I had really SLOW service when I went to pick up a burrito for a friend. I figured I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and went back a week later with my husband and 2 kids. We were there half an hour after ordering and still hadn't received our food. The table that walked in a few minutes prior to us was finishing. A table that ordered the same time as us received their food and was half done. Then a couple came in, ordered, was served, had their order corrected, and we still hadn't received our food. That Salsa though! Since moving from the LA area, I have found it difficult to find good authentic Mexican food here on the Central Coast. I am lucky though, because Burrito Loco has some pretty good tacos and salsa. The food here holds me over until I can get back into LA for the tasty Mexican food I have grown accustomed to. Taco Tuesday is fun and they have a good selection of tacos to choose from. I have ordered burritos from here and personally they aren't as good as the tacos which I find interesting given the name. At any rate, whether you make an order to go or you sit inside the food is pretty solid. I don't know what they do with the salsa, (generous amount of salt and garlic. . . maybe) but it is delicious. In fact they sell it to take home... Grab yourself a bag of Taco Works from Vons or Costco, get some salsa Burrito Loco and enjoy yourself. You will be glad you did. The salsa is amazing - the food just OK. The greatest downfalls to this restaurant are that the customer service is absolutely TERRIBLE, the food portions are inconsistent (amount of meat and such in burritos) and it takes a looooong time for food to be prepared/served. I have never sat down for a meal here to be honest. I only ever go in to purchase their DELICIOUS (award-winning) salsa and a bag of chips. It is cheap and comes in a huge 12oz container. Perfect for taking to parties or to work. I love it, and my husband does too. The restaurant atmosphere isn't the best though, which is why I would never dine-in. It kind of smells sweaty. This place has one of the best burrito adobados I have ever had, and I have had a lot. This burrito with their salsa is amazing, and worth the 1 hour I drive for it every couple weeks. TERRIBLE EMPLOYEES. FOOD SUCKS. Im staying across the street at the Motel 6 and my mother and I ordered here to-go and we ordered something pretty simple. 2 burritos (one with no sour cream) with 2 large sodas. No big deal. When we got it back we found out they had put double portions of sour cream in one burrito and the other got one. NOT what we ordered. When we called to let them know their error they wanted to charge us for delivery to fix it even though were across the street. Completely confused as to how Shelly D. said that she was there tonight and had wonderful service. I was a very unhappy customer there tonight and I believe Shelly was referring to me as the "rude customer". My best friend & I were craving Burrito Loco tonight as we do often, so we went! We only had about an hour to eat when we arrived. It ended up being a much longer hour trip. We get there, there's one waitress in her 30's and says hi, we sit down.. another younger waitress comes out 10 min later to get our water. She looked irritated, no smile, no hello, just "what to drink?". Which was fine. I was more bothered that it took awhile because I was soooo thirsty haha. There were only 2 tables at the time, so I thought it was odd that it took 10 min for her to get us water. Especially since there were TWO waitresses. I didn't think it was busy at alllll.. We said thank you & continued to look at the menu. Almost TWENTY MINUTES later after we both needed refills on our drinks, chips/salsa and we've BEEN ready to order. Neither waitress checked on us. Younger waitress finally came to get refills but still didn't take our order so before she started walking away, I told her that we were ready to order whenever she was. Food came quick, looked great, nice and hot, etc.I took a bite and unfortunately didn't like the chicken.. which was totally fine with me because I was able to order another meat for my next taco (All you can eat tacos) & my friend was done with her food (took her about 15min) the waitress still never came to check on my food. By that time, I still haven't had more than ONE bite out of my taco. So once I saw the younger waitress finish with a table next to us, I asked her if I could get my next order of tacos but with Carnitas because I didn't really like the chicken. She said yes and said she'll put an order in. Once we checked the time, we realized it took WAY longer than usual. Once I saw her again about 5 min later, I asked her if I could take them to go since we needed to leave & I still never got to eat. She told me no since it's "all you can eat tacos" which I understood but was still irritated because I felt that it wasn't my fault. If she would've checked on us as quick as any other restaurant, I would've been totally fine with staying and eating there so I just said never mind. I just didn't think it should've been so complicated. She said sorry that she didn't check on us, but that she was in the bathroom THROWING UP because her stomach wasn't feeling good. SHE DEALT WITH OUR FOOD AND DRINKS?!?!!?!?!!! So I told her that she should probably go home and not handle food. She then made a rude face and said "what the heck, I didn't even touch your food". I was just so in shock, Me and my friend both looked at each other so puzzled. She had the other older waitress come, I tried to so nicely explain to her what happened. The tacos, the long waiting, the puking waitress.. she was very nice at first, left to talk to her coworker.. came back, thinking that I'd get some type of "oh I'm so sorry" but no. She literally had an attitude the whole time after she came back from talking to the younger waitress. The older waitress in her 30s then told me that the younger waitress never said she threw up and told me "her stomach has been hurting & she was feeling dizzy sooooo I don't know why you're saying she threw up. She never threw up". I was so fed up that I just said never mind and asked if we could just get my friends check. And maybe to tell the younger waitress to not tell customers that she threw up then because it makes us guests grossed out.... Telling her that did ZERO JUSTICE. The older waitress must've got upset by my remark and says, while walking away from my table so the whole damn restaurant can hear, in a smart ass tone - "Perfect, one check...... annnnd you're not eating (as she looked at me, smiling) then started walking away and said loudly "next time there's no need for your attitude" omg I was so pissed off by then being that I literally did NOT once have a rude attitude, tone, any of the above. I responded back and told her that THEY WERE THE ONES WITH ATTITUDE THE WHOLE TIME!! My friend paid, we left and we will never look back. So Shelly D. Not sure if you'd like to re post a review now that you have two sides to the one story you commented on. But the floor is yours Worst service ever. At least by those two waitresses. Pretty good but the Buritto Loco on Halycon Road in Arroyo Grande is much better by far.Their Chili Rellenos have more cheese on the Relleno as well as more cheese in the red sauce. A nice touch is the orange slice and a bit of shredded lettuce on your plate that you do NOT get in Lompoc. My friend and I drive all the way from Lompoc to Arroyo Grande just to have lunch at the Buritto Loco on Halycon Road. We went today Saturday Jan 22 and I had two Chili Rellenos and they were delicious! We plan to drive there at least twice a month from now on. Stop by, you won't be disappointed. Ate here about a year or so and it was really good, but this time on our 8 taco dinner meal, which was a take out, it was terrible. The tacos were over cooked and the chips seemed old but just reheated. The chicken and meat used for the tacos was like a paste, really strange. The rice and beans were good, but that's it. This place is a joke. If you've been to Lompoc then you know there are great places for mexican food. Burrito Loco however, is not one of them, although they are the only mexican place that delivers. So, it works out ordering from them from time to time. I had quite the unpleasant experience with them during my last order, which will be my final order ever!! I ordered several items, an entree, a burrito, several ala carte items and an order of chips and salsa the one pound option. Grand total a bit under $40. Happy to pay cause I'm hungry. After all the food I had ordered I politely ask if they can give me some extra salsa, because who doesn't use a lot of salsa? I mean Taco Bell for goodness sake will give you as many salsa packets your heart desires. Which, they then replied that I can only have two salsas, now everyone knows the size of the little dixie cups restaurants use for salsa right, well, that clearly wouldn't be enough for the amount of food I ordered, and not nearly enough for my liking. So what it boiled down to is they refused to give me anymore salsa then two, which is just ridiculous seeing that anyone could easily use those two on a burrito alone. Frustrated and disappointed I, without hesitation, cancelled my order and asked for a refund. With so many Mexican restaurants in Lompoc that offer an unlimited salsa bar, or happily supply good customers when you ask for more of a good thing, it baffles me that a place like this, where the food isn't nearly as good, wouldn't try to make customers a bit happier. They have undoubtedly lost myself as a customer and will tell everyone and anyone I come across to steer clear, starting with this review. Burrito Loco try taking care of your customers, a bit of customer service goes along way, especially to the folks that help you keep your lights on. I ordered the nacho supreme with carne from here. Good portions, loved the guacamole, jalapenos and the beans! The meat wasn't the cheap ground beef with actual diced strips of steak meat!! YUM! The food was sub-par to say the least. It definitely didnt impress me. The salsa was not very good, the chicken enchiladas were tasteless, and the rice was dry. It was not the cleanest restaurant by any means and I was afraid to let my kids touch things. I've been eating here for years. They have the best carnitas & salsa. Salsa can be purchased to go. It's in a mini fridge in back near cash register. I always have some in my fridge. went here with a coworker for lunch. she ordered 2 carnitas tacos, HUGE! she ended up making two more tacos from all of the meat it was filled wit, she loved them. the salsa was really good as well, nice flavor. my only complaint is the steak quesadilla. there was hardly any cheese inside so the two pieces didn't stay together, and when picked up to eat, the whole I sides came falling out. I had to eat my quesadilla with a knife and fork. the beans inside didn't have much flavor as well, plain pinto beans will return. gotta try something different this time around read more

Food was really good! Staff was excellent. Only things I have bad to say is that it was extremely hot that it was uncomfortable. Like they don't run the AC hot. The last thing was cleanliness.
