I've had Chunky & Bops on my radar for a while, and since I was finally in the area, I decided to stop by and I'm glad I did. I did come during the lunch rush and waited about 47 minutes, which is the only real downside. That said, the woman at the register was super communicative, apologized for the wait, and didn't dodge it or make excuses. I really appreciated that level of honesty and customer service. Now for the food... my cheesesteak was . They actually gave me an 18-inch even though I ordered a 12-inch because of the wait, and that thing was massive. More importantly, it was top tier. Easily one of the best cheesesteaks I've had, and that's saying a lot since I've hit plenty of great spots in Philly and Baltimore. The meat was perfectly seasoned, the toppings were fresh, and the bread was soft and on point. Would I go back again? Hell yes.

Me and my wifey usually go to jersey mikes or Jerry's to get a cheesesteak. We almost add extra steak to the sandwiches every time. This cheesesteaks Wow stuffed full of steak!! She says the best cheesesteak she's ever had. Me idk. Definitely a 10 though. Service was great except I don't like ordering from a kiosk. I would also like more customization with the food but again it was a 10. I didn't eat inside but it was clean, they just opened up.

I ordered online and grabbed two NFL Specials. Since the online ordering does not let you customize the sandwich, I assumed everything listed in the description would be included. I will say this. The food was ready much faster than the quoted time on the website. I know estimates usually factor in rushes and other variables, so that was a pleasant surprise. When I arrived, the space immediately stood out. It was very clean, had plenty of seating, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming. No complaints there at all. Once I got home and opened the cheesesteaks, that is where things fell a little short of the hype. Both sandwiches only had steak, cheese, onions, and a small amount of mayo. Unfortunately, the additional toppings listed in the description were missing. That was disappointing, especially since there was no option to edit or confirm toppings when ordering online. That said, the cheesesteak itself was still tasty. The fries were fine but pretty basic. Because this is a small business, I would absolutely give them another try. Next time, I would order in person instead of online to make sure everything on the sandwich matches what is advertised.

Heard about Chunky and Bop's, so I decided to give them a try. You can order online or when you arrive. The food is made to order. It was clean, spacious, and a very welcoming atmosphere from the woman taking the orders to the cooks as well as the owner who wanted to deliver well wishes to his patrons. I ordered the chicken cheese steak with fried onions and provolone cheese. It had a nice texture, and the cheese was blended evenly throughout the sandwich. As a born and raised Philadelphian, I do not like my sweet/hot peppers and pickles on the side. I want them sautéed and chopped with my chicken and then added to my roll. Otherwise, I feel like I have to build my sandwich before I eat it, and that takes away from my enjoyment of the sandwich. I give Chunky and Bop's 3/5. The sandwich is definitely good. The bread is fresh, but I didn't like that I had to add everything that is traditionally cooked on my sandwich. If you are in Landover, Md., be sure to support. Til we eat again...

This was one of the best cheesecakes I have had in a long time. Very quick service. The owner was super nice. The peppers were phenomenal and the steak was high quality. No thin cut dry cheesesteaks here. Definitely worth a try. Y'all know, I do not play about my reviews.

Not a big fan of cheesesteaks -- but I am now! Hands down, this is the best cheesesteak I have ever eaten, and we've traveled from Maryland to Philly many times searching for that perfect one. For anyone giving this place one star, I honestly can't believe it -- must be a rival company, because there's just no way! The food was exceptional, the business was clean and welcoming, and thservice was fast and friendly. This will definitely be our only cheesesteak spot from now on, and we're coming all the way from Accokeek to get it.

This was my first time ordering from Chunky and Bops. Unfortunately the day that I went to their Riverdale location it had closed and moved to its new location now in Landover. I ordered the steak sub with green peppers, onions with provolone cheese. I'm not a big cheese fan so my next sub will be with out cheese. The meat was tender and flavor filled. The bun was perfect, firm and not soggy from the sub innards. Service was great. I was greeted upon enteering and the young woman who took my order was very pleasant and took the time to explain the menu. The interior of the place is blah. There was a couple who was eating the when I ordered my food but most people ordered to go. This place is in an old shopping plaza so parking is plentiful. I definitely intend on going back.

I was so excited to come and try chunky and bops since I first heard about them but the location and wait times was not what I had hoped for. So when I heard they moved to their own building that was closer to my house I was excited and decided to drop by. The inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated and the customer service was excellent. Now let's get to the sandwich. I got the 18in cheesesteak with fries which can to about 30.00 with tip included. The fries were normal fries nothing to scream about. The sandwich was decent I was upset at the fact that I asked for Grilled onions and peppers and neither looked like they touched a grill. If I knew I was going to get raw onions instead of grilled onions I would've never asked for them. When they asked what you want on your sandwich I thought that it would be on the sandwich not me having to put my own condiments on it. It's nothing like a Philly cheesesteak but it not bad either. I will give them another try and see if things improve

Came here for a quick bite on a nice Friday afternoon and ordered from Chunky and Bop's. I ordered the cheesesteak with the mushrooms and peppers with sweet potato fries. The first bite was initially good and then I eventually had an aftertaste, I managed and ate it all so it wasn't that bad after all lol. They also added extra peppers, cheese, and pickles on the side. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp and loved the crinkly cut of them. Overall, it was pretty good for a quick bite. We also ordered drinks from Casper's, which they forgot to bring to our table, so I went to the bar to grab them.

This low score is strictly due to the lack of customer service. The food would receive a 3.5. Once we entered, the larger black lady said "pick up or take out?" No hello, no greeting, literally that's what she's screaming from behind the counter as soon as I opened the door. Once we got to the counter, she repeated herself, "pick up or take out?". Once I said take out, Ms. PhoneInHerHand, young light skin girl, approached the register, said nothing! Mind you, this is our FIRST time here. I'm looking around crazy for the menu, then Ms. PhoneInHerHand tapped the kiosk and a screen, which appears to be where you placed your order appeared. The screen does not immediately show what's in each steak n cheese, but Ms. PhoneInHerHand was so into what was on her phone she was no help. I ordered the 9" Steak Royal added ketchup and mayo. The person I was with asked for their Sunday special that is CURRENTLY on their site, "NFL Sunday's Get It and Go". Ms. PhoneInHerHand said they didn't have it, which was fine. My guest asked what other specials they had and Ms. PhoneInHerHand said "we have BOGO, you know what that is?". God is truly working on me, because me a few years ago I would've had a not so nice reply!! Anywho, they got that. Whole time Ms. PhoneInHerHand being smart, the deal was actually B2G1 free. SMH now why would we need THREE steak n cheese, but shame on us for not checking the receipt! Now, the food, I added ketchup and mayo to mine. The steak was good, the bread was not! I follow him on IG and several other people also commented about his bread which he stated he gets daily. But mine had an unpleasant pull to it. If the bread was better I could easily give it 4 stars. Also, I wish they had an option for a 6" because the 9" was a bit much for me. I also ordered onion rings, which were good, typical onion rings, but not worth $8. I did enjoy the pickles and peppers that came with it, I wish they provided more. I got a chance to taste the Ultimate Triple, since we had THREE, (Lol but smh) it too was tasty, again the bread was a bit hard, on one side on that one. For the amount they charge, I wouldn't make this a regular place to eat. On top of the lack of customer service, yeah, No!

I skipped the coffee, but the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was actually really good. Fresh, hot, and flavorful. The business is located in a strip mall and the space is very small. It feels more like an event venue than a traditional restaurant. When I arrived, the staff appeared to be preparing a large catering order, which I later found out was for a local elementary school. I appreciated seeing them support teachers beyond just the in-store promotion. The decor was probably my least favorite part. The pink aesthetic and overall setup felt a little dated and cheesy to me, but I could still tell the place has its audience. It gives very grown and sexy vibes and seems geared more toward a mature crowd. Overall, I enjoyed the sandwich, appreciated the Teacher Appreciation Week gesture, and liked seeing a local business support educators in the community.

Subject: Repeated Incorrect Orders - Request for Resolution…read more Dear Charleys Team, I am reaching out once again to express my ongoing frustration with the continued lack of accuracy and attention to detail at your Lanham, MD location. Today, June 8, 2025, I placed an order totaling $21.79, and once again, my food was prepared incorrectly. I clearly requested mayonnaise, ketchup, jalapeños, banana peppers, and raw onions on my sandwich -- and nothing else. However, I received a sandwich piled with lettuce, tomatoes, and other unwanted toppings that I did not ask for. On top of that, I asked for fries with no salt -- yet that request was also ignored. When I brought it to the staff's attention, the manager, who was in the middle of interviewing a potential employee, returned to tell me: "No, we don't grab that -- we don't pull the fries in there when they say no salt." That response is unacceptable and makes absolutely no sense. If the option for no salt is offered, it should be honored -- especially for customers who have dietary needs or preferences. It's extremely frustrating to spend my time and hard-earned money -- traveling from Washington, DC to Lanham -- only to receive food I cannot consume. At $21.79, my order should be prepared correctly the first time, without me needing to request missing items or explain my order repeatedly. Please provide a resolution that acknowledges this repeated issue and clearly outlines how your team plans to address it. Customers deserve better. Sincerely, Monica

The coastal seafood tasted better than it looks - despite how haphazard it seems, everything actually stuck to the slice. But as other reviews noted, the more extravagant pizzas usually limit the fancier toppings to literally one per slice, and that was true here as well. Meanwhile something like the Hawaiian didn't have nearly as much precision. We also ordered mozzarella sticks as a joke. Typical frozen fare, they were alright but we still don't understand why it comes with a biscuit. Literally never seen that ever. I mean if you're here and want pizza, I say go for it. We do not have one where I live, so I naturally get excited every time I'm near one, and I make it my mission to stop and get a slushie. I traditionally get the lemon slush or the lime slush. But unbeknownst to me, Sonic redid their menu. Since there isn't one close to my house, I had to update the app and sign back in. Then I tried to order my usual drink, but because it had been more than 90 days since my last visit, my previous order was gone. So I started looking through the menu, only to realize the lemon frozen slush and the lime frozen slush were no longer there. I literally spent over 30 minutes sitting in the Sonic stall scrolling through the app because you have to order through it to get the half-price slushes. Now they have these new slushes with some type of tea concentrate, and I already know I don't like green tea. I didn't want to risk paying for something I probably wouldn't enjoy, especially since there wasn't an option to sample it. So I opened my Maps app to see what was nearby. That's when I noticed that a young lady I'd been following on Instagram had her Italian ice shop close by. I thought, "Oh my goodness!" It was less than a mile away, so I drove over to Killa Italian Ice & Smoothie and picked up some lemonade and a slice of cake. After that, I thought, "Let me see what other small businesses I can support while I'm over here." I wasn't really interested in any of the other food options because they were things I could already get in Woodbridge. So I searched for bakeries and found Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, just a short drive away. I walked in, and to my surprise, they had a full restaurant menu in addition to their baked goods. Let me tell you, these people were so amazingly welcoming the moment I walked in. "Hey, sis!" "Hi, welcome!" I immediately felt at home, and I honestly haven't felt that way in an establishment in a very long time. I ended up telling the young lady behind the register about my whole Sonic adventure, and she said, "Well, let me let you try my chicken curry salad." Now, I didn't have the heart to tell her that I don't like chicken salad, so I said, "Okay." Let me tell you...that chicken curry salad was banging. I was like, "Oh wow. This is good." As we kept talking, I looked over the menu and realized I didn't want my usual comfort foods like pizza, collard greens, or macaroni. I wanted to try something different. So I ordered their Chicken with Attitude with rice and cabbage. The chicken had a Middle Eastern rustic flavor. It was roasted, incredibly tender, and unlike anything I'd had before. It's definitely a different taste and probably an acquired one, but I really enjoyed it. Although I'd only had that sample of the chicken curry salad, it was so good that I ordered half a pound of it to take home, along with a piece of pound cake. Like I said at the beginning, I DO NOT EAT chicken salad, but it completely surprised me. But beyond the food, they brought me a complimentary lemonade while I was sitting there eating. It tasted so fresh, like freshly squeezed lemon with other fresh fruit over ice. It was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Everywhere throughout the restaurant were little signs about genuine kindness. The whole place just felt welcoming. Being from Alabama, I grew up with Southern hospitality. You make eye contact, greet people, and make them feel at home. That's not meant to discredit businesses in DC, Maryland, or Virginia. This area is a melting pot of people from all over the world, and culturally, not everyone expresses hospitality the same way. But when I walked into Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, every single person embodied that welcoming spirit. It wasn't just one employee. It was the people behind the counter, the people coming out of the kitchen, and even those arriving for work. I just remember thinking, "Wow." I felt safe. I felt welcomed. I felt wanted. I felt at home. I felt like family. More than the food, I felt like I had found my tribe. I found my village. I honestly wish I lived closer because, if I did, I'd probably be there every day. Since moving to this area in 2009, that's the feeling I've been missing. If I could recommend Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes a million times over, it wouldn't just be because of the food. It would be because of the sense of belonging. It's that feeling of walking into a place where everybody knows your name, even when they don't. If you're going through something, this is the place to go. Not just to feed your belly, but to feed your soul.
