My boyfriend raved about this place, but I've had much better. I ordered two tacos: pollo and al pastor. The chicken was nice and tender, but pretty much flavorless. The pork had more flavor, but it was so greasy that it was a bit of a turn off. Speaking of turn offs, I wasn't impressed with the sign posted on the door about masks. The gist of it was that all patrons must wear a mask, and the folks who work there don't want to hear any excuses. I don't have a problem with a "mask required" sign, but is it necessary to be tactless about it? Crook stole my money Misleading prices. I called in my order. They didn't give me the price over the phone. I arrived at the beat-down restaurant. That can be a good or bad thing for Mexican restaurants. One of the employees came to the window and asked if they could take my order. I gave them my order. There was a language barrier, but I could make out what they were saying. Once he came back with my food and recipe. I noticed that twice as much as the advertised price was supposed to be. I told them they overcharged me for everything. He insisted that the prices on the website were all wrong. He then gave me a menu, and I told him that price was different than what they charged me. Just had a very disappointing experience. I my sister and I went inside and ordered. Originally I thought I only wanted a couple of tacos. My sister ordered the Chile relleno plate. Hers looked so good. I tasted her Chile and it was soft, tender. It was so good. I ordered the plate for myself. I cut into mine was way underdone. I took it back up to the person and told him it wasn't cooked enough. Instead of offering me another he asked me what he should do about it stick it in the microwave.?? I told him how soft my sister's was, he shrugged and said sometimes they come out different. No offer to give me another. Didn't offer to give me my money back. No apologies. Today was my first visit. I had the Beef Super Burrito. When he told me $12 i about fell over, but it was definitely $12 worth of food. I went to the drive thru, speaker system wasn't working and exterior could use some freshening up. But my Super Burrito was SUPER DELICIOUS. I enjoy Tacos Guaymas very much. I have eaten there many times and the food is always delicious and the staff is friendly and courteous.

My husband went to pick up food for dinner one night and mistook this place for the one I usually go to further down State Ave. I immediately noticed the difference and that's when we realized he went to the wrong restaurant! Suffice it to say, we would more than likely not return. We ordered 10 steak tacos, steak super burrito and Camarones al Mojo de Ajo (prawns garlic and butter sauce with mushrooms). The tacos were okay (not enough meat for $2.50 each) and the camarones has a weird sour taste to the sauce (made me think it was going bad). These guys put zero love in their food and not friendly service. We had the tamales and Chile Verde burrito. Although the tamales are large, it's mostly masa (not very flavorful) and very little meat. That's the case with most restaurants, not at all like homemade. I've recently, bought better from a woman on Facebook. The worst part was, they heated them, in the microwave! Chile Verde burrito. Now I know why they push the "wet" burrito. I don't care for "wet" style, so I declined. The pork was very dry, no verde sauce, that I could tell. It seems the only thing "verde" about it was the crazy amount of cilantro. Seriously, you can make better Chile Verde in the Instant Pot with pork, salt, pepper and a can of green chilies and tomato. The portion size was large, as wel as the price. I am embarrassed to leave this review. It has been about 3 weeks since we attempted to eat at Tacos Guaymas. It is a dive but that is usually where you get the best food. We entered, were greeted at the counter where you order. The menu is up on the side wall. As I approached to say hello there was a mass of fruit flies or gnats, not sure but flying bugs over the staff and counter area. It was about 8pm and the dining room was half full. I was floored but didn't make a scene. However my husband took one look at my face and said "do we need to go?"The staff turned away for a second and so did I, never to return again. My husband was embarrassed for us to walk out but I just couldn't bring myself to point out the obvious to the staff. Most of their reviews are very good. I'm a huge fan of all these restaurants and this one is no different. Love the salsa bar, the green avocadoy one is my favorite, followed closely by the pico de gallo. I usually get the veggie burrito, although my friend did complain she thought it had too many carrotts, I thought this made it more delicious. The salsa that comes with the chips is good too, although I never understand why its not available in the salsa bar. Service is fast, you can usually find a coupon, everyone is friendly.
