This is some solid chilaquiles and the portions are insane. My dad and I stopped by and surprisingly we were the only customers around 8am. We ordered the divorciados with everything on it, fried eggs, and al pastor, I think totaling around $20. The red sauce was my personal favorite as the green was a little too spicy too early in the morning for me, but my dad preferred the spicy green sauce! the chips are fried fresh and crispy, the eggs are perfectly cooked, the al pastor is juicy and meaty, and I LOVE all the toppings. They put so much cheese and goodies and I love how the guacamole is self serve. Take that Chipotle!
They have a Tuesday Chilaquiles special that I wasn't aware about until I browsed their social media pages while waiting for a burrito. Looked around the LA location and wish they would open an actual brick and mortar spot. It was a hot 90 degrees when I ordered and tried to wait near the shade. They had a steady flow of customers and several cooks. Did not wait too long for my order. Size was excellent. Could easily feed two people. Thought it was a fair $14 but wasnt a fan of their carne asada. Also the hash browns used in the breakfast burrito was among the worst I have ever tasted. Thought it was burnt rice. If I return it will be to try their chilaquiles special on a Tuesday.
What a plate and vibe. This is definitely a 2-person job as the fried tortilla chips don't hold well overnight. I do wish there was a little more carne asada but overall, salsa verde was spot on, the cheese crumbles, the overeasy eggs. I don't think I've had chilaquiles properly before this.
Right off rip the girl taking orders had a Lottie attitude and she asks what do you want and I was um ok I'd like the chilaquiles burrito and I said it twice with the whole carnitas no buche! I get my order and realized the carnitas were stale and dry and there was no cheese and sour cream and beans and I told them I ordered a burrito I always pay $15 what's this extra meat charge ? And the girl had a smug look. It's smells like poop where their pop up is so brace yourself and it's real dirty. I doubt I'll go back cause they gave bad food and service over charge and got my order completely wrong. Called the owner and he ignores and blocks you
First time trying chilaquiles. I got the plate with asada. Saw on the sign that salsa verde was the spiciest sauce option so I played safe and got salsa roja instead. I should've just gotten salsa verde and taken some extra hot sauce for to-go because I did not taste any heat. Not a big fan of soggy tortilla chips so I don't think chilaquiles is my kind of food. Happy to have tried a new Mexican dish.
I am so happy I finally got to try this famous chilaquiles stand! Chilaquiles are my favorite breakfast food, and these are as authentic as you'll ever get. You get an absolutely MASSIVE portion - this lasted me 3 meals! Thankfully we got there before the line got super long, so we probably only waited 10-15 minutes tops. There is plenty of parking, but this does get very popular, so the wait times could vary. Let me say, the gentleman doing the carnitas put in WORK! I definitely want to try it with carnitas next time. The only reason they didn't get a 5 star is the guy working the trompo stepped away for a minute and we saw another gentleman swoop in and few minutes later saying? Never leave the trompo alone... and for good reason, my friend also got al pastor and both of our carnes were definitely a little black/crispy. BUT it was still really really good. I will say with the divorciado option, I barely could taste the green version, there was basically just a corner of the green sauce. But both versions were great!
Health Hazard! Along the sidewalk where the street vendor is stationed, you'll find dead rats, old smelly rotten water, and trash. I visited this place after seeing them online. Based on the hours they posted on their social media, which were 8 am to 3 pm, I arrived at 2 pm, expecting to try their chilaquiles. However, they refused to help me because they were closing up. I showed them the hours they had posted on their account, but they insisted that was incorrect. The lady in charge refused to serve us, claiming they had run out of food. But her employees were telling a different story; the cook said they had plenty of food. She turned away at least seven other people while we were there. This place is not worth the drive or the cost!
Location and Vibe Don Chilaquiles is a street vendor that's been a go to spot for us for a couple of years now. They're set up right on the corner of Vermont and 6th, literally at the intersection. What makes it extra convenient is the big parking lot behind them, so even when the line gets long, parking is never really an issue. You can park quick, grab your food, and be on your way. Best Time to Go We usually come on Sundays, when it's typically busy, but timing really matters. This last time we went around 11 a.m., and there were only two people in front of me, which was honestly surprising. So if you go earlier, you might luck out and avoid the long wait. Prices and Portions The prices are super reasonable. I posted pictures of the menu, but you can get items starting around $3. We usually order the chilaquiles plate, which is $16, and honestly? It's worth every dollar. The portion is huge. My sister always splits it with her boyfriend, and I usually end up taking half (or more) home. One plate can easily feed two people. Food Quality The portions are generous across the board. They give a decent amount of meat, plenty of salsa, and everything tastes fresh and satisfying. They offer three different salsas red, green, and mole and the mole is especially good. You can also grab extra salsa on the side, along with onions, cilantro, and radishes. Little Details That Matter One thing I really love is that the onions and cilantro are separated, not mixed together. I feel like 90% of taco trucks mix them automatically, so this is a small detail that makes a big difference. Drinks They only offer about two aguas frescas, but there's usually a lady selling drinks on the side if you want more options. You can grab sodas and other drinks there too, so you're covered. Wait Time If there's a line, expect a bit of a wait but when it's not crowded, the service is pretty quick. Either way, the food makes it worth it.

When I picked up the box it had some weight to it. You for sure get what you pay for and as you can see they don't skip out on the protein. The chorizo was smokey not overly salty. Green sauce wasn't spicy for us, but they do have complimentary sauces (including guac!). For two people this filled us, we could barely finish it. Very flavorful and a good deal. If you are craving chilaquiles put this pop up on your list ASAP.
Sidewalk Stand: Very good quality fresh meats & ingredients. Fresh and clean self-serve salsa bar: excellent guacamole, pickled onions, cilantro/onion, limes, radish, red & green hot sauce. Order taker guy, super chill, polite and friendly. Very busy stand w lots of people waiting for delicious food at excellent prices. Bonus: big free parking lot to eat your goodies in the car! They have 2 flavors agua fresca available. Fyi: Next door has an agua fresca stand w their lady giving free samples to don chilaquiles customers. I got Verde Asada Chilequiles: meat excellent, tender, moist, nicely browned w a good char flavor. Not all grisly and fatty like other places. Comes w Eggs I got over-medium, not like too runny. Topped w guacamole, radish, cilantro/onion, red chile hot sauce from bar. Loved it, I'm usually very picky, but whole experience was wonderful.
This review is for the La Puente location. It's located on the sidewalk Sunset and Amar In front of the abandoned CVS. *warning there's no parking since it's on a busy street. I had to park in the residential area and be sure not to park on Thursday's 9am-1pm due to street parking I came here on a Tuesday and social media was posting chilaquiles were $10! Chilaquiles were made fresh to order! A plus for being close to home And service was good. They do take cash and card!
I ordered the green chilaquiles with asada at Don Chilaquiles. The chilaquiles themselves were very flavorful--great sauce, well-balanced, and definitely the highlight of the dish. The asada, however, was a bit overcooked and could have been more tender. Overall, a tasty plate, especially if you're going for the chilaquiles. Good service.

Don Chilaquiles was so good! The portions are HUGE. They loaded up the box, and I swear mine felt like it weighed 5 pounds My boyfriend and I definitely could have shared one order, but I got the green and he got the red. I absolutely loved the green sauce! It had the perfect amount of spice for me. My boyfriend said it would have been too spicy for him, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to heat. They also gave us a good amount of meat, which I really appreciated. Honestly, no notes on the food, the portions and flavor were both great! My only gripe is the location. I know it's a street stand, so there's only so much they can control, but the parking lot has a pretty horrible smell. Since there isn't really seating, we were planning to eat on the trunk of our car, but the smell was so bad that we ended up eating inside the car instead. Not their fault, but definitely something to consider. Overall, though, the food was absolutely worth it! read more

Arrives to LA early morning had to stop at 7am to grab these delicious chilaquiles! They are so good ! Not only do they look good in the picture but they where perfect in taste the crunch flavor it's all their! Their sauces all so good especially the guacamole ! Recommend they have different choice of meat. And of course being a gastric sleeve girly this plate was shared ! great sourc of proteins and carbs their meat was not oily either. Service was great and attentive. They do accept card. Ambiance is calm lots of people in the morning but they work preety quick. read more
came with my friends after seeing it all over social media. can't say i'm surprised there was a very long line despite it being a holiday but that's a sign that it's so good and loved by many. i ordered the torta de chilaquiles with the green salsa. first off, it's really big so you definitely get your moneys worth. my spice tolerance is so bad so once i took the first bite i instantly felt it but i love green salsa so i will keep eating it of course. my friend did get the red salsa and let me try it, it wasn't spicy at all and there was barely any flavor so i will definitely continue to get green salsa. i was so satisfied with what i ordered because there was so much flavor! read more

No, no, no. Dont go. Save yourself the trip. Over hyped. We got a chilaquiles plate with red sauce and 2 fried eggs. The red sauce is terrible - it's basically an enchilada sauce NOT a chilaquiles sauce. I couldn't eat it because it left as bad taste in my mouth. The fried eggs were good and the crunchiness of the chips was good. But the sauce ruined it for me. Anyone who says this place is good doesn't know how chilaquiles are supposed to taste. It traditionally has a TOMATO based sauce and what they are using tastes like chipotle. The sidewalk location and watching them handle food is a health violation waiting to happen! Went to try this because I wanted chilaquiles so bad this morning! Gave it a shot and tbh I thought it was really good, I do think the red sauce could be more flavor full but the meat was good the green sauce was fire and the eggs were cooked perfectly. We went to the pop up one in Long Beach. It wasn't to packed and didn't take to long. I would go back! read more
This place is absolutely delicious. The chilaquiles are cooked to order and they give you a huge portion. They use quality meats and it's loaded with meats. I also got a quesadilla which was delicious as well. Sometimes the weight can be long but it's totally worth it. 10 out of 10 just have to look for the pop ups read more
This place is so gas! Decently priced at $15 a plate for chilaquiles it's well worth it! The red kind is what I tried and you can easily feed two people with one plate! They made the eggs perfectly and topped it with queso n regular shredded cheese! The plate/container was lined with beans which added a nice flavor to everything! came on a sunday right when they opened and there were already a few other people in line. the man taking our order was really kind and we got our food about 10-15 mins after ordering. it's cool being able to see the whole process of them cutting up and frying the chips to slicing the meats and adding all the sauces and toppings. chilaquiles divorciados (4/5) - i got these with pastor and it was a little too fatty for my liking. the portion was very generous for $17 and we got it with rice as well. the green salsa was pretty spicy but both had really good flavor. i'd definitely try it with the red salsa only next time though. i'd also try to see if they could add the beans on the side next time since they were super watery and made everything get soggy pretty quickly. i definitely want to comeback to try the burrito chilaquiles!! read more

Don Chilaquiles might be a food stand, but these are hands down the best chilaquiles I've had in a while. The portion is perfect, the flavors are spot on, and the staff is super friendly with quick service. As a true chilaquiles pro, I'm obsessed. This spot is officially my new favorite! read more

I'm absolutely obsessed with Don Chilaquiles! I fell in love with chilaquiles during a trip to Mexico last year, and after a friend's recommendation, I had to stop by -- and WOW, these are next-level. Honestly, they're even better than the ones I had in Mexico! The vibe here is awesome -- the employees are super friendly, and even when the line gets long on weekends (because yes, everyone knows how good it is), they move crazy fast. And trust me, the food is so worth it. My go-to is the green chilaquiles with steak -- they say it's super spicy, but I think it's just the right amount of kick, and the flavor combo is out of this world. I keep telling myself I'm going to try a burrito or torta one day... but my usual order is just too perfect to pass up! If I had one tiny complaint, it's that they close in the early afternoon -- I wish I could have Don Chilaquiles for dinner too! If I had to create a day of perfect meals, this would definitely be featured. read more

Depending on when you get here, there can be a wait time. The first time I went with my husband, we waited 20 mins before ordering. But the recent visit was only a couple minutes wait, close to closing. Please know that if you arrive towards closing, they will run out of 1-2 sauces and meats. I would recommend coming earlier so you can get everything you want. The chilaquiles are soooo good. Be aware that their green sauce is spicer than their red sauce. We've had their asada, pastor, carnitas, and chorizo. Everything was good, delicious. the food was flavorful and you get a good amount of food to fill you up. Try them out! I've got some friends hooked on them too. PS...their parking is small and can stink. read more

This is an outside stand with plenty of parking throughout. We went on a Sunday around 1 PM and the line was long - as we expected. It took about 30 minutes from the time we arrived to get our order which wasn't too bad since everything is made to order. The service is basic. Nothing special. They are busy doing their best to get the orders out and that's seems to be the only focus. The offer a variety of things from mulitas, tacos, chilaquiles, tortas etc. and a variety of meats. We ordered the green sauce chilaquiles with Al pastor and carnitas no eggs. The green sauce is a little spicy but perfect. The Al pastor, which they make on the topo was good just lacked a little flavor. The chilaquiles were nicely evenly coated in sauce and queens and topped with queso fresco. Flavorful, fresh and HUGE portion for only $16. 2 maybe even 3 people can eat from one plate. We also ordered the carnitas and cuerito burrito which came with rice and beans inside cheese extra. I loved their carnitas! So tender and flavorful and perfect with their green sauce. The burrito was $12 and it was the size of my head! It was so big I couldn't hold it to eat it so had to use a fork lol Nothing special about the ambiance. It's a stand on a corner with lots of people. I definitely recommend trying this place out. Great Mexican Breakfast street food in LA! I heard the lines here tend to get long, but I came early on a Sunday morning around 9:45am and there was barely a line so I got my food pretty quickly! My friend and I shared a Chilaquiles plate with red and green sauce, asada, and over easy eggs. Everything was delicious!! I loved the dish, it was super flavorful, rich, and tasty. The red sauce was good, but I preferred the green sauce more. The eggs and steak were cooked well and everything was combined together well with the cheese. I also loved pouring some of the avocado salsa on the chips, it was refreshing and tasty. There's a parking lot behind the food stand, so there's ample parking usually. Also, this food stall is cash only. Overall, a good experience here but the dish can get pretty pricy. Our total for the chilaquiles was about $16.50, but you do get a lot of food. read more

Don Chilaquiles is a must try if you love authentic and flavorful food. The line is always long but it moves fast. I waited about twenty minutes total which was not bad at all. The guy at the front was super nice and when I told him it was my first time he recommended doing half red and half green sauce with half asada and half al pastor. It was an excellent call. The chilaquiles were phenomenal. The egg on top was cooked perfectly sunny side up and the yolk blended beautifully with the Mexican cheese. I asked for no beans and everything came out exactly how I wanted. The balance of flavors was perfect, and the portion was generous. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly from start to finish. Don Chilaquiles absolutely lives up to the hype and I would go back in a heartbeat. read more
