We've been on a trying new burger places kick lately and this has been on the list. Maybe it's when we went, since it was around 11:30, but the man behind the counter immediately greeted us. We'd already been looking at the burgers online and knew we wanted to try the Bourbon Bacon and the Cajun, so those are what we got. We split them, and both were very good. So, I'm dining out with my youngest daughter who doesn't like a thick burger, but prefers the thin ones, or a smashed one. These are sort of smashed or thin, but you get 2. I really enjoyed both, but the Bourbon Bacon was amazing. This is NOT lean beef, nope, it's the kind you'd use at home to make a good, flavor-filled burger, and they are just that! The fries are good, and you get plenty. However, when I go back, I'm going to request they crisp them up a little more. They also didn't seem to have been salted, but easy fix. If I'm going to dip a fry, I want a mixture of ketchup (Heinz only) and Texas Pete. The Heinz was on each table, along with salt, pepper, and napkins (and you're going to need them), but the hot sauce was I'm guessing Frank's red hot........which is fine, and they had 2 full bottles of that. It was clean. The staff was friendly. The food was very good. Again, the ONLY problem for me, and it's just me, is I'd want the fries slightly crisper, but hey, I know for the next time. I made my order online and that was an easy, seamless process, and picked up in store. The employee that gave me my order was very personable and nice, and it was ready 10 mins early. The food was good, zero complaints, the pictures have more details on each thing I got. The dining seemed clean enough but the bathroom floor was sticky, I didn't like that. read more

Burger was good, that was the only good thing. First, vacuuming/floor cleaning the whole time, very loud, can't hear anything going on. Second, ordered, and paid for(!), creamy ranch and ketchup ($0.50 for ketchup). There's a printed sign in bold and underlined saying you need to pay for your sauces with your sides or they are ALL $0.80 after checkout. Didn't get either. Walked up, waited a minute for anyone to realize I was there because it was so loud in the restaurant, (they only realized I was there and came out of the back when someone else walked into the store and the door chimed.) and said verbatim "I paid for ranch and ketchup", got handed ranch then the dude said the ketchup is on the table. Why did we pay for ketchup then, give me a cup at least???? I was already annoyed but whatever it's only 50 cents. Then they messed up some other couples order while we were there too, and were arguing with the customer. Overall terrible service, every customer in the building was frustrated and unhappy. Not to mention they left their tea brewing urn/canister on top of the machine and left their machine on wasting power, even though it wasn't actively brewing. Yikes. Also, didn't like the posters everywhere passive aggressively degrading the customers. One said "the tables are for your burgers, not your elbows!". Weird... Worst takeout experience I've ever had. The order was missing tater tots and ranch, and everything else was just tossed loosely into a greasy paper bag with no proper containers. The food wasn't hot, tasted awful, and made my wife sick to her stomach. We had to cook a second dinner afterward. I spent $40 on what felt like garbage. When I called, the manager refused to refund anything unless I brought the food back, and said he'd only cover the missing items, ignoring that the entire order was inedible. We tried this place for the first time yesterday with friends. You have to order at the counter or on a huge computer screen. We opted to use the computer and it walks you through all the steps. It made me feel the service was very lacking. You get your own drinks and silverware etc as well. The seating area is nice and place was clean. It is just like a fast food restaurant though. Second time here and definitely had a great lunch this time. Mushroom and Swiss burger cooked perfectly, fries were good (and I'm not a fry person), service fast and all evoloyees very friendly. Restaurant very clean. We ate inside but there is outdoor seating under a canopy. Parking is a mess here. The spaces are very narrow and frankly there just isn't enough parking available for how many stores are here. ordered 2 impossible burgers. Both were mussy and UNDER COOKED! Didnt see this until i got home very disappointing. I actually cooked then more before they we're eaten because of the mushyness. Also toppings we're very scarce. I had 6 "small pieces " of chopped onoon. The fact tht I could count them tells you how small thy were. The pieces would not even fill a teaspoon! I have been here a few times since I discovered this location a few months ago. This is my kind of burger - prepared as ordered and good and "sloppy" - always the sign of a great burger! We went here while we were on vacation for Christmas in Raleigh. Our milkshakes were phenomenal and so were the fries my family absolutely loved their burger and chicken tenders. My chicken sandwich was a weird chewyness but had great flavor. The restaurant was very clean and updated and what you would expect from a burger place. The reason I give it 5 stars was for the service the staff went above and beyond were so nice and accommodating. I actually saw them walk the food to someone's care who had a child and make sure they got out of the restaurant and into the car with all they need. You don't get service like that nowadays we will definitely return when we are back in Raleigh. read more

I ordered a kid's meal, and asked for only lettuce, pickles, and mustard. I received a burger with tomato, lettuce, mayo, and mustard. I returned to ask for correct burger to be made. Stumbled across Wayback Burgers tucked away in a strip mall near the mall. Kind of surprised I'd not heard this place is here - unless you're in the parking lot you wouldn't know it's here. Turns out the burgers here are very good. I had the classic, all the way. 2 patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, ketchup. Plenty of options for other toppings, but I stuck with traditional. Beef is fresh, not frozen and grilled to order. Toppings are fresh. This was a good burger! Every bit as good as 5 Guys (but with two patties), at about the same price. Fries were crisp and not greasy, lightly salted. These not as good as 5 Guys, but still very good. Interior of the shop is clean and organized, about 20 tables plus a few outside. Our service was excellent. Orders taken quickly, and the food brought to the table. Plenty of other options to try on the menu including a couple of "signature burgers". So a return trip is in order. read more

Wayback burgers is in the same plaza as my favorite donut shop so I always see it but have never stopped it. Decided to order it for delivery this evening using an Uber eats code. The burgers were not good. One burger was mushy and the other burger did not taste good and the bacon had a strange taste to it. The order of onion rings were burnt and the only salvageable item in the whole order were the cajun tater tots. I like that you can order ahead and pick up your food. They practice social distancing here by using a table in front of the counter to create extra distance. We both had the double burgers, I had the bacon double. We were impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the portion size. The onion rings were slightly greasy, but still good. Since most burger restaurants had reduced their menus due to covid-19 restrictions, I wanted a different burger. My wife and I had lunch there today and it was very good. We both enjoyed our burgers. The burger itself was good. Definitely not a preformed patty, so I liked that a lot. But I'd definitely suggest ordering a double patty as they are a bit thin. The buns are nice and soft and don't over power the burger. And if you order a side of fries, you do get quite a bit. The gentleman at the register was very nice. I think he must have been the owner. I'm always looking for a good eating establishment that we can go to after night church on Sunday. Most places close at 7:00pm, which doesn't allow us time to eat and fellowship. Then I noticed a Wayback Burgers within the Plantation Square Shopping Center, Which closes at 9:00pm. I took a group out to the Wayback Burgers and most are picky eaters and the others will eat anything. I found the dining area to be clean and roomy, allowing a relaxed and spaciousness eating experience. The bathrooms were also clean and well stocked, paper towels and hand soap. The employees were friendly and patient as they took the orders and explained the menu. They did an outstanding job getting all the orders right. Everyone enjoyed the burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and macaroni and cheese bites. My daughter also enjoyed their milkshakes. A coupon we received in the mail is what brought us here. Located right by Triangle Town Center, it was easy to get to. The burgers were very good, in my opinion, similar to the shake shack style burgers. Their fries were also really good! The milkshake wasn't my favourite but it was decent. The staff was very nice and brought the food to our table. If it weren't for the coupon we had, we probably would not have chosen to eat here. I ordered a chili cheese dog - I wish there was an option to get the movie theater style cheese rather than a slice of cheese, but this is a little gourmet so not the worst.
