Visited this location during the holidays on a strict mission to find a coat for the upcoming winter. After walking in and browsing for not even 5 minutes, My eyes landed upon the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. It was a black wool or wool blend Michael Kors midlength women's plus size coat with gold colored accents! I fell in love, tried it on in the dressing room and ran to the register to place it on layaway. I then worked overtime to get it out of layaway ($130) and show it off! read more

GROSSLY UNPROFESSIONAL: I was in this location today and purchased some items. I did not get home until late and realized that an exercise ball was not in my bags. I called the store and Spoke to a so called manager Karen, I explained to her that I've just realized the exercise ball I purchased earlier was not in my bag, she stopped short of calling me a liar, then pretended to search for the item. She then put a cashier on the phone to tell me she can not find the item and she can not talk to me.. What an unprofessional, crooked thing to do. I simply wanted her to check the camera of the cashier Patricia who rang my items up to find out what happened to it. I bought kettle weights, mat and ball.. I am beyond pissed. On April 16th, 2016, my debit card was used at this "Burlington 198 Gurnee IL" in the amount of $300.00. I contacted the manager who identified himself as John. John refused to assist in any way and instead demanded that I file a police report. One would practicably believe that a manager would want to get as much information about suspected fraud, so as to aid in the apprehension of the responsible party. I've been coming to this location for at least 10 years. It was awesome in the beginning. I always knew where to find what I was looking for, there were actual employees walking around helping people, but over the years BCF has morphed into a swap meet/unorganized hot mess. The coat section seems secondary to all of the home furnishings, artwork and nick knacks that crowd the store. If you're brave enough to dive in to the chaos, be prepared to HUNT for the size and style of coat that you need. It's like sifting for gold! I've had a few good finds but even now I feel exhausted reflecting on the journey. Suggestions to BCF: Clean up. Reorganize. Hire more employees to reorganize and clean up. read more

Please somebody clean up this store and tell them to stop overstocking the Children's coats.....pick up the clothes that are strewn everywhere. And just because Burlington is big, doesn't mean that it's a child's playground and they get to run around and pull clothes down and scream and act a DAMN fool.... I hate this store, it's full of H.A.M (Hot Ass Mess), when it comes to the quality of the clothing and the organization of the store. The only good thing that saves them is the housewares section (linen, bathroom stuff), in addition to baby needs, like strollers, high chairs and diaper bags. Everything else in here is GARBAGE. My daughter's birthday party is tomorrow and my grandparents wanted to buy her a gift. We went here looking for a new winter coat, but after about 5 minutes of trying to find her size, stepping over all of the coats that were on the floor and trying to look at the coats on the overstuffed racks, I was THROUGH....... I have pretty good luck when I go here. I always find something I like whether clothes or in the home decor section. The store can get messy but I expect that because of the size. However, I DO NOT expect for A FULL ON BRAWL TO TAKE PLACE WHILE I AM SHOPPING WITH MY CHILDREN!!!!! This week an employee and his girlfriend had a fist fight in the shoe department!!!!!!! They knocked over shelves, he body slammed her and was punching her. I couldn't believe my eyes!! Some of the staff and myself had to step in and break them up. Good quality coats and other clothing for (slightly) lower prices. Mostly well-presented, some clearance racks. Great selection of outerwear, as you might expect. Got a Kenneth Cole winter coat for my husband for $100. Not a steal, per se, but a good price without waiting for a sale. read more

Came here today to take a look around. I found my suit that I'll eventually be purchasing for job interviews! I was surprised to see that there's literally no men's section.... just young men's, big & tall, and boys. Other than that, I think that some things are pretty good bargains while others are just about the same price as other department stores. I'm flabbergasted. Once upon a time, when I was a young teen, BCF was the place to go to to supplement my wardrobe with decent clothes at a low price. Then something happened in my 20's. People found out about this place. All the clothes are picked over. Now here I am years later and my wife still likes to stop in to try and find a cheap purse. Every time we stop in, I start another hopeless quest trying to find something to buy. I'm right in between the regular men's department and big and tall, yet I can never find clothes in either department. Size 13 shoes? Forget about it. And this location is the worst. At least in the Milwaukee area BCF's, I can find something I like in a size too small for me. I can't even find something I like in here! read more

This is probably one of the places where we did not expect to see lot lot lot of great baby products. We went to Gurnee Mills Mall to check out another baby products place but wanted to give a quick look at the baby depot of burlington coat factory. The prices are great. Very cheap , in fact for lot of good stuff (example, cribs, baby clothes etc.). If you have or going to have a baby then i would strongly recommend this place. Please go and check it out. I think most probably you will get surprised by the price tags and the quality too.
