We all know Burrito Boy isn't the culinary future for fine mexican cuisine, but on the other hand, they make some pretty decent burritos. Not the best, but they work for what they are. Today a friend and I swung in and grabbed a few bacon and egg breakfast burritos. For 3 burritos it was $14, so it's faily priced and good in portion size. The burrito was a flour tortilla that had egg, bacon and potatoes. Even though it was simple, the green salsa added a perfect taste and it was solid. But really...a lil pico de gallo, or even cilantro and onions would've been a nice touch. Not complaining...mildly suggesting. This location is a lot more spacious and cleaner than others, customer service is great, and they have a nice drive through that's a great option when swinging by and not having the time to go in and sit. You can call it in, pay at the window, and be on your way. My original review points out how this is the best mexican I had ever tried, that is not accurate...possibly then, certainly not as of now, but for the price tag and quantity i can pass down a solid 3.5! read more

I really didn't want to write this one, but after four attempts over three months, I must report to potential customers--but primarily and hopefully to owners--that I've never seen worse "customer service" than at the W 11th Boy. I mean, beyond a stray bad day, the AM weekday staff is aggressively, actively inattentive and actually rude to customers. Unlike every other local Boy. The place served it's purpose. Late night, in the bars all night, nothing in the fridge where at I was staying. I had a Chili releno burrito, really tasty at 2:00am. I remember the chips satisfying me as well. It's pretty much typical mexican fast food that you find in most college towns. Their burrito cant hold a flame to La Bamba's. When you want good mexican food fast, this is the place to go! Their food is incredibly tasty. They've got amazing burritos (my fave is the carne asada wet burrito, get it I say!!) This is a favorite of mine, they serve huge sloppy burritos and late at night too. My only complaint is the one by VRC with the drive thru, ALWAYS gets every single order wrong when I've gone there, which is 10+ times...So I avoid that specific one. But otherwise its awesome. read more

Since my carne asada "boy" burrito experience was questionable, the next time, with help from Yelp, I ordered a bean and cheese burrito (special for $4 w a drink). That's the way to go. Also got the warmed chips and guacamole for an extra $3, but the guac was almost runny it was so smooth. It poured out of the container. Not sure what they blend it with to do that but I found it unappetizing, though the taste was ok. I loved the green salsa! Next time I may try an enchilada and/or tamale.:) And I will be back for the bean and cheese burrito for the perfect frijoles and fresh tortilla alone! read more

We have eaten here a number of times and had mostly good experiences. The employees are always polite and courteous. However, I have been to this Burrito Boy, as well as the one on Chambers, and the one at Valley River. I have never seen the people making the food wearing gloves. That has always worried me. I think gloves and hair nets (when needed) should be worn when working in the food industry. The food has been good. The only exception is every time we have gotten a "wet" burrito, it has been cold. Taco salad is very good. The veggie burrito has way too many onions. The guacamole and salsa are great. As a spell-freak, I am wondering why the word "tomatoes" is spelled incorrectly on every menu as "tomatos". Just wondering. Overall, I give Burrito Boy 4 stars. read more

Man, I loved these burritos when I had the opportunity to eat them. Dry or wet, chicken or steak, they were always hearty and delicious. This was the first restaurant I ate at in Eugene and also the last after my graduation from UO. I absolutely hate cilantro, and one of the things that made this place special was that I could order the salsa in my burrito without cilantro--a first. And though I've heard that prices have really inflated since I've last eaten here, I'll definitely never forget how good these burritos tasted. read more

I tried Burrito Boy for the first time a few weeks ago, and I was thoroughly unimpressed. I ordered a " chicken taco salad" which proved to be the saddest excuse for a salad I have ever seen. The meat-to-lettuce ratio was completely off, so I was overwhelmed by chicken (and all of the other toppings). In terms of flavor, my meal just did not cut it. The chicken was bland and the refried beans were overpowering. The guacamole at Burrito Boy is more like a sauce made from blended avocado. Call me a traditionalist, but I much prefer my guac to be chunky. Leave the sauciness to the verde salsa, which is actually pretty tasty at Burrito Boy. On a more positive note: the service at this particular Burrito Boy location is extremely fast, the staff is warm and friendly, and the portion sizes are huge for the low price. Went there for food not slow service, dangerous food handling practices and then incapable people to try abs fix the issue. We were inside with one other gentleman in the lobby waiting for our Togo orders. One person at the drive up window same thing. Kitchen cranking out the food while "Junior" at the register proceeds to try and count how much the tip jar was, divide it into 3 and make proper change for each from the till. Meanwhile more people start coming in ordering and having to wait for him to continue to try and, count, sort, stack and count. All while food is ready, getting cold, and he is all up in the handling of money, cards and unsanitary exchanges with customers. We finally step up to get our food expedited and help the other guy get his food. Now he is looking all the food stacked up on the back counter trying to sort it into to go bags and that is where the sanitary thing just took over and we demanded our money back. He couldn't give us a refund, he didn't know how, no one did but he wanted to give us an email address to contact to try and get our money back. Finally an employee comes from the back and tells him to refund us the cash and make a note. Oh My Gosh that was hard. Wouldn't give any stars but the app requires it. read more

Most days they have the best burritos in town. Some days the tortillas are under cooked or the portions are smaller than usual. I guess it depends on who's working at the time. They almost never have enough salsa bottles out so you end up having to share with another table. Recently the prices have increased and the attitude of some of the employees has gotten really bad. Dismal "Mexican" food. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the lady at the counter was so kind, and the service was speedy. Tells me it's not the workers' fault. I got the shredded beef taco plate. The rice and beans were lukewarm and tasted like they were cooked early in the day. Yuck. That wasn't the worst part - the beef was impossible to chew and utterly tasteless. There were only 3 chunks of beef in the taco, I ended taking two of them out because they weren't edible. This restaurant is completely unsanitary. First there's flies flying around everywhere. Then the lady who made my burrito was making it with her bare hands, just mushing everything together. I thought I would give a try anyways so I ate it but it was nothing special, very little meat and an oddly bland taste. A few hours later after driving to Bend for a Yonder Mountain String Band concert I got some of the most painful stomach cramps I've ever experienced and was sick all night. This was my second visit and all though I didn't get sick the first time, the poorly constructed burrito and chance of food poisoning are not worth another visit. Burrito Boy...I knew you when...you were the very first Mexican fast food in all of Eugeneland (not counting Taco Bell!). Back then, I was so grateful to have you in town that I devoured your burritos, your quesadillas, your taquitos with abandon. Fast forward to the year 2014. What happened?!? I went to the West 11th location two weeks ago to have a plate of beef nachos. Meat tasted "old." But armed with my loyalty for this first-ever Mex fast food joint, I shrugged it off thinking "that which does not kill me..." We came in at 8:45pm and noticed that they had closed off the back section of the restaurant (they close at 10pm). After we ordered & sat down, my friend noticed that the grill looked like it had already been turned off (coz no food was being cooked and no pots were on it) and one of the ladies was standing with her shoes on top of the grill of the stove and dusting the upper area (hood) of the grill with the broom. There was this frantic closing cleaning activities going on (at 8:45pm?). I usually don't even pay attention to these things. Windex was on the cutting board with a rag where food was being prepared. One of the staff was sweeping the front area where the customers were seated, making the dirt airborne. It just had this whole feel that they would much rather close the shop than take any more orders. We came back yesterday around 8:55pm and it was the exact same thing to the letter! Lady on top of the stove dusting with the broom spreading the dirt from ceiling to where food was being prepped and wrapped up, back section closed off, another girl sweeping with a frenzy kicking up dirt and dust on the front section where customers were eating, surly lady at the counter with such an attitude she couldn't care less whether you ordered or not. Windex with a rag on the cutting board. My friend & I looked around & saw exactly the same scenario we saw two weeks ago. The food we got served was lukewarm, tortilla was cold and chewy. The feel of the place now seems like they couldn't give a s--t for any customer service whatsoever--as long as people are willing to buy their food, they know they'll make their money no matter what. The whole charge on your credit card is another issue I'm not even gonna get into, but the other reviewers were right--watch your debit/credit charges. Pay attention to your receipts. In these hard economic times, place your vote by taking your business where it counts--people and businesses who try harder to earn your loyalty with good quality food and reasonable service. Vote with your hard-earned money and take your business to places that sincerely appreciate it and constantly try to earn it. It'll be a statement that will not go unnoticed. So as you all know most Mexican food in Eugene is basically crap but besides Las Brasas I like the burrito boy off river road. i get to it by the bike path & even though it's in a rough part of town I've e always considered it a great stop. This is the place to be around 3 am in Eugene. It's quite a sight. Girls are oddly overdressed for a fast food restaurant since they just left the bars. Went to burrito boy today, my account shows an inaccurate charge, as well as the correct charge. I called to verify the accuracy of the charges and received a load of crap from "Daisy" at the Valley river location. She said "I am leaving now so I am not responsible." When I asked her if she would be ok with extra charges, she stated "I would not mind." I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO ANY BURRITO BOY LOCATION EVER!!!!! Here is what I get: the adobada burrito. The end. I've tried other things on their menu, but this is the only item I come back to eat. The location near McDonald Theatre doesn't have adobada burritos, so don't go there. Overall, the sizes have shrunk since the recession hit, but I don't mind, because I can't finish a really big burrito on my own; it's less food wasted. Your mileage may vary. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. About twice a week my office (with my recommendation) we will order machaca, we typically use either Burrito Boy or one of the street vendors. Never again will we go to Burrito Boy! I don't find your food spicy enough for my palate so I asked for 1 jalapeno to be chopped up and sprinkled on top she immediately got an attitude- the little girl Meagan told me she would have to charge me $1.75 for 1 jalapeno. I kept trying to explain to her I didn't need a whole container just 1 jalapeno- Then when I got there she was obviously in a bad mood, when I was getting my card to pay- it got stuck in my wallet and I pulled it out meaning to hand it her- but it dropped out of my hand- Meagan gave me attitude about it- accusing me of throwing my card at her. She made some snide comment etc. Meagan shouldn't be your main point of contact with the public. You just lost a customer who spent an average of $100.00 a month at your restaurant over her bad attitude and 1 jalapeno. By the way I paid for the jalapeno and never got it. When I used to live in Eugene, my stomach used to take me to this place at least a couple times a week (it didn't hurt that I lived a block away). I even got punched by a hooker outside once when I was drunk! (long story) I highly recommend this as drunk food (open 24/7) or sober food. The Wet Burrito is the way to go. Ugh, the last bean and cheese burrito I had at Burrito Boy was awful. All it consisted of was a greasy blob of cheese and refried beans. Maybe it was good, had I been drunk, but it was lunch time at work and I regretted the choice for hours. The West 11th Location seems to be the least special of all of the Burrito Boy locations I have visited. When you walk in, you kind of get the impression that its location on Fast Food row on West 11th made whoever was deciding on the decor just sort of give up on any kind of theme or atmosphere. The food is pretty much the same as the other Burrito Boy locations, but I advise you to get your food to go. I swear it feels like a McDonald's in there! LOL read more
