Just off 2nd and 45th is Burp Bowl. Your typical noodle bar. What it lacks in decor it makes up 100% in flavor. We had the broth wonton as well as the beef tripe noodles and cucumber salad. All were excellent. The noodles were spicy with just the right amount of Szechuan pepper to not totally numb your tastebuds so you can't taste anything else. I came here looking for a quick and cheap lunch near grand central on a Friday around noon. I walked in and while the restaurant was crowded there was no line to order. I got the spicy chicken rice noodles. There are a few seating tables, but the restaurant can probably seat 15 people max, not the most table space to dine in. There is also plenty of food traffic here around lunch time with plenty of delivery order and other pick up request. Would recommend calling ahead to order to save you some time. It took them around 12 mins for my food to come out, and it was quite well packaged for me to take to-go. I ate my meal after about 20 mins later when I had the chance to sit down and the noodles were still warm and delightful. For under 15 dollars, I thought this meal was quite the steal. The rice noodles were honestly something I will definitely be coming back for. There was plenty of meat and vegetables in the noodles. The noodles themselves were soft and well cooked. It was not too spicy by any means, but was made with enough chili oil to properly bring out the flavor. I was a big fan of the meat as well, properly prepared and no bones or tendons in my meal. For the price, I think burp bowl is an absolute steal, if you find yourself near grand central looking for a quick lunch spot, would definitely recommend. read more

It is packed with a lot little wontons and the serving of extra chicken is a nice portion size. There was enough of everything to make two meals out of my food. The soup was not as spicy as I would have liked, but I was able to work with it. I would definitely order again. This would be a nice and easy meal to order and take home for the family. I don't know what the rave is about... the soup tastes like it's got a ton of MSG in it, there were like 5 tiny pieces of meat in the soup, and I was so thirsty after eating here. The most terrifying thing is this place has no AC. It's not a problem in the winter, but when I went it was boiling hot in there, and they only had an overhead fan. I cannot imagine ever going here again since it's getting warmer and warmer. The wonton soup portion was on the small side, so I would not order that again. Their signature beef soup noodle really hit the spot, the bowl was full so you have to be careful carrying it. You can choose the spice level. The beef was very tender, full of taste and flavor. Soup was savory and the cilantro really added a new level of flavor. This was a really good dish and I wanted more after I finished my bowl. The price is fair and reasonable for midtown location. I hope this place stays in business.
