Admittedly it is a discount store so you can't have high expectations. I've never had an issue with poor customer service and the locations that I've been to nor have I actually heard from anybody I know personally that says they had poor customer service. However over the last few years Burlington is obviously in cutting corners or cutting costs. I went in today to see about getting a jacket. A jacket, and they had none. Yes everything is cheep here, but there clothes are so cheap in quality it's not even worth the gas money and time it took you to get here. The employes are mean and not willing to help ever. Terrible. I love the stuff that the store has, but I have never met a more rude staff. I came in to ask a simple question about a return. I was very kind to a man, he has okay. Then he had a woman come to over to help because he didn't know what to do. The woman's names was Naomi. Not sure if she was a manager, at first she said she was then when I asked, she said she wasn't. She laughed at me for my question and told me it has nothing to do with them... I've always got my clothes from the mall and noticed that ide only get a few things for a really high price but once I went to Burlington and got a tun of stuff for cheaper then k would at the mall and name brand stuff I've always went there to get my clothes and forever will very cheap and the Ventura Burlington has awesome costumer service and make me feel welcomed and always make sure im being taken care of. read more

Holy Cow! My husband and I went to this store on Sat April 14th in the early evening. It looked like a bomb went off in every department. I was floored at the discusting display. Food on the floor, kids running around unsupervised, most of the products were all over the floors in the isles, jewelry included not to mention when I asked the staff about why no body seemed to care she said that they were short staffed. This is a large store but Good Lord! It was WORSE THAN WALL MART on a Good Day! We bought two shirts and yes they were reasonable but I will never step a foot in there again. I even took photos! There was a child running around with a remote controlled car.......He ran me over with it.......NO Parent was even around. I would be better off at WallMart! read more

Customer service was terrible. I special ordered a whole matching set of baby furniture here- crib, dresser and changing table. I ordered it 4 months before my due date, thinking this was plenty of time. They had the crib in stock but had to special order the rest. They said they would call me when the rest arrived. Well, I never got around to setting up the crib right away and it just so happened that 7 months pregnant we decided to move. After moving and only a less than a month away from baby's arrival, I kept thinking, they haven't called me, I should call to see what the status is...I got the run around on the phone so i decided to just stop by and surely I would get a better idea on when exactly it was arriving. They forgot to order it. How can you take my money and not order it?? The manager had no knowledge of my order and said he could order it but would take a couple of months...I didn't have time I needed it yesterday! With their 30 day policy I couldn't just get my money back so I could go else where and search for a new set with just weeks away from my due date. I had to wait a little over a week for the manager to get approval from corporate to return my money. While I did end up getting my money back, I thought I'd write a review if you're going to order anything in their baby depot area, make sure you check up on it in case they didn't even place the order! I ended up going to target and got a set which was in stock and hubby set it up that same night. read more

Just left this store actually, and have no reason to return ever again. Starting from the beginning I was to attend a wedding 3 days ago. Didnt have time to try on clothes at the store so I grabbed what I thought were my size dress shirt and pants. As I bought them I asked the lady what the return policy was if they didn't fit, she said 30 days with a receipt you get money back, that's all I was told. I get home to get ready for the wedding strip the tags as I have no reason to return them until I realize they're too small and the shirt is too tight around my neck. So of course I dont wear it I go to the outlets and get a bigger size due to the wedding being near to there. So seeing as im a grown up and have a job I couldn't immediately return the items I bought from Burlington. Today when I get there I tried to return them I was immediately scolded by a lady named Annette that they had to be back in the condition they were bought. The shirt had like perspiration on it, so I understood that but the pants were just wrinkled due to them being in the bag and in my car for a couple days, OF COURSE THEY'RE GONNA BE WRINKLED, when I explained that she then tried to tell me the tags were missing, I said they're there in the bag which she responded I cant return them because the tags aren't on the pants.......????? I explained how would I know that if when I asked what rhe return policy was and wasn't told the correct information why could you return them? Long story shorter I felt like I was talking to some old kids. I think there's been only one time where I haven't encountered an employee with attitude or followed around the store even though ive spent about 800 dollars there. Poor employee knowledge which is the fault of management for not training well enough and no accountability for there mistakes. Worst experience here after buying a suitcase that broke first time I used it. Manager was rude, irrational, and unsympathetic to my cause. He simply didn't believe me and wouldn't take the product back. No other store I've been to in Ventura would have treated a customer like this. I ended up going directly to Samsonite and they replaced it with a better suitcase, no problem. If the manufacturer (Samsonite) took the product back so easily, why couldn't the manger at Burlington have facilitated this process? I won't shop at this store again and I look forward to the day when that space is replaced by a better retailer. read more

Horrible place to go, rude staff. I was going to try something on. Went to the fitting rooms and of course no one was manning the fitting rooms and waiting 5 minutes for someone to come, I went in and tried stuff on. I came out and some one was finally out there and the lady told me I had no respect very rudely. No respect for what. I will never go back there again. read more

Worst store EVER! Less than 10 years ago the upstairs was full of every style of coat imaginable. I even own some quality wool coats from there. I haven't been in there lately, apparently! Went yesterday to look for an over/rain coat for my husband. Went up the escalator to the second floor, no coats at all! Went back downstairs to the men's department and they literally had about 5 ugly jackets in XL. I asked the salesperson, "Where's all the coats?" She said, "Oh, our truck didn't come in this week." Seriously? What a joke. It's turning into another Ross-type store with a lot of cheap merchandise. Never going back! read more

I've had mixed experiences here. A few years ago, a cashier was incredibly rude to my son who had waited politely in line to ask if he could exchange a dollar for four quarters (they had those little machines in front of the store). All the cashier had to do was explain that he couldn't open the register without a sale or something similar. Instead, he raised his voice at a seven year old and chastised him for even asking. I asked to speak to a manager and found out he was the manager. So I explained I wouldn't give them my business. He said, "I'm sorry. I didn't understand what the boy was asking." So the solution was to raise your voice? Now, as some time had gone by, I thought I'd give them another try. Surely, things must be better. Maybe the guy was just having a bad day. Anyway... this time, the staff seemed pleasant enough. The store was a huge mess, items were dirty and/or damaged, and the store was a little chaotic, but if you're careful and have the time to look, you can find some good deals. All in all, though, I've had better experiences at TJMaxx and Marshall's. read more

I received a baby shower gift from here, I went to return it since I got multiples of the same gifts. They would not even consider returning the item without a receipt, not even for store credit. I have never heard of such a thing. They asked me if I could get the receipt from the person who bought me the gift or their debit card that they used. Are you serious? that's ridiculous. It was a gift. I left the store with the gift in hand. I decided to call the store and speak with the manager. I had told him what had happened and he asked where I was I told him I was in the parking lot of his store Just baffled that they wouldn't return a gift . He apologized and said that is their policy. I asked him if his staff mentions that to every person that buys a gift . He asked me to come back in and see if there's anything that we can do. Fortunately he made the decision and was able to return it for me. I was very grateful and thankful to him. Lesson here is if you purchase a gift for somebody ar this store, let them know that they absolutely need a receipt. read more
