Wait, whut? Other people didn't love this place? I find that pretty hard to believe. Or maybe they were just there early on before this place found it's groove. Anyway, I'm angry it took me over a year to finally get here. This whole time there have been super tasty, and reasonably priced burgers right down the road from me? And I don't have to go all the way to downtown Raleigh (Chuck's) or Durham (Bull City) to get them? Don't get me wrong, those two afore mentioned places are the bomb, and there are others I still need to check out as well, but what's not to love about Burger Fi? Sure it's in a kind of weird shopping mall with a Trader Joe's and maybe the weirdest collection of other stores in the universe (cash to gold place, pet store, outdoor store, I think an NC license plate place?) but what it lacks in a cool address it makes up for in taste. And again, this place really isn't that expensive. And they have a burger with freaking eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon on! Come on people. The fries are crazy fresh and tasty and they have a nice selection of craft brews on tap. The place is clean and the staff was super friendly. I have nothing but good things to say. HORRIBLE! A friend and I stopped in for lunch yesterday, and let me say, what a disappointment- in every way! I opted for a "Single" Cheeseburger with mushrooms, fries, and a drink. What a joke of a meal! When I first looked at the burger, I thought I was looking at a McGriddle size breakfast sandwich. That's exactly what it looked like with their name branded on what had to have been a frozen bun! The patty was smaller than a Wendy's single and had about 5 tiny, greasy mushrooms on it that didn't even cover the whole burger. I walked up to the counter and actually asked if this was typical size and presentation. The manager was rude and had nothing to say except, "Yes, that's a single, right?" So fine if portions for their meats are kid-size, if taste and quality make up for it...but that was the worst part. It was completely cooked to death, dry, and flavorless. Perhaps they know this, and that's why they overcompensate with an enormous portion of very expensive, greasy fries. But know this... if you want any seasoning on your fries, be prepared to pay extra! Seriously? Yes! Even to have "cajun spices" sprinkled on there, there's additional cost. Every tiny thing you want to add is extra at this place. I can't say enough bad things about this joke of a burger joint. Even fast food burgers are better than this! Go Elsewhere! Burgers that stay with you till the next day. I burped this burger all day long and next day too. It tasted good but i did not want to burp it long after eating it. Maybe because im not a fan of red meats and hamburgers are really strong. I get the veggie burger and that is soooo good. Love it. The garlic aioli fries are really yummy too. Fries are just a tiny bit over cooked BUT I'll that over undercooked. Personally like burger 21 better but I will probably be back at some point. read more

BurgerFi has several upsides and I will go there on occasion, but they really are closer to a 3.5 (or 3.451 to be exact). They do many things well (fries, shakes, onions rings) but the burgers are pretty much glorified sliders. Don't get me wrong, they are delicious and a burger and fries will fill you up sufficiently. A BurgerFi combo will remedy even the worst grease deficiency but they haven't quite met that "ruin your entire day" standard that I look for in a $10 greasy burger combo. Their burgers aim to find some middle ground between Five Guys and In-And-Out Burger yet they just don't stack up (unintentional burger pun). When you go into Five Guys hung over for lunch and throw down $10 or $11 for a filthy Five Guys combo, your taste buds and ability to be worthless are thrown into overdrive. Maybe you don't want a big and greasy burger and that's why you love BurgerFi. For one, you're a lying, worthless colostomy bag. Two, why are you ordering a greasy burger if you are at all concerned about adding years to your life? BurgerFi is a good place and seems to be doing fine, but if you want to fully indulge when you are splurging on a burger, stick with Five Guys, Char Grill or a sit-down place. I had my first BurgerFi experience today. Not bad! I got the "BAD" Burger (Breakfast All Day) Burger. It was great! I got an order of fries to go with it. They have awesome french fries. I just got em plain. They have various toppings that you can get on the fries. The restaurant was clean and they have a neat outside patio area. The only knock I could give the place was that the burger seemed kinda small for a burger joint. If you're a huge eater like me, you may still leave hungry. For a person with a normal sized appetite (not a bottomless stomach eater like me), it should do just fine! read more

I must be on a strange burger kick. I'll have to stop soon, but this place is so convenient, it's a good thing I'm moving a little further soon. Having already been to the Cary location, I wasn't surprised by the format this time around. I'm glad something decent got added to this plaza since TJs was really the only reason to visit. I really like the abundance of outdoor seating. Burgers are a little pricey, but I'm less disgusted with myself after eating one here. They serve them less greasy and neat, helping me avoid making a mess. Fries are usually great, although I did have one overcooked serving. 4 stars for this really good middle-of-the-road burger joint. Ridiculous prices for fast food self service. Tiny burgers, mushy bread, stingy portions of fries and onion rings. Just a terrible value. Will stick to Red Robin for full service or Wendy's for self-service. Perhaps the overpaid yuppie crowd drawn here by Trader Joe's might eat here, but most working people will find a better way to spend their money. Don't see a long future for BurgerFi. UPDATE - 1/16/2013 About a week ago, I got a message from Burger Fi through yelp telling me someone from Headquarters would contact me to discuss my issues. I gave them my phone number. Never got a call. I think from the comment history with a common thread of outrageous pricing, Burger Fi knows what's wrong but doesn't have a way to fix it. Upscale angus beef burgers (they also have a prime brisket burger - will try next time). This is equivalent or one step above a Five Guys burger joint, with a much nicer seating area. They also have a vastly more expansive menu over the aforementioned, including several types of hotdogs along with ice cream & I think shakes. I had a single cheeseburger, a NY hotdog and a single serving of fries (like 5 guys too many fries for one). The burger was tasty and juicy, the hotdog was decent, the fries appeared to be russet with a deeply fried look and taste with a kosher like salt covering. They also have the upscale Coca Cola fountain soda machine which gives you the ability to create hundreds of different variants of beverages, a nice novelty that the kids will love. I will be back, although it is kind of pricey, so taking a family will cost you some $$$. read more

I've been here twice now. I'll be back for the fries for sure. And probably the onion rings. Nothing else though. Burger doesn't have much flavor, now does it? That's a bummer. The custard is kinda weird. I love getting frozen custard and always manage to find some when I travel. This is not your normal frozen custard. It leaves an oily/fatty aftertaste and seems like it has a lot of air in it. ??? Weird, no? Ah well, it's hard to find good fries and I definitely loved me some of those. First time at this restaurant. Had the single with fries and onion ring. OmG! The onion rings were colossal and the fries were great. Not soggy. Burger was delish. Sat on terrace. Fans were noisy but food was so good you really didn't notice the squeaking much. This is a MUST TRY place. read more

I have been in BurgerFi several times - I have always enjoyed the experience but this time was exceptional. I had a cashier today (Charlie) who was not only super friendly but very meticulous. I always order the urban style fries with the garlic mayo aioli on the side. When I came up to pick up my order Charlie was still at the register but he remembered my special order and when he saw me walk up, he slid over and checked to make sure it was correct. Best smile. Seeing that I've been making Burgerfi a once a week lunch stop during this old-lady pregnancy, I figured it was time I give them a review! So far I've tried two different burgers and a Chicago dog, and OF COURSE the fries. Every time. The amount of fries you get in a regular is definitely worth the price. I'm not drinking at lunch lately, but they seem to have a decent set of taps. It's more casual than I expected it to be, more like Five Guys or Firewurst than Cowfish (I don't know why that's what I was expecting!) But casual is good. The prices are decent, but I was a little surprised at the price of the brisket burger I ordered (around $10). I also thought the name was misleading...this tasted nothing like brisket, but just a regular double pattie hamburger. The toppings were good, but I didn't think it hit the $10 mark. The fries are great, a little on the greasy side, but since I get mine to go the bag soaks up a little on my way back to work. I was not impressed with the parmesan herb topping...it's way too much cheese (and I didn't think that was possible). The cajun is the best seasoning if you go for that, and I like my fries crispy, which you can totally ask for. Speaking of to-go orders, while it will be awesome when this location gets online ordering, phone ordering could not be any easier. The first time I placed an order, when I walked in there was a huge line and I didn't know what to do. One of the line cooks noticed me wavering and actually called out, "are you Alison?" and motioned me up to the other register and had someone take care of me. Even though they wait to serve your fries when you arrive, the to-go process could not be more quick or easy. I LOVE that, since I'm breezing in on a 30-minute break. If I could give 3.5 stars, I definitely would. However the price helped me decide between 3 and 4. Since they are close to work and make my lunch super easy, I will definitely continue to swing by when I get a burger or dog and fry craving! read more

As soon as we walked in today the whole place stunk of chemicals. The air system was piping in the smell from the nail salon a couple of doors down. Yuck! Those ladies at the salon wear masks when working with chemicals so breathing this in or having it permeate the food can't be good. Someone should call OSHA. read more

Their "Classic Cheeseburger" (think Double, Double from In N Out) is $5.97 w/out any additional toppings (some are free & some are $1 ea) Conceivable for this burger to exceed $10 depending on what you were to add on. We also ordered the Cry & Fries (3 lrg onion rings and small basket of fries) Again - overpriced @ $4.97 - the fries are good though. Onion Rings not worth it. + 2 "freestyle" fountain drinks. These are the 100 flavor Coke machines $3.94 for 2 -- TOTAL BILL = $22.47 We won't become regulars with these prices - but worth checking out at least once or twice. read more

When I read BurgerFi's website, I was really excited about their standards for the beef they serve so I dropped by last week. I was so sad. And broke. A bacon cheeseburger cost $10. When they said the total, instead of quietly being shocked, I should have just cancelled my order. The burger was dripping with grease. My bottom bun was soaked and on my first bite, my mouth was flooded with grease. After the first bite, I couldn't really taste anything other than grease. The service was exceptional, though. The cashier was polite, knowledgeable, and smiling. The employee who handed me the tray had a huge smile on her face, as well. Working in fast food can often beat you down, but everyone I encountered there seemed relaxed and happy. That is why I gave 2 stars, the employees. Save some money and hit up Five Guys (for super casual) or splurge and hit CowFish (for HUGE burgers). read more

I've ordered takeout from here 2 times and both times they said it would be 5-10 minutes and each time my food has not been ready. The first time it was 45 minutes before close and they had turned off the fryer so my fires took over 20 minutes and the second time I called ahead just for fries and got there and they hadn't dropped the fries down yet. They claim they want to serve hot and fresh but don't tell you on the phone so what's the point in calling ahead when they aren't ready when you arrive? Both times they have given me coupons for free food to come back but these experiences aren't giving me too much incentive to. read more

A young lady named Carolina took our order and was so incredibly attentive and polite that I would return here over a competitor for service alone. Stopped here for a quick bite before heading to the beach last night.My friend and I decided to order a quinoa burger and a cheeseburger (with cheddar instead of American) and split them. We also split fries. Our dinner wasn't so quick - took 25 minutes to receive it. They give you a buzzer which rings when your order is ready. Waiting aside, both the quinoa and the cheeseburger were tasty, but very messy b/c of the special sauce, so I'll likely skip the sauce next time. The fries were exceptional and a small order was plenty for us to split. I'll stop by on my next trip to Trader Joes but won't travel out of my way for it. We have been several times to BurgerFi and have never been disappointed. The burgers are fresh, delicious and the topping choices truly allow you to "make it your own". The fries are good but the Herb Parmesan fries are over the top good. One suggestion if you have never been before is to get a menu located near the register and stand to the side to make your choices. There are MANY toppings to choose from and when you step to the register to place your order they expect you to know what you want like NOW. It can be a but overwhelming the first time.
