Traditional Mexican restaurant in downtown Roseville with very good food and pretty much everything you'd expect from the ambiance to the decor to the service. As you enter this looks like any other rice and smashed beans place and when reading the menu it looks pretty much the same, too. Then the chips and salsa come and you know that this is going to better than average because the salsa, in particular, is so good. I had a simple meal, a house margarita and a enchilada/taco combination place. For me, the margarita was disappointing because it game in a goblet and I could only drink half of it; I'd have greatly prefer a normal on-the-rock margarita in a cocktail class and the menu provided no warning for what I suspect most people would view as a pleasant suprise. Think: wow, the margartias are huge! The food was very good, both the enchilada and the taco. The service was good but not great. read more

This place is pretty decent, but vastly overpriced. Roughly seven or so small pieces of wrapped chicken and cheese are thirteen bucks, and that along with two lunches was nearly $60. In theory I'd recommend it if money's not an issue but there's other Mexican restaurants, and food trucks in the area, that're just as good if not better and far cheaper. It's particularly bad for doing take-out at that price and dining in with an added tip really makes the idea of eating here a costly affair. I give this place a 3. The food was fantastic. Top notch asada quesadilla. The young man that brought out the salsa was very polite. I sat at the bar, so maybe that was the mistake. The woman behind the bar gave off the vibe that I was interrupting her day by sitting there. Never checked on me, took a long time to get me a drink after ordering (it was a bottled beer) When I was done eating, I asked the check, she brought it over, I pulled out my card and she left. I sat there for a solid 15 minutes before she ever came back. Maybe it was a bad day, we all have them. I would recommend either ordering the food to go, or not sitting in the bar. I was meeting my husband for lunch and arrived before him. There were only 2 other parties in the restaurant. I was greeted, if you could call it that, by a very unfriendly waitress.. She had a disgruntled look on her face. She seated me and left me sitting there for around 20 minutes before even coming back into the room. She serving me chips and salsa and brought menus. About 10 minutes later, a younger girl came and took our orders. Then the unpleasant waitress appeared about 10 minutes later asking to take our order. We told her another girl had taken our order. She didn't seem happy about that. We ask her if we could have more salsa. She never did bring it to us. When we got our order, I was shocked at the size of their lunch special chimichanga. It looked like a portion for a toddler. Although it tasted great, it was the smallest chimichanga I had ever seen in my life. My husband's order of Pollo à la Crema was decent size and tasty but almost double the price of my order. We finished our dinner and then waited and waited to receive our tab. No employee was in the dining area for extended periods of time. After about 15 minutes, we finally had to get up and ring the bell at the counter for our waitress come. She never smiled or showed any appreciation for our business. This is the first time ever my husband and I never left a tip and we will never patronize this business again. read more

Food is good but am I the only one who feels the woman who seems to be in charge never expresses any friendliness or appreciation towards her customers? She always seems bothered to wait on us. We have continued to go back but it's getting bothersome. I don't think it's just us, she seems indifferent to most of her customers. By the way, the young man who brought the chips and our drink order was very engaging and embarrassed that we were sitting so long before someone took our order. My main comment is every time I order food from here I get a different price. I think I have ate in maybe twice, I usually order to-go. And I always order dinner. Depending on who rings me up there is a $4 price difference. I order the same thing EVERY single time. Sometimes they charge $11, sometimes they charge me $15.50. I have asked and I always get a different answer! The food is good, customer service is questionable! read more

I came here in early August while visiting my sister. I enjoyed the chips and salsa at the start, and my food was pretty good. I had the pork carnitas plate and it was a generous serving. However, it had a lot of fat mixed it, and this detracted a bit from the overall experience. The margaritas are large, and somewhat expensive, and are powerful. Indeed they are so potent as to kill the flavor of the drink. Mine induced a headache in record time. If you are a hardcore drinker, this may be the beverage for you. read more

The reviews were pretty good so we decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did! Their salsa was out of this world, absolutely one of a kind and unlike any other, it's a must try! Different salsa than the typical Mexican joint. Deep purple with a slight bite really got my mouth watering for the main course. Quick service with a rather large menu. Lunch specials from $5-$10. Waitress said if I wanted something I didn't see on the menu she could have it made for me. What the hell, I asked for shrimp in a nice sour cream sauce like they have in Puerto Vallarta! Waiting for the main dish to arrive I notice the seats and booths quickly filling with the local crowd. The quite venue is getting louder and more lively as the clock ticks. The walls are lavishly decorated with Mexican hats, art, and farming equipment. I notice price tags on several of the items, perhaps they sell them? At this point the place is full and my food just arrived. Delicious! Everything had good flavor with what seems to me homemade tortillas. Delicious food. Very, very, very slow service. We were there for lunch on two separate occasions. Hardly anyone else was in the restaurant. But most of the time our waitress was no where to be seen. We had to hunt her down when we needed something. read more

We went out for the first time in months, excited to have an old favorite, we left before we could order. My tequila sunrise had about 20 fruit flies in it and I couldn't stay to trust the food. I moved to Eugene from SoCal 2 years ago and have been to a couple dozen Mexican places searching for a decent one. Having been burned a number of times by lousy food, I've learned to order something relatively innocuous like a taco salad or quesadilla. This place gets it right. Friendly service, tasty salsa, fresh chips, and properly spiced entrees. My boyfriend and I both ordered taco salads - his beef, mine chicken - and they were delicious. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! BAD SERVICE & BAD FOOD We went here for a birthday party it took them an hour and a half to get our drinks and had to wait another hour after our drinks came to get our food. My girlfriend who is allergic to shell fish ordered the fajita burrito and started to eat it noticed there was pieces of shrimp under the burrito and the sour cream. She had to be rushed to the hospital. No where on the menu or in the building does it say there is a possibility of the food being cross contaminated. read more

I really like this place. It's a small restaurant, not too fancy, but has excellent food. Their food is much more authentic than most Mexican food in the area. They have an exquisite fire-roasted salsa that's not too hot ( I'm not a good judge because I eat habanero salsa), but some friends of mine can eat it. They do have some nice knick-knacks hung on the wall that adds to the ambiance. Their Mexican rice is much different than other places it's not red colored, but does have ingredients in it that makes it quite tasty. Their re-fried beans are very good a bit runny but not too bad. They are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place if you are a fan of Mexican food or just a casual eater of Mexican cuisine. read more

The chicken taco, enchilada, and tamale plate and chimichanga lunch special were absolutely delicious however the Beef burrito we ordered was HUGE yet only had 3(!!!) tiny pieces of beef and was 99% bland nasty rice(also in our lunch plates). The waiters were wonderful but the only female employee (hostess??) was not very pleasant from the start. We told her there was no meat in the burrito and she had us dig through and find the 3 pieces and said "see I told you it was beef" Really??
