By far one of if not the worst Mexican restraunts I have tried in all of the bay. Ordered a burrito and the meat tasted horrible as of it was expired and beans had a horrible aftertaste to them. I was in the area and was craving for a burrito. According to Yelp, the closest location is Burrito Express. The reviews were pretty good and highly recommended the Express. The place is pretty small and crowded. I had to get in line near the door. The cashier was really nice and took my order. He could be the owner, but not sure. The order took about 10 minutes, pretty normal for an authentic Mexican food. The burrito wasn't so bad, but I was hoping for a bigger size. They did add a good amount of carne asada though. This was the SPOT back in middle & high school. Take those 1 star reviews with a grain of salt because the original burrito here is hands down the best burrito I've ever had in my life and the shredded chicken nachos definitely fall in my Top 5 as well. I can just speak for the carnitas burrito, it was probably one of the worst burritos I paid for at that prices range. 90% sour cream, beans, then rice and the 10% meat was shoved into one corner of the burrito. I called in to give feedback to the workers there just to be helpful, she said I am the first to say this. Then as the conversation went on about all my points, she admitted that the cook was new and someone still hasn't been in to train. She also admitted to the fact when it is busy, food come out messed up. Sweet girl though. Too bad I can't recommend burritos at this place. When your business name has the name BURRUTO in it, there is a certain level of expectation. Update: I ordered myself the burrito but I also ordered the Chili Relleno for my wife when she got home. Just tried this for the first time even though I've passed by this place many times. I ordered Togo so not sure how this compared to eating inside. Employees were mopping the floor but were kind enough to take our money to the counter for us and bring back the change. We ordered the chimichanga with carne asada but was too salty. The packaging came with toppings separated from tortilla and the tortilla was cooked perfectly for a chimichanga-crispy on outside and soft on inside. Stopped by here after working out at the 24 hour fitness next door. I wanted to be somewhat healthy so I got a taco salad. Came with a hard flour taco shell, sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce and a choice of beef or chicken. The cashier recommended chicken, so I followed her lead. Very decently priced, it was about $4.50. My friend got the express burrito which was only $5 too! The food came out immediately and there was a salsa bar to accompany the food. The burrito was very big for just $5 and was packed with beans, rice, meat, cheese and other noms. My taco salad also looked heavenly in the brightest greens sitting in the taco bowl. The taco shell tasted very doughy, I had to drink water everytime I took a bite of it. They were very generous with the chicken which was buried under the salad. The chicken didn't have as much flavour to it, so I had to dunk it with salsa. My friend gobbled up her whole burrito though and it's only in rare moments that I see her actually finish a meal, so it must have been really good! Had a carnitas burrito with the sour cream and the "guac". $6.24 The burrito was small and the tortilla too big. This means the first few bites and the last few will be tortilla dominant. Meaning, the tortilla better be fresh, or steamed, or something. This one was not. They could have probably made the burrito more tolerable if they had better "wet ingredient" distribution. But instead it was concentrated in the middle. I've had drier burritos before, but this one was close. After my first couple of bites, I literally thought.... If I ever run out of cinnamon and need to do a cinnamon challenge. This can be a good dry substance substitute. My girlfriend and I got two burritos and carne asada fries. The moment I walked in I felt the place was dirty. It was 110 degrees today and there was no working AC inside, just a fan.
