Burrito Express/Charro (Bear): My Say, My Way... 11-17-18 2:30PM Parking was easy, strip mall, plenty of places to park. This was a relatively small place, maybe 10 tables or so. I came in after lunchtime, the place had take out going non stop, and had some customers at tables as well. I had a good feeling as soon as I stepped in. Service was excellent, my server was polite , and accommodating. My order came out faster than I had expected. I don't think they serve alcohol here. I could be wrong, but I didn't see that option. I ordered a coke bottle. It was cold and refreshing. Chips & Salsa!!!! Chips... crispy, fried light, lightly salted, solid chip. Salsa... Red:pureed pretty hard, soupy consistency, great mix of flavor with a nice mild spicy kick to it. Creamy orange: thicker consistency, quite spicy actually perhaps some habaneros in there. Had me sweating, watery eyes, and sneezing a bit Green: chunky, tasted some cilantro and avocado in there. Not as spicy as the orange, but still some kick to it. I ordered flautas: 4 chicken flautas served with guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. Chicken was a little on the dry side when you just ate the flauta alone. When accompanied by the pico and sour cream, everything married together in perfect harmony. Crispy, but not fried too hard. You could actually eat the entire tortilla. The pico had some surprise chopped jalapenos in it. I added some of the green salsa for even more kick. I ordered tacos Mexicanos $2 each. I chose carnitas, pastor, and longaniza y cabeza. Carnitas...perfect balance of crispy and tender. Amazing tacos!!! They were small, but loaded with meat. The tortillas were fresh and crispy as well. Pastor...seasoned flawlessly. Great pastor taco, one of the best around. Lonaniza y cabeza...great taste, a bit greasy, but solid. Pretty much the same a a chorizo taco. Tasted a hint of cinnamon in there, which I'm never about. I'd say middle of the road. I ordered some take out as well... Sopes...I chose pastor as my meat. Even when I warmed it up later in the evening it was delicious. Just what I expect when I get a Mexican pizza. Tamales...The chicken were on point, moist, and not dry at all. I used the green salsa to dip them in. The jalapeno cheese were by far my favorite. I'll def be back to get more when I'm in the area.

First impressions are last impressions so in the case of the taste of my meal I had here, it was delicious. The store is tucked inside a small shopping centre on the very end so it would be very easy to miss. I'm familiar with the area but never been or noticed here. Worth the find. Wanted authentic Mexican food and received nothing short of just that. For starters for my first time I tried the empanadas which come with 3, rice, and side salad. Empanadas were golden, crispy and real warm. Tender juicy pieces of chicken inside. Only thing I would change or add is some more seasoning. It's still delicious either way. Definitely returning in the future. Next victim the enchiladas lol.

Found this place randomly on doordash during the height of COVID and haven't stopped going back since. Food is always fresh & flavorful. Would definitely recommend!

You know it's authentic when even the mild sauce is hot

I've been coming to this place for years, but this Keto life has kept me away. Tonight, though, I'm tired, cold and Keto'd out. This little corner place in Bear has better, authentic, Mexican food than most big cities I've been too. Service is prompt and polite. The food is fresh and hot. The restaurant is cozy, and clean. Since I was cheating, I went for broke. Started with the Chorizo Queso. The meat was spicy and cooked just right. I should've stopped there but decided to have the beef chimichangas for my main course. The tortilla shells were fried nice and crisp, and the seasoned steak inside was juicy and tender. I soooo needed this and so do you. This place just makes you feel comfortable, and they always got some soccer match on....lol

So good. So perfect. Great portion sizes. Great prices. Perfect flavor. If you're looking for seriously authentic Mexican food in the Wilmington area, this is definitely a place to check out. It's in the back on the corner, so don't drive by. Trust your directions. I had the steak tacos. Perfection. My father had a burrito. It was glorious. My mama had the flan. Delightful. My daughter and son had the cheese quesadilla and rice from the kids menu. Perfect size for kids. The rice was soft, fluffy, and yummy. Hubs had tacos too. He got five and that was way too many. 3-4 would have been enough. Great service. Clean bathroom. My only regret is that I didn't try the Mexican Hot Chocolate.

By far the tastiest most reasonably price hidden gem! Highly recommend if you're in the mood for authentic Mexican food. We had their taquitos and they didn't fail to please. Tasty with your choice of salsas while you wait. Two meals with drinks - $19.50!!

Tiny place. Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Breakfast burrito with chorizo is awesome, light on the potatoes. So glad we found this place.

A quick glance at the menu and its detailed descriptions left little doubt that the restaurant well deserved its reputation. Offering unique twists on familiar flavor profiles, it promised a spectacular dining experience, and it absolutely delivered. Located in the heart of downtown Wilmington, Bardea Steak is situated among several other praiseworthy dining destinations. The building itself has been beautifully refurbished, retaining its rustic character while introducing an elevated, modern, yet comfortable feel. It had a great vibe inside and out. I was greeted by a staff full of friendly charm, and they provided exquisite service throughout the entire meal. After ordering a beverage, I spent some time reviewing the menu. Each dish featured an intriguing and slightly mysterious title and description. I highly encourage you to read through each item before making your selection. Most importantly, ask questions; the servers are fantastic at shedding additional light on what each plate has to offer. The Hamachi Bomb was one such item. A locally celebrated favorite, this dish is a creative twist on a traditional Hamachi roll. It features the freshest sushi encapsulated in a crispy nori shell, served alongside a well-balanced soy dipping sauce. In all honesty, the Hamachi Bomb was incredible on its own, but the sauce complemented it perfectly. Ditch the utensils here, you'll understand why the moment you try to use them! The dish offers a wonderful combination of fresh ingredients to kick off your night. While it is served as four small rolls, they are surprisingly filling. With an impressive array of surf and turf options, I was ultimately drawn to my favorite cut of steak: the New York Strip, featuring their Aberdeen Angus. It was a stunning bone-in steak boasting exceptional marbling and an elevated, rich flavor profile. Cooked to absolute perfection, it arrived at the table beautifully sliced to capture every single bite of that incredible beef. Frankly, it was one of the best steaks I have ever consumed. For my side, I selected the roasted Broccoli Di Ciccio which came tossed with a flavorful lemongrass curry and chili crisp. It was packed with bold flavor and served in an abundant portion that perfectly matched my generous cut of beef. Overall, my dining experience at Bardea Steak was exceptional from beginning to end. The service was superb and incredibly friendly, making an already out-of-the-world meal even better. The restaurant's endless accolades and high ratings are entirely deserved, it is no mystery why the dining room was packed. From the excellent bar offerings to the vast, creative menu, this spot hits every single mark. While seafood lovers will find plenty to enjoy, their true mastery lies in their beef, which is prepared with expert precision and genuine TLC. If you find yourself in Wilmington, Delaware, do yourself a favor and make Bardea Steak a destination. It is a truly fabulous restaurant. Bon Appetite!

The drinks including a glass of wine and martini were good. The baked bread appetizer came with a frozen piece of butter. If you make a compound butter, it usually tastes better room temperature. 5 minutes after the bread arrived, the Caesar salad arrived. No salad plates were provided. Within 1-2 minutes after salad was delivered, the steaks arrived. I don't mind salad with my meal if it's part of the culture of the restaurant. However, at most steakhouses where I've been, the salad is a separate course served prior to the main course. The steaks ordered were the bone in strip and the filet. Both steaks were heavily over salted. We ordered the béarnaise sauce and the French onion butter as toppings, and both were unremarkable. The roasted potatoes side dish was delicious as was the salad. The ambiance of the restaurant is great. It's a shame the seasoning for the food and the presentation and timing of the food delivery aren't better controlled.
