Whatever you do, don't schedule at their service department. I've been sitting here for 6 hours and was just told it's not going to be ready for another 1.5 hours at least. I now have to leave without getting the service I was scheduled for because I have other obligations, and they refused to give me a vehicle for the evening. Phenomenally bad customer service. Absolutely no heads up about how long this recall would take. An entire day wasted. We had originally used Costco to buy the vehicle, and it took a year for a Highlander with the camel colored leather seats to come in, and then they still took up a day of our time going back and forth, which is exactly what the Costco route is supposed to avoid. The service department really messed me up last year with two appointments being unfulfilled because they stacked the cars on a short staff. So I had to go home, twice. I tried them once again this week and they bent over backwards to make it right. Now, why did I only give it a 3 stars? Because the General Manager of the dealership refused to call me back when I have him my number, told him my husband and I purchased 5 cars from them in the past. He never called back. I went in and stood in the showroom floor for 10 minutes while several people told me they'd go get him. After 10 minutes I finally tracked someone and he had already left. When my husband and I went there a few months ago, we were greeted by Jimmy, one of the managers, who quickly connected us with Matheus, our sales associate. They were both incredibly friendly, respectful, and never made us feel pressured. They let us take the Toyota Land Cruiser out for a test drive, answered all of our questions, and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free instead of the usual dealership circus . My husband ended up buying a Toyota Tundra, and they made the entire process easy and enjoyable from start to finish. I would definitely recommend Matheus. Research everything the service department tells you BEFORE you agree to the work. They will try to upsell you without explaining whether the work is truly required. I called about a routine service that the manufacturer's maintenance book said was only four things - oil, cabin, and engine filter change, and tire rotation. Plus a bunch of things to check. The service department said it the service included 7 extra things and didn't explain why other than that's "what they saw in their system". $1300 was the quote. After doing some research, I called back and they said the extra things were "dealer recommendations ". Never did they clarify that during my first two calls. They inflated a $200 job to over $1300. I came in for an engine oil change and diagnostic for worsening fuel consumption for NX300H, instead of filling my needs, the service decide to recommend differential oil change and CVT transmission fluid change totaling $700. Found out that any Toyota CVT transmission is a SEALED UNIT AND DOES NOT NEED SERVICE OR FLUID REPLACEMENT AT ALL as per Lexus and Toyota . The service misled and tried to charge $300 for something that is not necessary. Would you go back to a dealer who does not listen to your needs and tried to rip you off $300 ? read more

Fine I was overdue. As I was driving home, my check engine light and traction control went out. Mind you, this was during the flooding happening in Seattle, so the roads are horrible and water logged. Went back the next day, and was checked in my a very rude and confection service manager. Another 3 hours of my work hours wasted, later they finally get me a shuttle to work. Once they were done fixing it I asked for a refund for the labor hours from the previous day and they said hell no. They gave a free oil change for the next time I come in. Arrived shortly before 10am for a service appointment. Was greeted by an employee who started my paperwork and grabbed my mileage and VIN. The employee then walked me over to a service advisor (George). The employee handed my paperwork to George who asked that I wait in the waiting area and he'd call me shortly. I waited there for 45 mins without being called. Customer after customer came in and were assisted. Not me. After 45 mins I asked George for my keys so that I can leave since I had waited so long without being helped. He responded that the keys are on the dash. No apology, no concern, no effort to help. I asked George if I can speak to his manager. George responded with "He's running around somewhere" and left it at that. I told George that I'd leave a review on Yelp and with Toyota Corporate. He responded with "ok." I walked to my car and grabbed my keys. Ran into the employee that checked me in. Told him what occurred and he called the manager who came within a few minutes and listened to my concerns which was a positive. After that I left. Folks you pay a premium to service your vehicle at a dealership. Take your hard earned money to a place that values your business which is not Burien Toyota. read more

If I could take back my purchase from Burien Toyota I would. After finding a huge cosmetic defect in my used 2020 car that I purchased, I spoke with Richard the used sales manager about my concern. Not only did he interrupt me multiple times during the conversation, he was condescending, told me he wasn't responsible for disclosing this issue and to "duck tape" the problem. We brought my sister's car in for "maintenance" that cost little over $500. They replaced filters and did a recall. not even 40 miles into driving and the car starts smoking and some sort of leakage happened and there was a fire that started underneath the car (we have videos of this). We called the fire department and were informed not to drive the car and to have Toyota tow it back to follow up on the work that was done. Before the maintenance check up there was no problem, no smoke, no leak, no fire. After a few days later we received a call that they couldn't find a problem and now want to quote us the damage and to call our insurance. read more

Don't take your care here for repairs. They are scammers. I came in needing an alignment. They assured me several times that I definitely did NOT need an alignment and I actually needed a $215 "diagnostic" to see why my car was pulling hard to the right. Over an hour later they told me it was, after all, my alignment, plus my tires were "bald." That wasn't true. My tires were worn, not bald, and the paperwork they sent me home with later confirmed this. They also wanted me to pay the $215 for the unnecessary testing! But I refused. They also tried to get me to buy new windshield wipers (which were actually brand new and worked fine). Three hours later, after I refused their "great deal" on tires (actually $500 more than Costco's), they refused to service my car at all and I left without even the alignment done. After I got home, I found a reputable place that will do the alignment for less. Save your money and DON'T GO HERE! read more

Brought a customer's vehicle in for a ADAS diagnostic/recalibration after completing repair work for a rear end collision, we replaced one of the blind spot monitors as a part of repairs. Spoke with Cody Livingston, who I advised I just had an issue with Toyota of Renton's service department over overcharging on an ADAS diagnostic/recalibration and was hoping to have a better experience with him. I explained I had hoped to take care of the issue with 2 hours diagnostic and 2 hours for the recalibration, which is what I ended up paying at Toyota of Renton for the exact same job on another vehicle with the same ADAS functions. All was well until Cody called back asking for me to approve 6 hours of labor to complete the calibration. The customer's insurance would not approve the supplement with an invoice this high, Cody refused to work with us. I guess he found it more profitable to get paid for only bringing in 2 hours to the shop rather than the 4 I had requested, or the 5.5 that I will end up paying in total to two different Toyota service departments. He stated in correspondence "I will not be cutting the labor down. I sure it would be beneficial for all parties, except us. Good luck trying to convince my technician to do an 8-hour job for 4 hours". I appreciate his well wishes in retrospect as I was able to find someone that would do his 6 hour job in 3.5... I hope that he did find it beneficial to himself and the dealership that they were only able to rip me off for 2 hours instead of 4 or 5.5, but I'm not sure how that math is supposed to work for honest people who work with a conscience. After speaking with Toyota of Seattle's service department, they advised me that Cody L. was trying to pull a fast one on us as this sort of recalibration work should take 3.5 hours, not 6. The car was promptly picked up and is now being taken care of by Toyota of Seattle service. Shame on Cody Livingston and the Burien Toyota service department, was hoping for a better experience than the one I had at Toyota of Renton, but this was a worse experience than that one. read more

Customer service here is the pinnacle of mediocrity, served to you on a silver platter by vapid and inane subaltern employees. I've taken my car here on multiple occasions and had the displeasure of working with Cody Livingston for many of those appointments. In June 2022, my radio receiver had persistent issues causing the infotainment screen to turn off rendering the audio, GPS and many functions useless. At 42k miles this was not normal. The cost of diagnosis, repair and replacement was $2,083.31 which Cody told me repeatedly was not covered under my Toyota Platinum Warranty which I had paid an additional couple thousand dollars for when I first purchased the new vehicle. Fast forward to November 2022, after speaking with several other advisors at different Toyota Dealerships, Toyota Corporate Finance and circling back to Cody, Cody admitted that it was indeed covered under warranty. Instead of assisting and advocating for me to Toyota Financial to get reimbursed, Cody sent me on a goose chase with several irrelevant Toyota helplines and passed me off to the service coordinator to request the documents needed to be faxed, yes faxed, to Toyota Financial in order to initiate this process. Cody's nescient advice handling this matter cost me months and dozens of hours of coordinating mishegoss with customer service agents only to find out that Cody never got authorization from Toyota to perform the covered repair which resulted in a 72% reimbursement from Toyota Financial. It was only when I escalated this case up to the general, service and finance manager, that I was able to receive the full reimbursement. This desultory ordeal is a high reason to leave society. I will not be frequenting this service center for my future needs. read more

I'm puzzled by negative reviews on Yelp; we had a good experience here. We couldn't find the Prius we wanted locally, so made the 2-1/2 trek to Burien from Battle Ground. Hyung Kim was our sales guy and Andy Lee was our finance guy. As with any pro dealer, allow plenty of time to test drive, learn how the car operates, have add-on options explained, sign lots of paperwork, etc. We were never rushed, and most importantly we were treated kindly and with respect through the whole process. This is the friendliest and most hassle-free dealership experience I ever had. We were shopping for a new car and went to Burien Honda first. The sales guy there is a super aggressive drama salesman, with all kinds of strategies to get us in for an Accord that nobody knows when it would arrive. We felt pressured and manipulated, and went to Burien Toyota, and that's when we met Dylan, a new salesman who just started weeks ago. Dylan was honest, easygoing, and welcoming. He listened and understood that we need a new car that can be taken today on the spot. Because there was no new car in inventory, he showed us a few used cars that we were like, meh, but then he showed us a Toyota Rav4, and it only has 3000 miles. Its trim looks great, we liked it a lot. Most importantly, the final price is on the sticker and there was no exhausting negotiation needed. We were sold, another technician Pape came along and explained all sorts of details of the deal, including "GAP", a protection plan that we didn't know we need. Pape's explanation is very clear and easy to understand, no bullshit whatsoever. We finished the deal with Tony, and everything just went super smoothly. I know dealers and dealer service departments often get a bad rap, but these folks did right by me, especially Rich at Burien Toyota's parts department. I needed new wiper blades and there are SO many after-market products, I wasn't willing to engage in trial-and-error, so I decided to go the OEM route. A couple of pleasant surprises. Rich hooked me up with new rubber inserts (the business end) instead of entirely new wiper arms. This meant two things: it was cheaper than buying two replacement arms, and there was a WHOLE lot less waste. The third thing was that he installed them for me. In and out, 10 minutes tops, and several extra bucks left in my pocket. You guys rock! read more

As such, many dealerships tried to take advantage of me throughout my search process. Burien Toyota was the exact opposite! Anthony Juarez was fantastic from start to finish. This was the easiest car transaction I have ever executed due to Anthony's quick response times, knowledge of the business, and overall friendly demeanor. Anthony provided quick and accurate quotes towards models that I was looking for and sent weekly updates on the status of the car. Anthony also was happy to hop on any call and the personal touch was something that is missed at many other dealerships. Spoke with Christian, who refused to allow me to put a deposit down because I was thinking of calling other Toyota dealerships to get on their waitlists.
