Ohhhhh boy we had been really looking forward to eating here. When the drive thru line was wrapped around the building we thought "this place has to be amazing!". My son had a baseball tournament a few blocks away and we decided to grab some food from here. We waited in the drive thru for over 15 minutes. It was fine we had a big break before his next game. We checked out the menu online and made our choice before getting to order. Customer service here is AMAZING!! Normally I would give a business 5 stars if their food was okay but had amazing customer service. Welllll the food here is less than just okay. We spent over 25 dollars on two meals and a milk shake. My son loves burgers and was super hungry so he immediately started eating the burger once we got it. To my surprise he stopped half way and then said "this is not at all what I thought it would be!". He stated that burgers we had grilled at home were better. He ate a few fries and then put the rest back in the bag. When we finally arrived back at the park I started to eat my burger. Yikes!!! Just looking at the burger, I questioned the taste. The burger was grey! Like fast food burgers. The burger had ton of veggies and the bread was pretty solid. When I took my first bite I knew not to expect much. Sadly it was very flavorless. My son was right, burgers we made at home were better. I only took two more bites and had a few fries and gave up! We needed up throwing away most of the food. Sooo disappointed. I was hoping for more. I'm not picky but some flavor on the burger or maybe be a freshly made burger would have been better. I wish I would have taken a picture. Super disappointed, the line was long so clearly they have a lot of fans, but the food was not very hot or fresh. They missed an order of fries, half the sauces, and the straws for our drinks. Ordered two kids meals, as well as food for two adults. Not only one, but both kids meals came without the fries (and no there was no applesauce either). So instead of taking a break from the everyday grind and enjoying a $50 dinner with the family, we spent $50 to listen to our 3 and 4 year old cry the whole time about how they didn't get any fries, which is literally half their meal...Accidents happen but it still was not what we paid for and was not a good experience. read more

The previous reviewer asked for help from her fellow Yelpers in deciding if this is a Christian driven organization with like motives.. Her conflict comes from things like mission statements and so forth. To assist her resolution of moral quandry, I am posting Burgerville's sustainability statement from their web site. It says nothing about being Christian, wicken, LGT, political or what ever. None of the partners on their web site show any religious or poltical affiliation. Mission statements are standard quality management tools in modern business. Sounds pretty radical to the naive, perhaps. Not the least bit creepy. Burgerville just wants to provide good food (which they do), be good to their employees and neighbors (which they are) and support fellow small businesses( again; which they do). Me? I wish we had more Burgerville's everwhere including the previous reviewer's neighborhood. They are a responsible, good business. And most importantly - they make damn great fast food. Three stars because I've been a loyal Burgerville guest for more than fifty years but now disappointed in the changes in the past couple years. The good is that it's fast food or food made fast with locally sourced meat, dairy, and produce. The not-so-good is it's no longer the founder, George Prouty's restaurant. It appears they no longer strive to give high school kids their first job or seniors a job. The restaurants are not as clean and well kept. I miss the happy staffs that went out of their way to give exceptional service and make your day. I stopped by Burgerville after checking out YELP! Quite honestly, I don't know what the hype is all about. I was deliberating between a one and a two star rating of this place and decided to round DOWN my experience instead of rounding up and I will tell you why: I base my decision of giving a place one star based on whether or not I will be back. In this instance, unless someone else LITERALLY twisted my arm, I don't think I will be back, let alone be back on my own. Since I am not from around here, as always, I go to YELP! for recommendations. Since this place has a glowing review, I decided to try it. First impression, BUSY place. The jukebox in the dining area, as one YELPER mentioned, is a unique touch. I didn't know whether or not it worked though. I rarely eat burgers so I ordered their grilled chicken. For $5.39, I figured it is comparable in price to say a McD or a Burger King. I thought I'd order the combo and while I'm it, I tried their Rosemary Fries and their Garlic Aioli -- first time I've EVER had an Aioli of ANY kind, so sue me! :) I literally had a heart attack when the cashier told me that my order came to $10.47 -- Wait, WHAT? I beg your pardon? Ten effing dollars and forty seven effing cents????? Really??? THIRTY ONE CENTS more and my original grilled chicken sandwich's price would've been doubled. And for what? A drink and some specialized fries? When I looked at my receipt, my $5.39 sandwich was actually billed at $9.69 as a combo including $.30 extra for the rosemary fries and $.40 extra for the garlic aioli. WOW! I didn't want to make a scene and paid my bill albeit begrudgingly. About 10 minutes later -- and I thought this was FAST FOOD!! -- my order came. My grilled chicken was drier than the Mojave Desert. And yes, I miss my tomato on my chicken sandwich. I tried dipping it in the garlic aioli but the "garlic" overpowered the chicken's flavor -- better than dry grilled chicken though. When I tasted the Rosemary Fries -- WOW! the rosemary flavor was IIIIIIINTENSE!!! When I got up to get my drink, I keep looking at my drink and trying not to remember that if I would've just gone across the street, I would've gotten this drink for ONLY a buck! Overall, I think Burgeville is trying to be a Red Robin or some "upper scale" burger joint but, aside from the EXPENSIVE sandwiches (nay, sandwiches COMBO!), they ridiculously fall short. I believe that when you leave a restaurant, you should be one step closer to nirvana (ok maybe I'm exaggerating here) because you are FULL and, MORE IMPORTANTLY because you have eaten GREAT food. I've been a fan of Burgerville since I lived in Portland, Oregon. I used to live within walking distance of one in the Hawthorne district. Even though I moved away a long time ago, I still go to this location a few times a year. On my most recent visit, something changed a bit. It wasn't the customer service because that was fantastic! Everyone at the counter was helpful and the people bringing us our food were super nice. The space was clean, as usual and made for a great rest stop on our trip. The shakes didn't change because those were awesome, as usual! The chocolate cherry was crazy good - the cherry offered a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate flavor. I love their shakes! The walla walla onion rings were huge, crispy rings, of fried goodness that I chose to dip in ketchup and tartar sauce. I'll be paying for that day for awhile. Ah, yes, the burgers. Something has changed with the burgers. The patties seemed smaller, have less flavor, and the texture was not appealing. Don't get me wrong, it's still okay, just not what I've had in the past. For me, Burgerville holds a special place in my heart and I'll continue to go there and hope the burgers will taste better to me the next time around. read more

The mint Oreo milkshake, though, was superb, and thankfully not at all green and artificial-looking. Whoever thought to combine Oreo and mint in a milkshake is a mad genius. The garlic aioli (too mayonnaise-y not enough garlic) with the fries wasn't really impressive, though. Don't bother with those. I had a very pleasant experience here. I rarely eat fast food, but I'm on a road trip with a diabetic. This place was impressive. We ordered in, and within 5 minutes, despite the amount of traffic at this place, or food arrived. When we paid, or receipt had our caloric intake on it; I track my calories,& my diabetic friend tracks carbs, fats, etc. it was refreshing to know what we were eating, where it came from, & that employees are treated as humanely as the animals that supply this place. They had 2 veggie burger options, local onion rings (Walla Walla sweets) and turkey, fish & chicken. The rosemary chicken sandwich was on an old, chewy hoagie roll & lacked distinctive rosemary flavour altogether. The fish sandwich was small and greasy. Give onion rings constituted enough fat for half a person's daily values. But I could tell all this info because they bothered to empower their customers with this info. If you're going to easy fast food, do it with these guys. They support local farmers and therefore local economies, they treat employees well, they compost, etc. The irony of having a drive-through is not lost on me, but our world isn't perfect. Since last December, the food quality has gone way downhill, and the prices have gone way up! The hamburger patties in December were twice as thick, juicy, and very good. Just went back today, in january, and the burger patties are flatter than pancakes and dry as a bone. The burger buns tasted like they just came out of a stale freezer. No more handmade French fries, now they have fries that come out of a plastic freezer bag. Spend $38 for three of us to eat food that I might as well have gone and bought at costco or McDonald's. You'd think someone else out there would already have it seeing as this place is usually jam packed every time I drive by (and sometimes thru) it. How can one resist? The glowing neon signs, the proximity to the freeway (for you travelers needing a real ice cream shake and not wanting to venture too far from the Interstate) The food is great. Fresh cooked burgers, some with real Tillamook cheddar cheese and hot fries are staples of this Northwest chain. For those craving something a little healthier or out of the ordinary, you can get a turkey burger or even some deep fried halibut and chips. Good stuff. Did I mention the real ice cream shakes? Oh. You can even get a salad served with smoked salmon and hazelnuts. What other "fast food" place offers that? Once a year, we are treated to the bliss that is the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Ring. These things are MASSIVE as documented in the pictures I've provided. They are offered in 2 sizes: Semi-Huge and Huge. I got Semi-Huge (3 rings). I think Huge was 4. These are best shared with friends or you can make a meal of them alone... the onion rings, not your friends. They also taste quite well paired with a milkshake. Not nearly the best Burgerville experience you can have. I have eaten at the one in or near Woodland (north of Vancouver) and that was a lot better than this one. I used to like the cheeseburgers because they'd pile on the goop. Took a trip down my partner's memory lane. She stopped her as a kid as the mid point to visit grandparents. I did have a little sticker shock... For three combos, it was just over $30. I did choke a bit as I handed over my credit card to Brittani (true spelling) at the counter. She immediately picked up on my lack of oxygen and mention that all ingredients are fresh, the strawberries were brought in that morning, etc. It was an average burger... Above the heart attack chains but not approaching the gourmet places that keep springing up. It was a clean, inviting facility but the food can be passed on... I did find the bathrooms amusing- there was one stall in the men's room and the door closed and said occupied while the women's room had 3 or 4 stalls oddly placed as if on a three inch wide train end over end over end. This place is a treasure! They use local ingredients, the prize in the kids' meals have been seeds for vegetable varieties that grow well in the PNW which is so cool to me. We had one bad experience there a couple of weeks ago; a lot of our stuff was missing (my b I should have checked before I left) and the burgers were pretty underdone. They were incredibly busy that night though, and I know staffing issues are real right now, so I wasn't mad. They refunded it with little issue, so it was all good. We went back tonight and everything was perfect! I even requested a bean patty on the seasonal Vampire Slayer burger and added bacon, and they nailed it- I mention this mostly because it was DELICIOUS! So good, 10/10. So yes, eat here. On our way back home we stopped at Burgerville and had the pleasure of being served by Kari, who is by far one of the most friendly, professional and pleasant people we have met. This was our first time coming and because of the delicious food and the incredible service we will be back! The atmosphere gives you that classic feel leaving you with a hint of nostalgia and brings you back to the days where you know everyone and everyone feels like family. While living in Centralia I was able to try this place out a few times. This location is the farthest north with most locations being in the Oregon area. As far as their burgers are concerned I didn't really notice much of a difference between this and any other burger from a typical fast food place. Their fries were pretty tasty and they also offered milkshakes on their menu which were very yummy. It's a nice change from the usual McDonalds or burger king but nothing really spectacular. read more

Have gone to Burgerville for years and never thought much of them, more a convenience thing because of location and hours than any affinity for their food. Burgerville has never made sense to me. For half the price you can go to McDonalds or Wendy's which may not be quite as good but are close. For the same price you can go Five Guys which blows it away. And for a few bucks more you can go to gourmet burger places with sit down service. Today really took the cake, though, bad enough that I finally broke down and wrote a review. I ordered the Walla Walla Onion Cheeseburger for $6 and it was probably the worst burger I've ever had. The patty tasted like salt and nothing else, the mustard onion sauce they use is disgusting and slathered so heavily I could not begin to wipe it off and the steamed onions were ok, but combined with the rest on white-bread quality buns it wasn't much of a meal. Burgerville Centralia is a dirty Restaraunt. I didn't see the kitchen but everything I could see, the front entrance, hallway, bathrooms, dining floor, was dirty. There are cobwebs on the windows and signage with light bulbs burned out. Workers we're friendly and prompt but manager was drinking a soda at the front counter. With that acknowledged, they claim to use quality fresh made ingredients however, I would rather have a juicy 5 Guys rather than this overcooked hockey puck I consumed. I do question the value here. This is perhaps my favorite Burgerville location. I am a Seattle resident, with in-laws in the Portland Metro area, so this is the northern most Burgerville location. In my family, we all know what stopping at Exit 82 means....it's Burgerville time. I have been known to plan my trips back to Seattle around when Burgerville will be open for breakfast. I have eaten here numerous times, and have NEVER been disappointed. They always welcome me in like a long-lost cousin or friend and they take great care of my hunger. Breakfast rocks, Lunch rocks, Dinner rocks. Burgerville has become our new favorite pit stop when making the drive from Seattle to Portland. We came here last week while doing a late night commute and ordered bacon burgers and fries. Maybe it was because I was super hungry or maybe it was because last time I ordered my burger without bacon, but this time everything tasted even better than the last. So we went to go look at a house and I totally made fun of this place because of the name . Then I was super intrigued and one of the store owners recommended this place to eat. I really was looking forward to a good burger and fries and my fav a shake ! So we pulled up had that cute old time vibe we did drive through since we had to get back to Tacoma. The gentlemen was so kind and we were in and out in a flash ! The burger was delish and so fresh not greasy, nasty or anything. It was perfect and full of flavor! The fries were in a basket that the gentlemen handed carefully to us . Crispy and not salty at all . The milkshakes were amazing! I would suggest the the Real strawberry one that was super yummy ! Burgerville is the BEST fast food place ever! (It was a close battle between Burgerville and In-N-Out) It is the superb menu they put together that makes it top my list though. I stopped by a few days ago and was super delighted to see that they have added a "local" favorite (at least of mine) of a salad with smoked salmon and hazelnuts to the menu. OMG it was so good!!! I also got the turkey burger, which was a new thing for me, as I usually am tried and true with the regular cheeseburger they offer with spread. The spread is so so so good. YUM! I decided to live on the edge though and get the turkey and it was wonderful! Juicy! Tasty! I would totally get it again. It's really so sad that I have to travel all the way from the east coast to visit Burgerville. Maybe some day my dream will come true and they'll become a national brand...one can dream OH! And I forgot the shakes they have....OMG the BEST.
