(2) tacos - pastor and asada.

A quick review for a quick bite. What was once the hot spot - Burrito King ( made famous by LA Times food critic Jonathan Gold),the shine is gone but the food was decent. No prices on the menu! And the prices shown on Yelp are not correct. These tacos were &3.50 each, and a supreme burrito was about $10. Very reasonable. A good place to check your list if you still have any hankering to check out the spots in Golds book - Counter Intelligence.

They got my whole order wrong. I ordered a carne asada burrito with beans cheese only and two hard shell tacos with no lettuce and no onions and this what I got instead. Onions on everything and no beans or cheese in my burrito and they even put onions in my burrito

Rotten Shrimp Supreme Burrito

Disgusting. If you find yourself thinking about ordering their supreme shrimp burrito, DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!! They allow their shrimp to sit and rot until they cook it then add all the ingredients onto the burrito shell before wraping it and giving to you to eat. I order on doordash and i will never do that again. THE FOOD QUALITY IS NON EXISTENT!

I always thought the food here was great, until yesterday... I ordered nachos and first thing noticed everything was cold, like it had been refrigerated after being made. The beans were cold, cheese wasn't even melted. It was really unappetizing so I just started to eat the guacamole when I chewed on something hard. I thought it was maybe the stem of avocado? Or at worst a chicken bone? I spit it out and clean it off to find a piece of rubber/hard plastic had broken off of something and into my food. I've never had anything like this happen to me anywhere, it's tainted my view of this place now. I can't never go back because of this.

It's okay especially if it's 2 am and you are over Del Taco. Other then that it's not really to my standards. No restrooms no sit down restaurant to lounge and eat. It is just a window and a weird looking kitchen. Now if you are sober DO NOT BOTHER! If you are trashed and you are done painting the town red then this is for you. For LA this is an embarrassing Cali Mex of a hole. Over all nothing was per say flavorful or juicy from the carne asada. It is just an over all "meh to okay" wet burrito. Again if it's passed the witching hour and you are desperate to just get grub then this is okay. Otherwise with all the choices around this is by far the only that will take a card. So that is why I ended up eating at this location, because they do take cards. Customer Service? Who cares! It's 2 am I just want a burrito extra wet please! Now if you are paying attention and it is passed the witching hour and you have cash, go across the street to the "Lonchera" now they have really authentic delicious tacos . So over all my rating is okay to meh. Conclusion, Nothing of my wet burrito was great except it was a burrito as big as my torso and I did't get sick. So take that into consideration.

I've given this location 3 chances and it has failed me twice. First chance: I ordered the California Burrito and it was the best tasting burrito I've had in awhile. Maybe because I was hungry or maybe it was the combination of carne asada, sour cream and fries wrapped in a tortilla. Whatever it was it was delicious the first time I had it. Pair it with a Jarrito Tamarindo and your cravings will be satisfied. Second chance: ordered the California Burrito again after a Dodger game one evening and it was the worst decision I could've done. It resulted in food poisoning. I'm not sure what it could've been considering I didn't have anything to eat at the game. Maybe the meat wasn't cooked properly? Maybe the sour cream was going bad? Maybe the fries were undercooked? I'm not sure but it wasn't pretty. Third chance: stopped by last night after work to order my "usual" the California Burrito only to be disappointed. The meat was mostly fat (look at picture) and I couldn't enjoy the burrito at all. Every other bite I was spitting out a piece of unchewable fat. I ended up unwrapping the burrito and taking all the carne asada out. Ate the fries and tortilla. I don't think I'll be coming back to this spot. It can be a hit or miss - I've had 2 misses. I'm done with this place.

Great old fashioned 1960s style L.A. Mexican food that really hits the spot. I love that it's just a stand with stools, I love the extra cheesy burrito, I love the fresh Pico de Gallo. Vintage perfection.

Old school since 1963. The last time I ate here was in 1984 and I can't remember what I ordered back then LOL. This time around I ordered a Bean & Cheese burrito with onions and the hottest salsa available. There's no place to eat here so we took it to go. The chubby burrito was very good especially when I added the hot salsa.

I am so happy I finally got to try Dama! I absolutely love Antonia LaFasso so I've been dying to…read moretry one of her restaurants. Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Stopping for a bite on our was the the Greek for a show, my bestie and I had dinner and cocktail here in Los Feliz. Our hostess and bartender made the most delicious and fresh mango margaritas. At the recommendation of another reviewer we had Potato taquitos. Amazing. Sweet corn and a variety of the worldly flavored taco proteins. Outdoor with heaters and indoor. In a lovely walkable neighborhood. You can walk up to the Greek or Uber 10 minutes up the hill. Super friendly staff. Variety of patrons: girls having a meetup, families, coworkers, friends of all ages. We felt so comfortable and it was money well spent. One complaint: do something about your bathrooms. Great experiences don't end with gross bathrooms.

I swear it does not feel like you're eating Mexican food. Further, service sucks. I have tried calling so many times to inquire about things and they never answer. I have had to walk over to get answers to my questions and I'm usually met with attitude. Bummer because I really wanted this place to be a Los Feliz gem and it's just not.

Hollenbeck was good but I definitely enjoyed the Okie burrito more, I ordered the "original" size once and didn't seem to learn my lesson the second time, these burritos can feed two in Original size. They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.
