! The pickles, grilled onions and "KGB" sauce, WOW! There were two servers for the whole place which made the service slow. I know many places have been low on workers so won't knock them for that. The burger quality is terrible. Admittedly, I'm usually hesitant with restaurants attached to hotels to begin with but the quality was below my lowest expectation. They're frozen patties with an off taste. The KGB sauce is good, onion rings were delicious. Not sure this is rye bread. They originally messed up our orders so remade them and gave us fries on top of the original order of onion rings. We took our Grandsons (4 &6) here last night for dinner. We had the absolute best food and service! We had the pesto chicken flatbread for an appetizer. It was gone in 5 minutes. Kids loved it too!Burgers, fries, chicken strips & onion rings for dinner. The boys chowed. We ordered two fruit bowls for them as well. The fruit was SO fresh. July 2021 Pool and restaurant was packed with people at the Holiday Inn/Burger Theory. This Place was jumping with live music and staff was extremely knowledgeable and super nice. Sierra was the sweetest and had great recommendations. I didn't read the other reviews but I loved the food here so not sure why there is a two star review but the onion rings were perfectly fried and the fish sandwich was delicious. My friend had the Buffalo chicken wings and Asian chicken salad and ate it all with no complaints. We would Definitely return here from across the lake. Was staying in the attached hotel and didn't feel like going out into the rain to find something. I walk in and the place was full but sure if everyone was staying in the hotel or what but i waited 15 minutes to be seated. There was only 2 working the floor and bar so they had their hands full. They were friendly just overwhelmed with customers. I ordered the Lonestar burger at the suggestion from the front desk of the hotel. It wasn't bad flavorcwise but by the time i got it the fries had gotten cold and the burger was barely warm. The bbq sauce used was very sweet so it kind of overwhelmed the burger. The onion ring on the burger was crispy but again since it was cold they were almost too hard to eat. The bacon was crispy so that was good. We tried 3- the brownie, the key lime and apple crumb. The service was amazing! We were on a Sat night and the live music they had was super fun! Second time here. It was convenient since I was staying at the connected hotel. The chicken "burger" was ok. I topped it with Swiss, "thick cut bacon" and roasted garlic mayo. The "side" salad came on the same tray as the burger which was a bit unexpected. It was dressed well, but it had a fair amount of Romain stems, I would have enjoyed it more if it was more leafy. The chicken was cooked and seasoned well, but the bacon was NOT thick cut as advertised. The potato bun was a miss for me. The bottom was so soggy it was falling apart. We were staying at the hotel so we chose to eat here because it was getting late and other places close at 8pm. Half was cold because it was made early and sat. One daughters burger had no bun because the they "ran out". Had to just get my wife's Cobb salad to go and she ate on the boat because it came out last ( not sure how that worked). My other daughters burger was ordered medium rare and was served way overdone (hard). No adjustment to the bill offered. Would not go here again. Our server couldn't have been nicer and the chili cheese fry appetizer was delicious. Other than that the rest of the meal was a huge letdown. They advertise a full bar but it was very limited. I ordered a medium burger with their sauce on the side. The bun was wet the burger dry. My wife ordered a pizza with pretzel crust and Detroit chili because it sounded interesting. We miss the live bands and dance floor that used to be when this was Jacks. There are burger places all over the place. The reviews I see so far are terrible and I don't think we will be going to try it out. We went one time, walked in, it looked like it was set up for a wedding, not a burger joint. The place was dead. We turned around and walked out. The community misses Jacks and how it used to be. This is not a place to go to for a night out on the town anymore.
