Then I came here and saw a lot of bad reviews and was pretty surprised. I have liked the dollar menu lately, so have been grabbing it here and there. Every time the food has been made quickly, served hot and tasty, and the service has been great. During one recent trip, one of the cars ahead of me had a huge order, so I had to wait a few minutes. The employee was very kind in addressing my wait, which I wasn't worried about. Just today there happened to be several cars in line when I got there. The chicharrón tacos might be my favorite and it's because they serve the crispiest chicharrón on top of smashed beans (frijoles refritos) and I think it's genius. The esquites (corn in a cup) is also out of this world. Pro tip : if dining in, be sure to grab some salsas and toppings from their salsa cart. The chicken is okay, passable, but bland. The tenders are almost tasteless. If you don't dip them in one of their sauces, it's disappointing. The pictures attached to this review show you the difference between the wings Popeye's advertise and what they serve you IRL. The worst offender on their menu is their biscuit. It's so dry and hard that it might as well be a doorstop. I can't imagine anyone eating those. There is also a problem with items being out of stock, and you can't buy a big box of chicken at this location. I've never met a polite staff member at this location. They sound annoyed when you order, and they lack the incredible care and manners of Chick-fil-A or Cane's. They are an amateur team that shouldn't be running a restaurant that serves our community. The last issue to raise is the price. It is expensive beyond what it should be for low-quality food and rude service. With so many chicken options in St. Cloud, I can't imagine one reason to go back to Popeye's.
