Worst takeout experience I've ever had. The order was missing tater tots and ranch, and everything else was just tossed loosely into a greasy paper bag with no proper containers. The food wasn't hot, tasted awful, and made my wife sick to her stomach. We had to cook a second dinner afterward. I spent $40 on what felt like garbage. When I called, the manager refused to refund anything unless I brought the food back, and said he'd only cover the missing items, ignoring that the entire order was inedible. Total waste of money and the most unprofessional handling of a refund I've ever seen.

Receipt

The food is delicious. Be careful when you order. If you order the single burger and tots combo for $8.99, it comes with no sauces and lettuce and tomato. If you ask for pickle or ketchup or mayo, you just went outside the combo special and can expect a $5.79 upcharge to the burger, making it well over $12. That's a lot to pay for a soda.

Second time here and definitely had a great lunch this time. Mushroom and Swiss burger cooked perfectly, fries were good (and I'm not a fry person), service fast and all evoloyees very friendly. Restaurant very clean. We ate inside but there is outdoor seating under a canopy. Parking is a mess here. The spaces are very narrow and frankly there just isn't enough parking available for how many stores are here. Side note - my daughter frequently orders Wayback thru Door Dash and it's always cooked right and packaged well!

Hello city of Raleigh ; my honest review is this place is decent place for a quick and easy meal but it's just a basic burgers and hotdogs restaurant Give them a try if you love fries! My rating f burger is a 5/10 Hotdog W/ chili 5/10 Fries 10/10 made fresh to perfection On the upside the customer services was A1 and the restaurant was super cute and layback. Thank you for having us!

Barely any onions

ordered 2 impossible burgers. Both were mussy and UNDER COOKED! Didnt see this until i got home very disappointing. I actually cooked then more before they we're eaten because of the mushyness. Also toppings we're very scarce. I had 6 "small pieces " of chopped onoon. The fact tht I could count them tells you how small thy were. The pieces would not even fill a teaspoon! Disappointing, I will not revisit.I'll go to BurgerKing on the corner instead!

I have been here a few times since I discovered this location a few months ago. This is my kind of burger - prepared as ordered and good and "sloppy" - always the sign of a great burger! I order the Carolina Burger, which includes slaw and chili (and onions, which I omit). I pretty sure that the chili is made on-premises, as it certainly doesn't taste like someone out of a can. The sides are great as well - I highly recommend the chips. This is a hard-working staff. The restaurant is usually busy, and they are always hustling behind the counter.

This is what passes for a $7 order of fried pickles.

Burgers are decent enough and the tots are good, but after getting shorted (twice!) on my fried pickles, I won't be ordering from them again.

KIDS MEAL - KIDS' CHEESEBURGER

I ordered a kid's meal, and asked for only lettuce, pickles, and mustard. I received a burger with tomato, lettuce, mayo, and mustard. I returned to ask for correct burger to be made. The manager told the employee no, and then proceeds to give me back my same burger with a different top bun, but my still bitten off bottom bun. I returned once again, the manager was very rude, and didn't offer a solution. Just told me that we told the server we wanted tomato ( which we didn't), but could not justify the mayo... He told the employee to throw pickles on my sandwich. First time experience, and will never return.

Let me start it by saying, BEST BURGERS I HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME.. The meat, the lettuce, the tomatoes, everything tastes fresh and new. Also their customer service was outstanding, I told the employee I have a couple of allergies and he gladly told me that he would make sure my food doesn't get even remotely contaminated with my allergies.. I am definitely giving this place a 5/5

Lunch!

Stumbled across Wayback Burgers tucked away in a strip mall near the mall. Kind of surprised I'd not heard this place is here - unless you're in the parking lot you wouldn't know it's here. Turns out the burgers here are very good. I had the classic, all the way. 2 patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, ketchup. Plenty of options for other toppings, but I stuck with traditional. Beef is fresh, not frozen and grilled to order. Toppings are fresh. This was a good burger! Every bit as good as 5 Guys (but with two patties), at about the same price. Fries were crisp and not greasy, lightly salted. These not as good as 5 Guys, but still very good. Interior of the shop is clean and organized, about 20 tables plus a few outside. Our service was excellent. Orders taken quickly, and the food brought to the table. Plenty of other options to try on the menu including a couple of "signature burgers". So a return trip is in order.

Great spot! Burgers were very good and my family of 4 all ate for just over $40. Will definitely go again soon.

I ordered the crispy cauliflower app which was delish! Don't let the raisins sway your decision - it's suttle but just right with the cauli. They add a romesco sauce that's flavorful add capers to add the salty goodness. Loved this! I also ordered the meatball app which was plenty. They were perfect size and more than enough for two. The sauce was rich and bold with flavor and a sprinkle of goat cheese was just right. I will return and try a few more apps next time.

I had yet to visit and the dining room was small but separate from the bar area which was nice and the wine as decor was unique. Met my daughter and roommate for lunch and while it was "fine" I'd leave it there. The water didn't have ice which is fine. That said our server never refilled it and only after a switch of servers were we offered a refill. I got the Brie and Prosciutto on Focaccia and it was fine. When one upgrades to fries I expect it to be an upgraded fry. It was fine. Our second server was very sweet but the service overall left something to be desired. There was no table visit at any time and I was grateful for the incredible company because outside that, this spot didn't make the grade.

This was our first time going to village tavern…read more It was packed on a weekday afternoon! We got seated very quickly which was a surprise. The food was excellent. Service was great. I heard some people next to us complain about the wait time for their food but given how busy it was, I don't think it was insanely long. We sat on the porch and it was really nice dinner! Will definitely be returning to try other menu options!

The NY Strip arrived more than well done, so we told the waitress and she apologized and sent it back to the kitchen. As I was eating the meatloaf, I noticed an off taste and texture. I looked closer and realized it was still pink/slimy/raw! How can meatloaf be raw? It's supposed to be fully cooked first and then grilled. Whoever sliced it from the "loaf" should have noticed it was not cooked before throwing it on the grill! We notified the manager when he came to apologize for the NY strip, so he took the meatloaf back to the kitchen. When the NY Strip came back out, my husband cut into it and it was shiny and purple inside, from top to bottom...absolutely rare. The waitress agreed it was rare and took it back to the kitchen again. When it came out for the third time, it was perfect (third time's a charm, I guess?). The only saving grace was the kind waitress who felt awful about the sub par food. The kitchen put her in an uncomfortable position, but she handled it with grace. We ordered the chocolate torte for dessert and it was very good, but that's the only thing I'd return for.

This adorable restaurant had such a cozy, small town vibe, but with such a wide range of menu options from basic to refined. We were seated near the kitchen and Carl helped guide us through options, particularly one of the specials which we adored: Double Bacon Parmesan Hash -- so many layers of flavor, enticing and balanced. The waffles and pancakes were a highlight for the kids, my smoked salmon eggs Benedict was decent. For drinks, I appreciated the coffee refills to keep us warm that chilly morning and the kids loved the Tangerine Dream drink with tummy cream foam on top, while the adults tried out the Cinnamon Toast Drink, garnished with a cinnamon stick. Definitely would visit First Watch again! Although we realized it's a chain here, it definitely had small business vibes and did a great job with the food, service, and a lovely environment. Then, I moved inside to see what the delay was, and the host tried to seat me at the counter. Really? I'd been waiting 30 minutes, and you won't seat me at the empty table. So I declined and said I'd wait for my table. I never got a notice on my phone either, so what was the point of that system if you need to be inside the small waiting area to be called? I could see the open table, but I was not seated for another ten minutes. They didn't want me at the big table. Then it was interesting to watch all the staff walk by and ask who had my table. How do they not know which tables each person has? Someone eventually came by, asked if I'd been helped, and took my drink and food orders, since I'd been waiting quite a while. I ordered a half-and-half tea. I'm not sure she knew what that was, as she kept saying "unsweet". The first tea was half-and-half, but the refill was unsweetened. I went with the chicken pot pie, as that is what caught my eye. I expected a delicious dish, but what I received was disappointing. The ratio of the chicken, gravy and veggies was way off. I'd say there was enough low-quality processed chicken for three to four people, a little gravy and even less veggies. I had a bowl of processed chicken cubes with a splash of sauce, not what I had in mind. I usually skip the pastry part, but I ate that as I needed something other than chicken. I left some of the chicken in the dish. The waitress didn't even offer me a to-go box. It was that bad that I wouldn't eat it anyway. My check was brought out soon after I got my food. I don't understand the rush, but bringing the check early won't get me out any faster and lowers your tip. This was just a really bad experience, and I don't see myself returning. I have liked the food in the past.
