Was invited with co-workers for lunch. They were extremely busy and under-staffed. We were sat in the banquet room with no place setting, no menus, no condiments. Food took way too long to get to us. Soda's were flat, chicken was not fully cooked (pink in appearance). The waitress was rude and dismissive about the chicken, she never offered to take it back or take it off my ticket. I went there once in the morning because the bf wanted a breakfast burrito & we had just moved into town. silly me, I did not yelp this location but googled it. I have been going here for several years and it has always been great until last night. The food was awful, we had to ask for silverware and condiments, service was slow and considering we were the only ones in the restaurant it took almost an hour for us to get our food. The margaritas were weak and when we complained the staff did nothing about it. We were charged $7 for a shot of Cuervo which we added to the margaritas!! We spoke to the owner's daughter on the phone and she comped the margaritas. The barmaid then told us she would have to run the bill again as she wasn't comping them!! When we refused to give her the card to rerun it she told us we were never allowed to come back. We stated we would not be back at which point she called us trailer trash and good riddance! One of my go to spots. Best magaritas in town by far. The rice and beans are to die for, everytime. The main entrees can be bland sometimes which is why im not giving it 5 stars. Wish they played music in the background it can be a little awkwardly quiet at times. read more

I have been here many times over the past 6 years. In fact almost a regular now. About once a week. The customer service is always friendly and inviting. Lots of selection on the menu and specials every day of the week. I like to get the Chille Rellenos and have them add carne asada to it. It has lots of cheese and great flavor. I also like the carne asada buritto when I need something good and cheap. They also give you chips and salsa with all the meals for free. I have never had a meal at this place that wasn't good. Burrito King is a place all Madera natives end up eventually. It's certainly not the best food in the area but the menu selection is likely to have something for everyone. I've never had a problem with the service and I've certainly never gotten sick. The food could have more pizazz, but the price certainly isn't bad. read more

Basically a middle of the road sit down Mexican restaurant, nothing really fancy or outstanding. Service has been satisfactory on most of the occasions I have visited. Being open later and right across from a hotel I stay at, it remains in my rotation mostly for convenience. read more

I had a really good experience here good food chips and salsa was great and the chips are fresh so is the salsa my daughter enjoyed her food she ordered the fish whole and I ordered the popusas it was great very clean inside love the ambience of the place food was fast and waitresses were very helpful good job! My only prob was I would of rather some real chicharron in my popusa but since I can't find a lot of places that make them they did do a great job trying there best to make it I think it was with pork but it was good and I love cheese so I'm happy . read more

Went to a wedding and when we got the tab, they charged for one the rocks and for ice! Cranberry and vodka was charged by vodka, plus cranberry juice , and plus ice. Don't understand why they charge for on the rocks. So be prepared to get charged a dollar for every procedure it takes to prepare your drink. And after nine there prices on a Saturday night go up supposedly. Why can't they just charge by the drink like every other restaurant and bar. read more

I have eaten at Burrito King one time, I am a home body so I normally get it to go. The one time I have eaten there though was good, service was decent, food great! Whenever I get my chili relleno burrito to go, it is great. I only gave it a four because one time my relleno was dry, they forgot to put caldo on it. I would have to say BK beats any other burrito spot I have been to. And I would say I have been to a lot. read more

My friends and I enjoy having a margarita and appetizers at the bar. Always seem to meet friendly people there. Had dinner in the bar a few times. Service was a little slow, but the food was excellent! The place was clean to me so not sure why someone would say it was dirty. They have beautifully tiled floors in the bar area and the bathrooms. Very clean!! Maybe the dining area was not up to par? Try the bar then, you will enjoy going there. read more

Stopped by on the way from LA to Yosemite. I was a little cautious because of how the restaurant looked from the outside, but the inside has a nice atmosphere. Food is good. If it's not right, they make a great effort to fix it promptly. We get in and out of there within our lunch hour and go almost every Friday. The owners and staff are always nice (it's a family run business). We even threw a concert/show in their back banquet room and they did everything they could to make everyone comfortable and have great service, brought chips and salsa out for the people who attended. I really don't get what the complaining is about. I go there at least once a week, am treated well, and the food tastes great and consistent. read more

Not highly regarded within the pueblo of Madera, this restaurant has gone downhill badly since its move to the former "The Village" (Chinese restaurant). Some of my colleagues and I went to lunch during a meeting break and two of the diners came away with minor food poisoning. The service is very slow and the servers have little in the way of mature server skills. We came from out of town for a high school football game and needed 50 burritos delivered to the high school after the game for our team. i went when this place had just opened up.. the service was always fine when I'd been there and the food was pretty good, items i remember having were their combos with tacos or an enchilada and their guacamole.. apparently its really gone down hill but i still think its probably the best bet for the area for a sit down spot. read more

I ordered chicken sopes with rice and beans they gave me some kind of red meat so I let them know after like 10 minutes of waiting for someone to come help us. They fixed it but then didn't give me my rice and beans they gave me 2 soggy sopes with no silverware. How am I to eat without silverware? Went here on Friday after Thanksgiving on our way out of the Valley (yay!). It was DELICIOUS!!! If Madera weren't in Madera, I'd want to go back every week! Being a holiday, it was pretty empty, but the service was great and the food was really great. It was SUPER cheap too, so I'm not really sure why it's rated $$. Because pretty much every entree was under $8.... The salsa was spicy without being overwhelming. I understand it recently re-opened so maybe that's why some of the reviews are so negative. Ordered the the Kings breafast, they took an hour to serve us, eggs burnt, hashbrown was taken straight from a package of grocery store sold frozen patties , ham was a half cut slice of Oscar Mayers processed bolony type ham , Ridiculous! !! I've been going to this establishment for years and have enjoyed the experince and the food, but tonight, must be a new cook. First of all if you go on a Saturday evening call ahead, they rent the back room for parties. The music was to loud for comfort, one couple complained it was turn down only to be turned up again. I stopped in Madera for lunch and decided that this place looked promising. I ordered one of their lunch specials with an enchilada and a chile relleno. The enchilada was OK (ground beef, tortilla, OK red sauce and cheese), but the relleno was wet and soggy! Evidently it had been frozen, and, rather than deep-frying it (or even giving it a couple of minutes in a frying pan), they just dumped it on the plate and nuked it. I peeled off the batter, and the chile and cheese were OK ... but really!! The chips and salsa were good, the beans and rice were OK, and the service was prompt and cordial, so it's a pity that the food isn't better. read more

Food quality is average, could definitely find better Mexican food in Madera for the same price. Good place for a group dinner. The bar is full service and includes a dance floor with karaoke. As far as night life in Madera one could do much, much worse. read more

The food was alright. I got a burrito that came with lettuce and a piece of lemon. The lettuce was old and ugly, and the lemon was very old. It looked all brown on the inside. But the burrito was ok. read more
