Burrito Bar was recommended, which was good because it happened to be Happy Hour. A short walk across Atlantic Ave to connect to Flatbush & we were there & seated minutes later. Burrito Bar has indoor & outdoor front patio seating as well as a bar area. We opted to sit inside & be surrounded by colorful decor. We were brought complimentary vibrant chips & dip, however we also ordered Guacamole & Chips. We ordered Classic Margaritas - HH ($7) which were good for the price. Came on a Sunday after brunch fail at 2 nearby spots. Was seated quickly, wasn't too busy. This place has been around for a long time. Nice Mexican themed decor with a full bar and plenty of sitting. In the summer they have the outdoors but I'm not sure if they still do that. I ordered the spicy ginger Patron margarita which came with a piece of ginger toffee; it was ok. For dinner I had the pulled chicken enchiladas with Mexican rice and beans, that was good. My friend ordered the sizzling fajitas with chiken and shrimp; she said it lacked flavor and didn't recieve the pablano pepper that it's supposed to come with. She had the passionfruit tropical margarita and something else that she liked. For appetizer we tried the pineapple salsa with chips: it wasn't my favorite. My friend also had the soup. If you are a chicken, a crab, or a tilapia, I apologize for what I have done here, and am hoping you avoid a fate of being a dish at this restaurant. No, the food is not bad at all, but it did not make me feel happy I stopped in here. High prices, relatively small portions, and some questionable calls in some of their dishes make me question, IS THERE ANY DECENT MEXICAN FOOD IN THIS CITY? So far the answer is no. The tortilla soup is deceiving in a few ways. You think you are getting a bowlful of deliciousness from your abuela, but in no time, the chicken and everything inside runs thin. The manager saw this and offered me more, but knowing I had other things coming and fearing an upcharge, I declined. The crab nachos are tasty, but skimpy. I could probably count how many chips I had in this sizzling plate. That is a hole that needs to be covered fast. The fish tacos are the last thing I ate. Two to an order, once I found out the fish they use is tilapia, I was immediately unimpressed. Tilapia is a cheap fish that makes the whole dish cheap. They are like the vanilla ice cream of fish. Overused to the point of overkill but bring nothing to the meal. At least it comes with a side of rice and beans that work nicely. The alcoholic cider I got was nice for the fall, but that is not going to get me head over heels swooning for more stars. Lastly, before I left, I pulled a William Howard Taft, getting stuck to my chair; when I tried to get up, I nearly knocked my table over, which had a pitcher of water on it and a lit candle, causing a mess but avoided a fire. I know I am a big guy, but that is outrageous. Sticky situations like this one are reasons not to stop in here, unless you are looking for a quick drink. Came out here for lunch during work on Monday! I'm from Texas and most of my team is from the northeast, so I think I have a higher standard for Mexican fare. I thought the food was ok, but my coworkers loved it. The Agua Fresca was kinda watery to me and the burrito was a bit bland, but I still enjoyed the meal and the company. Burrito Bar is my go to place !!!! I will never get tired of coming here, I've been coming here for almost 10 years or more time flies. My favorite server is Seriche, he is very attentive, he's bilingual in Spanish, he makes your experience so much better, the man knows his stuff and his recommendations are amazing. It was a pleasure meeting the new owner Scott, he was also very attentive and very helpful to his workers. From what I've seen Scott is doing an amazing job. The ambiance is always amazing, everyone is always so happy, the music is great, the bar is always full. Burrito bar has the best happy hour. Some of my favorite dishes are the sizzling fajitas, the shrimp burrito, the black bean nachos as an appetizer, there wings (they take about 20 mins to prepare as they are made to order), the calamari's are to die for, and so much more. My go to drink is the frozen coconut margarita it gets topped off with roasted coconut flakes. Me and my girlfriends were having such a wonderful time that unfortunately we had no pictures this time. But you guys will not be disappointed. And before I forget burrito bar stays open later on nights that the Barclays has events. read more

I had been here in the past and felt indifferent about the food/drinks. A couple of months ago I met a friend here during happy hour and thought wow this was much better than I remembered! Lol. I stopped by again recently with a friend on a very busy Friday night and we were seated outside within about 40 minutes. Went there the other day around 9pm after a day of appointments and meetings. I got the nachos and a coconut mojito. The nachos were good (I'll ask for less cheese next time and guac on the side), especially the chips. The mojito was phenomenal. Perfectly made, not too sweet, just enough coconut flavor, and a nice piece of sugarcane to chew on. The waiter was really nice and attentive without hovering. I had a red sangria. My husband had a classic margarita on the rocks. Flavor was just right. Strength of alcohol was also just right. I only needed one drink to feel "something". My husband ordered a couple of shots for friends. It was a cute moment. The bottle was huge. We didn't pay for the bottle but it's like a thing for them to bring the bottle directly to the table to pour it into the lemon shaped glasses. It was a moment like I said. Lol. We did not try the food so I cannot speak on it. However, people near us talked about the food only being "ok". I did enjoy the decor and vibe of the restaurant. I had gone to an event at the Barclays Center and was extremely hungry. This restaurant is only a 10 minute walk. I usually don't hesitate but that night was one of the coldest one of the year but I'm so glad my hunger was stronger than my need to be warm. My family and I were blessed with food options that were described so deliciously well on the menu that I felt like my eyes had been fed. There was so much Mexican inspired dishes to choose from but we picked nachos that was filled with chili, beans, picot de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. It was so filling that I ended up only ordering mozzarella sticks but with a twist...their marinara sauce was mixed with chipotle and it was so good. My daughter ordered from the kids menu and had the cutest tiny chicken quesadillas. She usually doesn't eat her whole plate but this time she did because of how appetizing it was. We ended dinner with an order of churros, which we all enjoyed. I can't compliment the restaurant staff enough. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was welcomed to the point that it felt like I was visiting a cousin who was inviting me over for some homemade food. The waiter was so chill and informative. I couldn't make up my mind about which flavored margarita to order and he highly recommended the frozen coconut margarita. I'm so glad I took his recommendation because it is now my go-to drink. It tasted like a tropical island, which is where I wished to be during this cold winter season. The waiter also stopped us from ordering the Mexican pizza for our daughter because other kids have disliked it due to beans being spread on the pizza instead of marinara sauce. The manager also made a pit stop at the beginning and end to ask us how we were doing and if we loved the food. He also saw that out table was a bit wonky and fixed it up for us before we were served. The ambiance here is very family friendly and cool with its neon lights and wooden tables and chairs. Man this is a tough area for restaurant competition. Burrito bar is very colorful inside, heavily themed, with excellent service. The food is average. Nothing out of this world but nothing bad. The beyond tacos were really nicely seasoned but very very small. They are NOT your standard taco size at all. Bathroom is small (and they only had one bathroom) for the size of the restaurant.
