They will only fix easy job. Perhaps oil change, etc... Engine lights? Never mind, they will tell you that it will cost too much without even checking. I believed they are very honest for those small job or easy job. Not much socialized, plus a little strange too. Seem like they are living in a different world. Better off to leave your car there if you decide to have it done. Or else you will feel missing your whole life when you leave. read more

I and everyone in my family that I introduced to them have been going to Burma Motors since the 90s - they are the best - it's just two brothers - Art and Jason and they do all the themselves - they are honest to a T - they will tell you upfront what they think the issue could be and if they can fix it or not - they don't do fancy scopes and computers but if you want regular maintenance - brakes, oil changes, shocks, structs, etc. they handle it all. They also handle more extensive repairs mostly on Japanese and Korean vehicles - not so much on the European big brands (Mercedes, BMW, etc) that require extensive electronic diagnostic, etc. Call and make an appt and expect to leave your car there for the better part of a day. Hard to find trust worthy and reasonably priced individuals in this business but these two are exactly that. They are the best value in the business. read more

Run by two brothers. My family members just drop the car off in the morning, tell them what we want done, and then wait for the call to come pick up the car. If there's an issue, they call you to tell you about it and then give you an estimate to fix it. My husband likes them because they don't do a lot of small talk, are very reasonably priced, and more importantly don't try to sell other service. Have been going to Jason and Art's for about 8 years now for auto needs. There won't be any fancy customer service or free coffee, and communication can be somewhat difficult at times. But that being said they are the only honest auto repair shop that I know of in Rockville and I've never been charged beyond what I need. read more

I had my oil change here recently and it was my first time being there since I recently just move to the area. I will say that the customer service isn't awesome, is not like "Welcome! What can I do for you today?" with a big smile or anything BUT they are honest. They want to know right away why you're there and then get to work on whatever it is that your car need. I much prefer that to a big auto shop where they pretend to be welcoming and lie to you about what your car might or might not need. I'll be going here from now on! My toyota corolla 2005 already clocked 160k dont want to spend too much money went to Burma motors he spend atleast 45 minutes did some attachment and fix the battery bolt also but charged me only $20 dollars. I started going to Burma Motors when the father of Jason and Art was the owner. After he retired, Jason and Art took over the business. I have been with them continuously for about 18 years. I always have a positive experience. They are always honest and will not charge me more that what is needed. They will not let you pay for unnecessary repairs. Their quotes are always significantly less than other repair shop. I trust them up to the point where I can just tell them the problems of the car and leave it for them to repair and then pay whatever they say. In an industry with hardly anyone you can trust, you honestly just want to keep the contact for yourself. But I truly feel morally obligated to spread burma motors good karma. Doesn't matter how fancy or big your sign and garage is, I've seen them all straight up lie to people. Where dealerships notoriously upcharge you ridiculous prices. Admittedly For convenience sake I went to the dealership to get some jobs done, only to find myself enraged at the incompetence and highway robbery. I came in to fix my headlight and Hyundai Fitzgerald gaithersburg once again shocks me with a $400 estimate to change the whole headlight. Once again, leaving enraged and searching my contacts, I remember to return to Burma motors with my tail between my legs embarrassed I forgot them. They told me the real problem and fixed it for $35. I even offered more just for his honesty. He spent a good 20 min digging under my hood to find the loose headlight clip. Keep in mind this isn't the first time they did a real diagnostic and didn't give a fake high price assessment. He deserves great business and I wish I could keep them as my secret but that would be unfair to the genuine service he always shows me You need an honest opinion come here, he's worth whatever bill it is... Best you'll get! I've been ripped off at other places, being told I need unnecessary repairs, being charged $100 just to look and try to diagnose a problem (and then were unable to)... I was referred to Burma by a friend and first visit, they looked at my car, took them 5 minutes ti diagnose what the actual problem was. How much did they charge me to look and diagnose? $0. SOLD! I was told it'd need to be fixed eventually but not immediately, and to come back only when I had to. They didn't pressure me to book a follow-up or anything.. I don't think they would've cared if I didn't come back because they have plenty of business already! The quotes they've given me are significantly less than all other places I've been to, and they do a much better ojb. Once I went in for a follow-up repair and the older brother actually asked me "how much did I tell you last time?"... he put the trust in me and my word, versus going back on his original word and quoting a price he couldn't remember. Because of all this, I've been going to them for years. They are reliable, trustworthy, very fairly priced, and clearly know their stuff. They don't speak too much (though I still try to chat and joke with them! Not sure if they enjoy that! haha). I've done things as small as oil changes and as large as timing belt/water pump replacement. If you're looking for a pristine shop and 5 star Lexus lounge service, you're not going to find this here... they're like a dive shop equivalent. But if you're looking for trustworthy, great work at fair pricing then Burma's your place. read more

There are two brothers who own this shop, Jason and Art. Both are expert mechanics. I have used them several times and they are very honest. I trust them. I have come to them with repairs some other mechanics and tow truck companies have thought problems were, and was willing to pay. They showed me what was really wrong and saved me a lot of money. How many mechanics do that? I don't know of many. I made them my regular mechanics now. I have never waited more than 20 minutes for an oil change saving me lots of time. Fastest oil changes I know. Only down side is that on Saturday's they are very busy. I figure they are busy because people know they are good. Can't take away a star for that. read more

Stay away from Burma motors! Yes, they have good ratings on Yelp, but I had a very bad experience with them. Yesterday one guy at Burma motors did an oil change for my car, but he didn't put the seal ring into the right place. Unfortunately I didn't notice that. So the oil had been leaking for one day until the indicator light warned me and at the same time I heard a strange noise from my engine. Luckily I was in a local road, and I cannot imagine what would happen if I was in the highway. I called a friend and asked him to bring some oil. He checked and later confirmed that the seal ring was broken because the Burma guy didn't put it all the way to the bottom. It broke when he screw the oil filter. Such a careless operation almost ruined my car. I will not go there anymore. read more

engine lite came on with code P1456, they replaced some part, cost me $320, a month later same code came on I took it back, they blame on something else, wont take responsibility for their work, that is the last time I take my car there, to me is sad saw so many good review. For over 20 years, I was actually servicing 3 of our cars (Mercedes, Lexus RX300, and Camry) with G&S Auto Dynamics run by 2 brothers near Riverdale road in Maryland who closed their shop. Then as I expected, I got ripped off for 2 years at various places until I found Burma Motors. They now take care of my Acura MDX and my Lexus. I simple give the cars to them and request them to do whatever is needed to maintain them in excellent condition. That's how much I trust them. There are only 2 points to consider with any Auto Mechanic - (1) How well work gets done (2) Cost. The brothers Jason & Art are too good in these areas.
