I don't write many reviews for chain restaurants. This is the same good hamburger joint as the rest of the burgerville restaurants. The service here, however, stinks. Food is good but service was terrible. Drive thru took over 30 minutes while I saw multiple people walk in and out with dine-in togo orders in less than 15 minutes. Employee at window was rude and saw multiple employees standing doing nothing. Burgers I received were also COLD. Better off with McDonalds. Just left the drive through after waiting 30 minutes in line, 20 of which were completely stagnant. How long is management going to hold onto the narrative that lobby closures are because of Covid concerns when almost every other restaurant in the state is open for dine-in? The drive through capacity is far too low to accommodate for the amount of people wanting to order food. With staffing being low, it makes sense financially for the franchise to keep the lobby closed, but it seriously is affecting customer satisfaction and wait times. I think I'll spend my money elsewhere until the lobby opens up again. read more

Our family loves Burgerville and until today have never had any complaints. We are traveling and stopped in The Dalles. We sat in the drive through for 20 minutes before we gave our order. We then paid and sat at the window for another 20 minutes. Then we were told they had run out of hamburger meat and only had 2 out of 3 of our burgers. Why wait 20 minutes to tell us? No compensation, no apology. Terrible customer service. Won't bother with this location ever again. This location does NOT represent the quality and friendliness we have experienced over the past 20 years in other locations. Not sure what is happening at this location. read more

Pulled into our local BUrgerville at exactly 11am and was refused breakfast. The employee explained they had already cleaned the grill, which means they shut down breakfast before their specified time. Very displeased by the response I got from the staff on shift and disappointed in their customer service. Normally, I consider Bergerville an excellent place to have lunch or breakfast. My husband and I stopped in on Wednesday. We shared the new smoky bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms. When it arrived it looked anemic. The picture advertising The burger looked amazing. What we received was a mini version or a squished version. I asked the person behind the counter if these are supposed to be the same burgers. She replied, Yes. I said it didn't look the same. She replied, how does it taste? I said small. Burger was overdone, and everything seem to be paperthin. We have stopped at Bergerville for decades and love the place. I understand the higher prices because they are using local ingredients. When they use minimal ingredients it really takes away from the great food they have always had. I would always Ray Bergerville with a five star and today's was a 2 to 3 star. Added shots of chocolate, in an attempt to create the lost Mocha Perk, come as an added fee to an already pricey drink. Chocolate and coffee, like in the Mocha Perk, go together like peanut butter and jelly. A cold Brew whatever shake just doesn't make sense. Is it supposed to be a latte or vanilla ice cream with coffee? Was it cold brewed coffee before it was mixed with ice cream or did it become cold after? Sounds like bad marketing to me. read more

EAT HERE. This place was delicious. We stopped by while driving through on a Tuesday around noon. If you want seafood, this probably isn't the place because the coast is a few hours west where you can get it fresh. But if you want a good burger and fries while driving through, this is the place to come! To tell you the truth, when I received the food, I didn't expect much, but when I started eating I was very impressed! I got the bacon cheeseburger and I can't stop talking about it! The meat was fresh, the veggies fresh and crisp, toasted bun, and just the right amount of condiments--you don't have to worry about sauce/grease dripping everywhere. Also, they us Tillamook cheese and it was so good! The fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just like fries should be. My wife and I both agreed this is a place where you leave feeling full, but satisfied. You won't regret it later. The staff was very friendly and greeted us as we walked in. The worker told us to ask if we had any questions about the menu. The food was prepared quickly and a worker came by our table while we were eating to ask if we needed anything. The restaurant is about as clean as any other fast food restaurant. Tables were clean, plenty of space to eat. Truthfully, I thought this place was delicious. It sounds like they weren't doing too well some months ago, but don't get turned away by other reviews because this place is fantastic! read more

First, I LOVE Burgerville, and have been enjoying their surprisingly good "fast-food" since I was a child. They have locally-sourced meat and amazing seasonal treats, including scrumptious strawberry shortcakes. However, this location was a travesty. It has an overall grungy feel, both in overall cleanliness and character. And the food was just "ok," more on par with a good McDonalds (if that's even possible), not their usual consistently flavorful fare. To top it off, while we were trying to enjoy our meal, some local teens were circulating asking for donations for some school project, without any formal pamphlets or school provided documents to explain and verify the request. Don't get me wrong, I like it when businesses support charitable activities, and don't mind having a bin/box for patrons to leave money, etc, but asking someone directly while they are eating a meal feels too much like panhandling, and was frankly really uncomfortable. Please, please don't judge Burgerville as a chain based on this location - it is not representative in any way of the usual quality and taste they have come to stand for. And Burgerville: someone from corporate needs to pay a visit and figure out what's going on here. read more

As a Coloradan, I have not before experienced the excitement before of the apparently well known Burgerville chain, but I'm glad I got to try it while I was in the Pacific Northwest. Lots of the items on the menu were local, which was awesome, and they have not one but TWO different vegetarian burgers on the menu; this is super impressive! I also enjoyed their rosemary fries (they have sweet potato fries in the fall -- I like the idea of a quick service/fast food chain having local AND seasonal items on their menu), and for dessert, the triple berry milkshake, which features marionberries. Quick, cheap, and a much better fast food options than any of the more usual chains (McDonald's, Wendy's, etc). Hoping they open some in Colorado! read more

Turkey burgers, need I say more? If you're like me and you don't eat beef, finding a place that offers a delicious alternative is a wonderful experience. The turkey burger takes a little bit longer to receive than a beef burger (mainly because they cook them to order, I'm sure), so if you're in a hurry, just be aware that you'll need to wait a few minutes. Burgerville's fries are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and are delicious. They also have seasonal offerings such as Yukon Gold waffle fries, and Sweet Potato fries too. I'm a big fan of the regular fries dipped in their burger spread. The burger spread costs around 50cents, and well worth it. Basically it seems to be a mixture of mayo, mustard, and relish of some kind. Delish! Burgerville also offers tasty milk shakes and desserts. I'm a big fan of the seasonal strawberry offerings. They don't have Burgerville where I'm from so, again, I am reviewing a chain that is new and novel to me! Pretty darn good for a fast food joint, with surprisingly friendly service. I love that there is a box of fresh cherries sitting there when we walk in that they are using for their shakes and smoothies. They also have a pretty good commitment to the environment, unlike most of their competition. The kids actually got a packet of sugar snap pea seeds as a prize in their kids' meals once! The fish and chips are pretty spendy for what you get, but burgers are great. Tried the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Burger this time but didn't care for the whole wheat bun. Gimme good old over-processed-enriched-white-bread-bad-for-you-bun any day. Also it had straight mayo instead of their secret sauce which is much tastier. Maybe someday we'll try something else for lunch in The Dalles on our way to Portland, but we've been stuck on BV the last few times! read more

Being a small town of 12,000 people, there isn't much in the way of food choices. Lunch was spent eating at this well known chain restaurant that prides itself on serving up locally (northwest) grown food. In season is the walla walla onion rings and upcoming sweet potato fries. They do have a half pound burger if like to live dangerously. They even have a wi-fi internet connection. I ordered the double cheese burger with 3 onion rings. I would not order only 1 onion ring since it ends up costing only a little more for 2 extra. Service was fast and easy without the usual drama. I thought the burger was good but lacked any kind of vegetation. The bun was slightly better than most burger joints but would not win any awards. I did like the unique sauce of a mayo/mustard/catsup mix. I would order the more expensive burger that comes with veggies next time. The onion rings were not too greasy and came with a ranch sauce. I wouldn't order them again. I have tried the sweet potato fries and they were much better. read more

Place was colorful and semi clean, 6 tables needed to be wiped down at 2:40pm on a Wednesday. The fries were hot but Anthony was to busy to get an order right. This review comes 2439 miles away from the nearest BV. I had 30 years with Burgerville as an option for grub but now I find it a distant memory only possible on visits and vacations back in the Pacific NW. Let me pay tribute to the 1/2 pound Colossal and Double Beef Cheeseburger with that famous Burgerville Spread that can't be duplicated no matter how good of a copycat recipe you think you have. Tillamook Cheese or Peppered Bacon on a burger? These are unheard of on a drive thru burger North, South, or East of The Dalles. Can you imagine the millions of people that haven't lived this experience? I miss the Wild Alaskan Halibut Fish and Chips and the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Rings. The rest of the world is unaware that a Vidalia can't even be considered "sweet" or an "onion" when compared to a Walla Walla Sweet. Really, we should feel sorry for them, but as the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. These other Burger joints don't offer Real Ice Cream Milkshakes made with locally grown straw clogging chunks of fresh fruits such as Strawberry, Boysenberry, Blackberry, and Huckleberry. Hazelnuts? BV has 'em! Five Guys can offer you a greasy bag and Whataburger is good but over 80% of them are in Texas. I've been to Texas, they aren't that good. White Castle and Crystal's can hardly be considered hamburgers and you have to know a "secret menu" to get something special from In-n-Out. I may have insulted a few with those last comments but any true Pacific Northwesterner will probably agree that Burgerville is more than fast food or a burger joint...it's an Institution! read more

This was a great discovery on I-84 that saved us from the horrors of having to dine at McWendyKing. We've been to a few of the other locations of Burgerville and have never been let down. I tried the turkey club. It was quite good. It had all the usual club stuff but came with Burgerville sauce on a bun that made it great. We also had a cheesburger and a chicken strips. I might add that it was easier than I thought it would be to get to the restaurant from the interstate. Just take an exit on one side of town, then after eating get back on at the other side. read more

Good greasy grub, if that's what you're looking for! Definitely a step up from McDonalds. The chicken strips were great, the fries mediocre. The dipping sauces they offer were actually excellent--not over processed garbage like most fast food joints. Try the tartar. My biggest complaint is with the location. There were some pretty sketchy folks dropping lots of f bombs in the parking lot adjacent to Burgerville. I was glad I didn't have kids with me, I didn't feel safe. read more

We live on the Oregon coast and this is our second visit to this Burgerville location we came in here tonight at 8:15 45 minutes before they were fixing to close we ordered two meals and one shake I wasn't sure if I was imagining it but the guy at the register continuously rolled his eyes the entire time that we were ordering our food I asked my husband about it and he said no he noticed it as well. We got the food to go came back to our hotel room and the food is just OK the fries were cooked too much so they weren't very fresh tasting at all the chicken sandwich was thin as paper and dry as jerky and my husbands hamburger was nearly nonexistent on the bun. All three burgers were slathered with some odd mustard+mayo slop. Had to get replacements. Seems like their ecological sourcing of ingredients included barely warm cardboard-like beef that might have been cooked hours ago. We threw them into the garbage and headed for the restrooms to wash up. The bathrooms were dirty and messy. We left in disgust and drove to a gas station to wash. I ate here once years ago and did't find it memorable enough to review. Traveling through The Dalles en route to Washington on 6/11/17, I decided to give it another try. I was surprised how few cars were parked outside for a Saturday afternoon. Once I went inside, I understood why. The young lady behind the cash register told me they were out of Asparagus, which was a seasonal item and therefore understandable. But then she proceeded to tell me that they were out of french fries, but could substitute with hash-browns. What kind of a burger joint lets that happen? Clearly, the owner of this franchise has no idea what they're doing because it would've been so simple to send one of their employees to the grocery store to buy french fries. Needless to say, I left. I will give Burgerville U.S.A. a try again someday, but never this particular location. read more

On our way home to WA from the coast we skipped DQ and McDonald's and opted here with the lure of "fresh local beef." Extremely dry, overcooked burgers!! If it was fresh you couldn't tell. So overcooked they were crumbling like drunk Uncle Hanks burgers on 4th of July who slurs "they are just charrrrreed!" Thank goodness we asked for ketchup for the fries, both pepper bacon burgers had a tiny dallop of mayo on the bun that was it. No ketchup. Asked for plenty of fry sauce and napkins for our party of 4. Received 3 napkins and one fry sauce. Asked for more fry sauce and got only 1 more... Needless to say they are stingy on sauces and condiments of any kind here. Bacon was subpar and also charred to a black meaty grit. It was a total of $30 for 2 adult and 2 kids meals... Burgerville is the best fast food restaurant I've ever been to. They try to be environmentally conscious. They serve locally sourced food, use renewable power, compost, were the first to serve vegetarian options, etc. The price is high compared to most fast food places, but BV serves real food so the price is worth it. read more

We always stop by burgerville when we are in Oregon. They use ingredients from local farmers. Natural beef, tillanook cheese, walla walla onions. Milkshakes are great and they have a special flavor pending on the season. Right now it is blackberry season. I am disappointed that they changed their chicken strips recipe. It use to be a thin panko crust. Now it is a thick buttermilk crust. read more
