Great spot for a casual Mexican meal Stopped by El Torito and ordered the beef tacos, which were flavorful and satisfying. The beef was well-seasoned, and the tacos made for a simple but tasty meal. The restaurant has a spacious dining area, making it a comfortable place to enjoy lunch or dinner with friends and family. The service was friendly and attentive, and our food came out fairly quickly. Overall, it's a solid spot when you're craving classic Mexican comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere. I'd be happy to come back and try more items from the menu.

Excellent birthday fajitas for the hubby. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet the service was slow. I believe the reason being is that our server was also the bartender with little to no help. When other patrons arrived another gentleman, I believe the manager appeared and started assisting. The restaurant is enjoyably clean with positive ambiance.

The Sunday all-you-can eat buffet was worth it. $40 with unlimited mimosas and the food was fresh and hot, sign me up! Went with my friends and they said the mimosas were strong. So no weak drinks here! They got their money's worth. The buffet had made to order omelets and tacos, plenty of desserts including flan and fruit and ice cream, a bunch of ceviche, menudo that was constantly being put out, salad, cheese enchiladas, birria meat, beans, and rice. We went back multiple times, and I love the unlimited non alcoholic drinks such as Jamaica (fresh), Horchata (powder), hot chocolate, coffee, and sodas. We ate ourselves silly and celebrated birthdays and had a great time!

The portions on entrees are massive. It took everything I had to finish the food. I also enjoyed the Sunday brunch so that I can try a bit of everything. When they are busy, it is hard to get a hold of any of the staff. They also don't tell you everything you need to know like what to do if you want to partake in Taco Tuesday. I didn't know that it's just for a certain part of the restaurant, not everyone. Staff also didn't inform my party that Happy Hour is just at the bar, not the rest of the restaurant

We wanted to go somewhere for brunch after Palm Sunday service. Even though we hadn't eaten at El Torito for a long time, it was close. The restaurant was bustling when we got there. No parking near the restaurant, but lots in the shopping center. It took a while before the hostess showed up and the server missed us being seated. Once I told her and asked for water, she was very attentive the rest of our meal. Our mimosa glasses were constantly filled. She brought us a plate of cinnamon pancakes. The brunch buffet was an incredible array of food. We visited one table and had a couple desserts. We tried as much dishes as we could pile onto our plates. Too much food for us to eat in one visit. We will have to go back to try the other buffet options.

Came here for lunch buffet on a Monday and it was not busy at all. You can order a la carte as usual or do the buffet. Lunch buffet is $20 Mon-Fri, beverages are not included. It is mainly a taco/salad bar. Not a big selection of food. The taco bar includes freshly made tortillas and choice of chicken, beef, pork meats. You then dress it up yourself with beans, rice, chopped vegetables, and salsa. They also have chicken and vegetable soup, cheese enchiladas, melons, and 2 dessert options (flan and arroz con Leche). The food quality was pretty good overall, but salty. They bring fresh chips and salsa to your table. Clean, large restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. Service was fine, dirty plate were cleared pretty quickly. Overall, it's good value and worth a visit to get your taco fix

Came here for their Sunday Brunch. We didn't have reservations but they got us right in. Food was delicious, hot and plentiful. Our server was Angel and he was the best! The Mexican background music was great and just added to the ambiance. It was worth the drive to eat here. Don't forget to get the Sweet Corn Cake.

I love coming here for happy hour!! Great appetizer and drink deals. The sangria was a standout - definitely go for happy hour, but make sure to sit in the bar area to order off the happy hour menu! Great vibes, fantastic staff and service, nice ambiance, and good parking options!

We came here Saturday morning and had an amazing experience. The service was excellent, and our server Sandy was really nice, friendly, helpful, and had so much patience with us. She truly made the whole experience even better. This is a Mexican restaurant with a brunch buffet, and it honestly surprised me because I thought the brunch was Sundays only. I originally came just wanting pancakes, but the buffet completely exceeded my expectations. They had birria, rice, refried beans, tortillas, enchiladas, Sweet Corn Tomalito, bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes, an omelette bar, and so much more. They even had conchas, and everything tasted fresh. For drinks, they had fresh orange juice, apple juice, jicama, along with self serve hot chocolate, coffee, and water. They also had a chocolate fondue fountain with fruit, and this wasn't even Sunday brunch. The inside was very nice and welcoming. Overall, everything was great, especially the service. Sandy was amazing. If you haven't tried it yet, definitely give it a try. We'll absolutely be back.

Food was amazing and so was our server! She was super friendly and funny to talk to. Big shout to our server Ana! I would highly recommend El Torito and we are definitely coming back! P.S. they put on the France vs Ivory Coast game so that made the experience better

I always have a great experience whenever I patron this location. Stop in and see for yourself! This review is more in reference to the bar experience. I'm one of those that prefers to socialize, so often times as of late, I choose to sit at the bar with no issues whatsoever. Every bartender here is great, but Juan, in particular is exceptional. From his many years of expertise in crafting the perfect libatIon, whether it's on the menu or not, to his magnetic personality and smile, if ever you're having a bad day, come see Juan and he will fix it right up for you! He's great at reading the room and catering each patron's experience accordingly. He loves what he does, and it's clearly evident with every interaction he engages in with everyone. In addition, Juan's energy is always positive and not only is that rare, but very much welcomed especially on a consistent basis. Happy hour is every day from 3 to 9, however, I believe Juan works earlier in the day for the most part. Sit at the bar and he will make you feel right at home. And let him know that Jeanie sent you.

    Taco Salad is soooooo huuuge!

Came here recently to meet up with a co-worker. El Torito has always been a popular place amongst coworkers for businesses in the area. Apparently, their lunch time Buffet is a popular option. However, on this most recent visit, we ordered from the menu. Everything comes as very large portions, so be prepared to take home enough for maybe another meal or plan to share with someone. Service is good. Food is good with nice presentation, but nothing spectacular. I would have preferred the carne asada burrito to be a bit less spicy for it to be more palatable. I definitely prefer the more authentic hole-in-the-wall local taquerias.

Sergio is a awesome waiter He deserves 5 stars by himself, super friendly, great service making sure that you got everything you need plus the macho combo looked better and bigger in person than the actual picture. Usually, it's actually the other way around. The margaritas, and great house beer, IPA I haven't been there for quite some time, but I moved there nearby now so I have to go there much more often now i'll definitely ask Sergio if I can

No lines and no crowds on a rainy day morning with plenty of available parking spots in the huge lot. Nothing attractive on the outside in this old popular plaza. The place turned out great with the old fashioned retro red color style interior and the experience was wonderful. Good vibes and positive feelings when walking into it. My lady server provided excellent service and the Hispanic male worker was quick and efficient. Place is clean and menu had good variety of selections. Breakfast is served all day while lunch items start at 11am. My breakfast was very fulfilling and total was $25.30 with everything included. I paid in cash and tipped them $5. Loved my sweet lady server. There was another older woman at the cash register. She's a local as well. I really enjoyed the stop. I had the Fajitas Omelette breakfast and the steak meats in it were very generous. Delicious breakfast exactly as I had expected. My onions green peppers potatoes were perfect with a side of salsa. Sourdough toast was delicious with the garlic butter taste. I really came for my favorite hot chocolate with whipped cream in the morning. I do miss big American breakfasts, especially in these old fashioned and traditional retro spots. Love it. Why didn't I visit this place much earlier? Because they're always busy or full inside and the plaza parking is usually congested with heavy traffic here. Overall, I love the vibes and the service. We moved to Milpitas about a year ago and my son started going to Mil's and is a current 'Regular'. They have good food. So after a while, my husband and I started going there and we too started going there pretty regularly for breakfast, at least once or twice a week. All in all, between the family we drop a few hundred a week. And we do tip well. Most of the wait staff knows us. Today, my husband had to stop on his way home to use the restroom. He doesn't look homeless or unkempt in anyway. When he asked, they told him he couldn't unless he's a 'paying customer'. This was to a newer employee he hadnt seen before. He proceeded to explain that we eat here regularly and she still said no. He asked to speak to the manager, who does know him. He too said no. I find it ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that for a supposed family atmosphere restaurant, they couldn't extend a small courtesy. What exactly was it going to take away from them? As mentioned, we drop a good chunk of change there, and they didnt want to help out a patron that frequents the restaurant? Well, have no fear, we will NEVER darken your doorstep EVER again.

It started with the barbacoa chilaquiles. When I saw that that the chilaquiles in the menu had habaneros on it, I knew I had found my place. I often cook at home with ghost and scorpion peppers, which are not traditionally found in restaurants, but they've done some pretty amazing improvisation when I've asked to make it work. One time, I recall getting the chilaquiles and asking for extra habaneros and asking if their chef had a secret hot sauce that was stronger than "white people spicy." Miriam brought me a little ramekin of a pepper sauce puree that the chef prepared - and it was EPIC. I don't ask for that every time, but you know whoever was on the line took the request seriously and actually had some fun making my mouth burn. I can't tell you how appreciative I am of their willingness to "play" in the kitchen. Today, I went for breakfast and ordered the Carne En Su Jugo for my first time. Not just here - first time ever eating it anywhere. I had totally forgotten to ask them to make it spicy! I asked Miriam if there was anything they could do to spice it up. She assured me they could. Then I received it. And I tasted it. And it was cathartic. The chefs prepared a PERFECTLY spicy stew, and I downed that whole thing in 7 minutes. It was delicious, put some sweat on my brow, and left me feeling more than satisfied with my meal. I love this place! Miriam is always great every time I've been there. I will continue supporting this business as long as they keep doing business. Please give my compliments to the chefs again. Their creativity keeps me coming back for spicy treats!

The burritos had this soft white cheese melted on top which gave the tortilla this vanilla sweetness. I didn't really like that. The steak meat was sweet but didn't have that bulgogi marinade taste. Both of our burritos tasted like a plain egg, potato, and blank steak breakfast burrito. It was nothing special but the size is huge and one can be shared by two people. The burritos came with this sweet chipotle sauce with some sweet peppers in which it did add some flavor. Kenny is the man though! He's super nice and proud. He's very entertaining and enjoys talking to his guests. His son is in the army so it's one of the reasons why he's very patriotic. Is it a bit much?! Sure, but this cafe wouldn't be what it is without all of this randomness. It's a neighborhood gem and a historic landmark in this side of town. Kenny is well known to the area and is beloved. We enjoyed his company. Thank you so much Kenny!!

My country fried steak was perfectly cooked & flavored and the gravy was exactly right. The hash browns were top notch, grilled crunchy outside & not at all greasy or oily. The wheat toast was exactly as simple as it should be & delicious with butter & strawberry jam. My scrambled eggs left a little to be desired but there's hot sauce on the table to fix that right up. My lunch neighbor had the Ulitmate Fried Chicken Sandwich (pic) and he likes it so much gets it every time he eats here. And the coffee? The coffee comes from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. The plates in my pics look small but in fact are large plates & might be too much food for some people. The food & service is great but the prices are a bit stiff for lunchtime however the comfort food would be right at home in any Memphis diner.

The eggs and hash brown's were too oily and needed salt, the sauce on the crab benny was grainy. The dishes completely missed the mark, they were below average for sure. At their price point, this is a place I would go for a treat not just an everyday basic meal. The coffee was good, service was nice, food came out fairly quickly and the restaurant is beautiful and spacious.

Beautiful, flaky, sweet and savory; there are so many delicious options. Gourmet pastries with gourmet coffee equals perfection. Best way to start the morning. I love that. You can actually see them fresh baking pastries while you're sitting. We didn't go overly sweet because it was the morning, but I would love to come back in the afternoon to have a nice sweet treat and a cappuccino. For my family of three we definitely got over excited in order too much, but each bite was delicious. We got a leek quiche, a banana latte, spinach, artichoke danish, mango croissant, almond croissant, and a ham and cheese croissant. I was trying to increase the protein to not spike my blood sugar. Lol. I'd have to say the mango and the almond croissant were probably my favorite. The strong second would definitely be the artichoke and spinach croissant danish thing. Sorry, I forgot what they called it. They offered to heat it up a bit and I definitely recommend this. They did the perfect temperature for the perfect timing. Just enough to make the outside flaky and the inside warm and soft. The pieces that had cheeses were so much better warmed up. They definitely know what they're doing there. Seating was great. I'd love the decor. You can also order off of a menu, but we were too enamored with the actual pastries to even glance at it. I took photos but made sure to not take photos of the staff. I let the staff know that I wouldn't include their faces without their permission. they were very friendly and very appreciative. My family loved your little shop and we will definitely be back when we're in the area.

I love having breakfast at Bill's Cafe. Unfortunately, this location is not the same experience as the two other locations I've tried. The hostess told us they had no tables, and we could sit at the bar. My daughter stated she would rather be seated at a table, and we could wait. Three customers were walking past us, and the hostess said we could have their table. We were immediately seated in a booth, and we noticed there were at least five empty tables around us, peculiar. Whatever, we had time to look and decide what we each wanted. When our waiter came for our orders, he was quick and efficient. We didn't have to wait long for our meals and drinks to arrive. We generally liked our food, but the country potatoes were a little too firm, and seemed like they weren't cooked all the way through. We had to wait awhile for refills on our drinks. We caught the hostess walking by, and asked if we could get refills and napkins. She said okay, but brought only napkins, and we waited some more for refills on coffee and water. The hostess seemed a bit brusque, on the other hand our waiter was, quick and professional. I will drive a little further to the Alameda location, because the Newbury location is not as great, or team conscious as the other location.
