I love the food here, but the service absolutely sucks. I'm a regular customer and have spent a lot of money here over the years, which is why this experience was so frustrating. I arrived around 6:00 PM and sat at the bar for drinks and food. Before leaving, I placed a to-go order that included fish tacos, rice, and refried beans. When I received my order, they had substituted whole beans instead. When I pointed it out, the main bartender told me they had run out of refried beans. No one mentioned that when I placed the order, even though I ordered before the game-day menu changes went into effect. What happened next is what earned this review. One bartender took the container back but seemed confused about what I was asking for. Ten minutes later, I had to ask again before the replacement order was finally entered. After that, I sat there waiting, trying to get someone's attention and wondering if anyone was actually going to follow up. The only time the main bartender acknowledged me was to ask if I was ready to settle my bill. So I paid. I tipped. And then I kept waiting. Meanwhile, new customers arrived and were immediately welcomed and told the bar was theirs, while I sat there waiting for food that should have been corrected long before. The customers themselves were perfectly nice. My issue was with the staff acting as though I didn't exist. Eventually, the manager came over and asked if everything was okay. I explained what had happened and that I had ordered before the menu changed. She apologized and brought out the refried beans, but by then I had been waiting roughly 45 minutes for a simple correction. At that point, it wasn't about the beans anymore. It was about being ignored. Mistakes happen. Running out of an item happens. But ignoring a customer for 45 minutes, especially a regular customer who has already paid and tipped, is unacceptable. I understand it was getting busy and that they had reservations coming in for the game. What I don't understand is why no one thought to resolve an issue for a customer who was already there before shifting their attention to everyone else. The food keeps bringing me back, but the service keeps disappointing me. The truth is, this isn't the first time I've had a poor service experience here. I've given this place a pass more than once because the food is good and because I wanted to support a local business that I genuinely enjoy. This experience was simply the point where I could no longer excuse it. In a neighborhood with plenty of great options, customer service matters. After this experience, I'll be spending my money elsewhere. read more

LOOOOOVE THIS PLACE! I spend my time between Brooklyn and Los Angeles, and this place is one of the only places in New York that really gets Mexican food. The -only- place in New York that has fresh crispy chips and delicious salsa. Tacos? All amazing. Burritos? PERFECT. I've been here many many times and it just gets better. You! This place is da bomb! Seriously! The ambiance is cute; is colorful, lively and happy. The staff are attentive and efficient. The food...you! It's delicious! The tortilla chips are homemade. The salsa has a slight kick. The real star though it the steak burrito. 1st, it's large, substantial, 2 meals worth of food. 2nd, but not just any filling... the steak, chunks of perfectly cooked and seasoned steak... so good. Nenos was one of my favorites back in Rochester, and is my favorite Mexican restaurant anywhere so I was really excited when I heard they're coming to NY. The menu isn't exactly the same but the food was still delicious. Moving to NY, I expected it to be a bit pricier but it was more than reasonable. They did mention they were looking to have the same menu as the one in roc so I'm definitely coming back for that. 100/10 would recommend!! read more

Great staff! The service was the best part, the food second, which is a good thing I promise. Forgot to take pics of my food so forgive me. I ordered the birria torta and it was fireeeeee. My friend ordered the birria taco and they enjoyed that as well. The chips + guac & michelada were also bangin, especially the michelada - you'll be surprised how many places ruin the drink. This spot has been a weird black hole in our neighborhood--this must be the third restaurant to open here just in the last three years. After popping in here for their soft opening a couple of weeks ago, I'm hopeful and optimistic we finally have a winner. We started with an excellent House Guacamole; then shared a Taco platter sampler--got an assortment including Birria tacos, Al Pastor tacos, Chicken taco, veggie and chicken Enchiladas tacos. Allyson were good, with the Birria and Al pastor strong favorites. No booze yet when we went, they were working on their liquor license (based on other reviews, seems like that has been blissfully fixed!). Did have some Jarritos sodas though, which made the kiddo happy (and me too, to be perfectly honest!) Shout out to our server Marvin Ramirez, who was super friendly, being extra attentive to my stepson and bringing out some stuff for him to draw with. He also told us a lot about the restaurant, the business and their start as a street car (I believe in Portland?) and hopes to bring that street food style to this restaurant, which is nice and spacious inside and already doling out some strong food at their soft open--excited to have this spot nearby! read more

Came here for lunch after peeking in through the window and seeing how cute it was inside ! Could be romantic or just aesthetically pleasing environment. The drinks was so good! Food was ok. The service was very poor. The servers gathered and were gossiping and laughing at our table the whole time. (Yes at us, they pointed at other people from my party several times, while laughing and whispering.) They were glaring at us and when they served us our food they gave some of the party dirty looks. Our entire party felt very uncomfortable and it was not a good dining experience. I visited Neno's for the first time on May 5, 2026 and was extremely disappointed! I understand it was a busy cinco de mayo but the service and food quality was horrible. Guacamole seemed like it was pre-made store bought from Key Food across the street with added chopped tomato and cilantro. The texture was not from fresh or quality avocado. The asada con queso taco had no cheese and meat was tough. The al pastor taco was extremely oily. The birria tacos were just okay but the meat was very dry. I really wanted to like this place, but it was difficult to enjoy the food and the server was hardly available. I hope Neno's gets it together because it is a very cute restaurant. read more

Found a gem right in my neighborhood. I love when an establishment greets you when you come it for me it makes the visit that much more. I had the nachos and chips and then a pineapple margarita and for my food food I had 2 chicken tacos and one shrimp. They are healthy in size and very good with all the toppings to go with them. The service was good as well very helpful host's who make sure you are ok. I really recommend this place and will be coming back real soon with some friends who love good food too. Myrtle Ave Restaurant Week brought me here and I really think this place needs better marketing to draw people in. The waitress told me that they have daily all day happy hour drinks with $10 mojitos and margaritas. I got the mojito and I saw her muddling the mint and she put her elbow grease in it. I ended up getting two! Vibrant colors, Orange/pink brick walls , hanging flowers, and a decent size seating area where you can still feel intimate with 20 other people there. The Restaurant week menu had a lot of American items- ribs, steak, wings. They were good, but I do wish they put a Mexican spin on them (Mexican seasoning) , but after speaking to the staff they're trying to bring in American clientele. That was a little disappointing, but the waitress was so nice, friendly and you could tell that she genuinely cared about the restaurant which makes me want to come back. Great new spot in the neighborhood. We started with the queso fundido, pleasantly stringy, cheesy, and with a little bit of kick to it. Then we had the papas y hongos quesadillas with chili lime tofu and the fish tacos. The former was a large portion of four wedges and very flavorful--refried beans were some of the best we've had!The latter was a special--4 tacos for the price of 3! The fish portions were large and incredibly fresh--clean and crisp with no fishy flavor. A complete steal at $16. Service is warm and friendly, and the food came out fast. Man, I really wanted to love this place. Before they were opening I read a write up about them saying they had amazing food up in Rochester and were coming to Brooklyn for their grand opening in the big smoke. Stopped by before they even had their liquor license to give them a shot and got several items off the menu to feel the place out. Right out of the gate I noticed the portion sizes were massive. I could easily just get one taco for a quick lunch and be satisfied. Tried the fish taco, got the kids a quesadilla and had a couple of the steak and pork tacos as well. Overall everything was just meh. It wasn't bad by any means, it was just big and bland. No spice level at all in any of the dishes which was disappointing. The ingredients were all good quality, just wasn't anything special. The whole staff were super nice and extra accommodating to my family, so I don't want to discourage anyone from trying this place out. I was just hoping for more of an authentic Mexican street food style restaurant, instead of an American style one. Will give them another shot in the future, maybe try a burrito or something different. read more

This place is kind of a hot mess but well intentioned. Beers were not listed on the menu but I looked at the taps and ordered a Brooklyn Lager. The waiter they said they only had the Mexican beers (3 of the 6 I think, totally cool). I order the Dos Equis Amber. Guy turns back up with a bottle. I ask about the draft - no draft beer. Ok. He had brought me a Dos Equis Lager. Not a huge deal at all, but just sort of tone deaf all around. The veggie burrito I got was wildly mediocre.
