Why won't you let me buy things from you? Like soup and beer? But I digress... We came here for lunch on the day before Thanksgiving and sat on the patio. Our server was oddly absent throughout the meal, usually showing up after we asked someone else to help us with something we were waiting on. I think part of the problem was that it is an automatic gratuity for tables of six or more and we were six plus a toddler. After about twenty minutes (and going to the server stand where servers were hanging out talking and asking them to please find our server) we were able to order. After he put in our order, I asked if I could snag a cup of soup. He immediately brought me a spoon.... and then we waited. The burgers arrived, at which point I didn't need the soup anymore. Then a bowl (not cup) of the soup arrived, which I declined. Again. The food itself was pretty good. The bacon had been cooked in advance and lost its flavor and texture. The salmon for the salmon was ordered at medium rare and came out closer to medium well and with almost no seasoning. We waited and eventually had to flag someone else down for some salt and pepper. A couple of us wanted another beer partway through the meal, but the server had gone absent again so we asked the busser.... who rolled his eyes before getting the beer for us. In the end, if the service was improved and the burgers a little less assembly-lined, this place would live up then quality and reputation it once had. read more

I wasn't super thrilled with this location of Burger Up. I had only been to the Franklin location and was under the impression that they were similar, but the menu was a bit different. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was super busy. I made a reservation on Yelp and it took about 45 min for our party to get in. I ordered a normal burger with house fries and it was just average. Nothing ridiculously special. Even though the menu was different, they still had that signature aoili sauce. read more

I've ordered here *frequently* through Postmates, DoorDash, etc. I've gone in to the restaurant tons of times. People seemed nice, reliably solid burger. Reliably solid, that is, if you have their aioli white sauce. The first time I ordered from here, they included it on the side. Great! So ordered delivery from there again, including a note in the comments to make sure to include it. Only, this time? Didn't include it. Ok. Next time? I'm sure it was a mistake, let's give it another shot. Make sure to ask them nicely in the comments of the order, and offer to pay extra for it if need be. Is it in there? Nope. This happens enough that I finally call them and complain--am I like, offending you by requesting this stuff or something? It's a side, part of the order. Is it like, deliberate to withhold it or am I being crazy? She's apologetic, refunds the order. Ok. Soon thereafter my girlfriend orders from there, gets violently ill. Food poisoning, from them, for sure. Tonight I figured I would order delivery, really wanted a burger. Let's do Burger Up. Asked nicely in the comments for it. Order arrives, I open 'er up--two sides of neatly packaged ketchup and that's it. Wouldn't including this stuff be as automatic as the sides of their awful house ketchup? Or the totally useless pickle? I gotta hope I'm lucky enough to get a side of this stuff, even though it is literally a necessity in making it worth ordering from there? So I called, asked for my money back. Guy puts me on hold for 20 minutes before some idiot named Troy tells me the best he can do is a gift card. I said I wanted my money back. "You ordered through Postmates, so, sorry." So ok, I think, now I'm definitely getting my money back. Not only is a gift card extremely lame, the guy lied to my face--a much nicer, more hospitable manager found it easy to do this exact thing. I contacted Postmates, and they offered to refund about $10 out of what came to about $17 total, and the reason they couldn't refund the entire balance was because Burger Up specifically declined to give a refund. It is a B- burger served to you by snotty jerks. Just go somewhere else. I do want to apologize though for my part in insulting the delicate Burger Artistes preparing my order by requesting some of the sauce they offer for my order. I got the pimento burger, which was AHMAZING, and my boyfriend got the Woodstock burger, which he also said was great. The Jack Daniels sauce that they put on the Woodstock burger was awesome. Burger Up is one of my top visited restaurants since moving here. The food never disappoints (unless delivered. Before COVID, I would visit once every 1-2 weeks, but of course, now I'm eating there once every 1-2 months. The Food: The Honey Dijon Aioli is one of my favorite sauces of all time. My wife, our baby and I visited today Burger up. We were craving burgers and fries. With a sad face I need to say, we won't be coming back to this place again. For starters we ordered: Mac and cheese bites and Caesar salad. Bites - were ok - some balls came out completely cold and some just warm. We ordered for our baby slider with fries. Ohh guys let me tell about FRIES : absolutely No good! Grease soaked in oil, just not right! Slider was as bad as fries. Bun was burned and the little slider was over cooked - my baby didn't touch anything! After seeing his burger we cancelled our order for bison and we cashed out. This place is really great! Went for happy hour woch is way worth it. The mules are absolutely amazing. Bartenders were nice and laid back and the music was soft and chill. Oh Burger Up, you make the best darn salmon burger out there, as simple as it is. Thank you for giving options to those who can't have red meat! This is literally why I come here. Their truffle fries can be added to that list too with their house made ketchup. Speaking of, I'm running out. Luckily, you guys sell it because I would probably sneak a bottle in my purse it's that good. If you decide to venture in here, get here early or later. Peak dining hours will give you a good 45 minute to an hour wait at least. Luckily, there is plenty of people watching in 12 South so you will never get bored. The sweet potato fries were ok, but I don't really like how thick the cut was. Came here for happy hour (Sun-Fri 3-6pm) and ordered 2 sliders. One was oktoberfest, their special, and the other was the woodstock. Both were great! I felt the bun was a bit on the cold side, but the innards were just fine (meat, cheese, bacon). I cannot say which one I enjoyed more, since they were both so great. I love their honey ketchup. Who doesn't love an incredible burger, great drinks, cool atmosphere, and cool part of town. Parking can get tricky but it's all worth it.

VERY upscale burger joint. My boyfriend and I came in wearing jeans & we felt very out of place. Definitely more of a "dress up in your Sunday best" burger place. The potato skins were some of the best I've ever had. The fries and the bloody Mary's were also pretty amazing. The burgers were just ok. They weren't bad by any means, but they weren't all that and not worth the high price tag in my opinion. They were cooked medium perfectly, but were still somewhat dry. The meat/bun ratio could be approved on to. A little more meat, a little less bun. The meat was half the size of the bun. I wouldn't order another burger there (tried them twice but still ehhh) but I'd go there again and eat like 12 million potato skins with a few bloody Mary's in a heartbeat. Although, I do think for the $$$ you should get more than 4 potato skins. read more

We stopped by the restaurant in the area. The service was ok even though there were only a few people in there. took a while to get our orders and didn't really check on us. The food was ok. We got the Woodstock burger, there was minimal flavor. The wings were ok... but the truffle fries were really good and the sauce was really good. So they got an "ok" score. read more

As a visitor to Nashville, it seems like this place is a staple to the 12 South neighborhood. I was flabbergasted at the lack of a wait time for a party of three on a Saturday night, but I'm not complaining. We started off with drinks, and per usual, I had to sample the local brew (Yazoo Dos Perros-Brown Ale). To share, we had the kale salad, which was ample enough to share. I had the Woodstock Burger, which contained benton's bacon, tennessee sweetwater white cheddar, and jack daniels maple ketchup. It was really good! The homemade fries were a nice touch as well. Every now and then I decide to visit my little sister in Nashville. Mostly I come to visit her so I can eat here. Important things to note: 1. I have read three strange reviews complaining about the napkins. Rest assured, they're great! 2. The marathon burger is the best burger for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. I ordered the marathon pattie on top of a kale salad and it was drool worthy. 3. All the fries are good. Come with friends and have everyone order one of each so you can try all of them. 4. I am stumped by the good reviews but perhaps this place lacks consistency. There are days they serve their best and most likely there are times when it fails to do their best. Unfortunately, my experience was of the latter. We ordered the fried mac and cheese bites. The flavor of the mac and cheese was amazing but it was deep-fried at either a high temp or for too long-or both. I could taste grease in every bite and it is still stuck on my tongue. The burger was a savior. I ordered the byrd and I enjoyed it. A gourmet take on chik fil A! The portion size could have been bigger because of the price and compared to other burger/sandwich sizes on the menu. What went wrong? The fries. OMG worst fries of my life. Douched in oil, soggy and a grease bomb. I love my fries and I couldn't even eat more than a few. How does a burger joint go wrong with fries so bad. The after taste was old grease. And then the customer service was weak. We had to wait a while to take our check and we were on a tight schedule. The attitude was friendly, don't get me wrong, it was slow. I got the pimento cheeseburger with truffle fries. Ordered my burger medium and it was overcooked, but it tasted so good I didn't even care.
