    Gigante Burrito

I got a few items to go this time, Was sure to get 1/2 pint of salsa to go with with the Gigante burrito. Service was great and I love the setup of the establishment. I just wished the food had more traditional Mexican flavor to it. Burritoville Spice up the food !!!!!

I've been eating at burritville for 20+ years, since they were in the red hill shopping center in San Anselmo. I like that I can still get a "baby" burrito, for those days when I'm not super hungry. The quality and consistency has declined a bit over the past few years though, so this is no longer my steady, go-to taqueria. But still a nice lunch spot in my new taqueria rotation.

Best burrito in Marin by far. I get carnitas super burrito w refried beans! So good and flavorful

    Super Burrito

Super (small) burrito Count your days burritoville, what the hell is this. "Super" bullshit. I wanted dinner, not a supplement. This is ridiculous.

Burritoville is located in downtown Larkspur so parking could be a bit tricky. I thought my shrimp burrito was very good and flavorful. Their hot is not very spicy, in my opinion, but it did have a nice kick. Shrimp was perfectly grilled and seasoned, all the add ons were really good (I got the supreme one so it included guacamole and sour cream). You can order ahead or order at the counter and their to go orders are pretty fast. The place is pretty small but they do have several tables if you want to dine in.

Embarrassingly small, never in my 22 years of ordering the Frijoles Con Queso Burrito has it ever been this small, not here not anywhere.

I'm seriously disappointed. I'm 27 years old and I've been coming here since I was 4 years old. I lived in Larkspur for over a decade and even when we didn't live in Larkspur, I would beg my parents to take me to burrito Ville for dinner growing up. Softball games, swim practice, ballet rehearsals, walking around town with my friends, all had one thing in common growing up - "lets go to burrito Ville!" Even on an occasional Bad day, my dad would bring me burritoville lunch to cheer me up. There have been years of my life where we got burritoVille consistently , at least three or four times a week. Die hard fans. The salsa being one of our favorite parts. And the friendly cashier when we were younger. As I entered my teens, I started to notice that the cashiers would be extremely rude to everyone. I would always hear the same thing. The foods good but man those cashiers are so stingy and rude! Didnt deter us all together. Then the salsa bar went away. The prices spiked more than you'd expect AND portions went down a lot. Tonight I received the rudest service along with a false advertisement on the website of the price ( it saying $6 bean and cheese burrito, the associate saying its $7.55 - which is illegal) its about the principle. Im expecting the same size bean and cheese burrito. What i got was a miserable excuse for even a childs burrito. (Something Ive nostalgically ordered for 22 years. It was the smallest burrito I have ever seen in my entire life. Needless to say, I don't know if I will ever be returning - one of the biggest disappointments ever in Marin County history. Have in mind I asked him for four of the teeny tiny tablespoon of salsas, that's one of the reasons I come there. And he was like how about one. Like whats that gonna do. this is so messed up. Owner you need to do something or this place will go eventually. Mi Familia still has a salsa bar and they always have a line out the door. Take notes burritoville. Stop being so cheap and stingy. It doesn't make the burrito taste better.

It's not good Mexican food, over priced. Go to Tucán tacos in San Rafael. Where they serve real salsas and tacos with more than enough meat.

We had a reservation for Father's Day and waited about 10 minutes for a table to open, as it was the busiest I have seen. The table was nice, big enough for the five of us, and the ambiance is always great here as well. We were quickly greeted by our server, Eli, who provided chips and salsas to whet our appetites, and we soon narrowed our focus to the food and drink menus. We ultimately decided on some El Jefe Tacos, a shrimp and crab enchilada, a three-item combo with two chile rellenos and a cheese enchilada with green sauce, a carne asada taco, and the volcanic Molcajete (served in a warm stone bowl with grilled steak, chicken, and prawns. Covered with a red chile, roasted tomato sauce). For libations, we went with a mojito and a new drink - for us at least - the pineapple mezcal mule! The food came in a timely manner, and the molcajete was still bubbling! Hence, the volcano nickname! The mojito was very minty and refreshing, and the pineapple mezcal mule was an acquired taste for some of the group - I enjoyed the smoky earthiness of the mezcal, but it's not your run-of-the-mill tequila, so if you are new to mezcal, be aware of the difference. The food last time was a bit spicy, but this time it was not an issue. Still spicy, but not to the point of being overpowering. Even the salsas were not as extreme. Good for some of us! All the food was delicious, and the three-item combo was great to look at as well. As we say, "the eyes eat first," and indeed my eyes were little piggies that meal! Overall, the service was great, the food great, and the entertainment a perfect background for what would have been just a noisy bunch of chatter. Overall a great Father's Day lunch.

I came around 4:30pm, and the restaurant was empty, so we were seated immediately. Service was quick and efficient. I did hear a lot of the loud conversation between the two girls at the register about Instagram and TikTok.... I ordered the super burrito, which was nicely toasted, but overall it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out either. There was no real spice or bold flavor, and I couldn't quite figure out what it was missing. The horchata was pretty basic. It tasted more like plain milk with cinnamon sprinkled on top rather than the richer, more flavorful horchata you'd expect. I also tried the Baja fish tacos, which were disappointing. The fish wasn't crispy enough and lacked flavor. The tortilla was easily breaking apart. It's like they took the tortilla straight out of the bag because it was cold and didn't look cooked. It came with tortilla chips that were over-fried and borderline burnt, though I wasn't sure if that was intentional. Another reason this ended up being a lower rating for me is the owner's response to feedback. As you can see in other reviews, Tommy tends to get very defensive when customers leave criticism, which I found pretty unprofessional. After I posted my review, he actually messaged me directly (see screenshot), which was honestly off-putting. Yelp is meant to be a space for customers to share their honest experiences, whether positive or negative, and responding in that way doesn't reflect well on the business. I also live in San Francisco, where there's no shortage of authentic and high-quality Mexican food, so I stand by my opinion. Being told my palate isn't "on point" felt dismissive rather than constructive. If anything, I'd just caution others that if you leave feedback here, be prepared for a defensive response from ownership, which may impact your overall experience beyond just the food. Overall, I was surprised given the strong reviews. The meal felt pretty bland across the board, and unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. Also the owner's attitude doesn't deserve any business. After the owners negative and defensive responses, I know I won't come back.

We started with the chips & salsas- the chips were just as I like them; thin, crispy with salt. My sister had the vegan enchiladas and her husband the vegan pozole which he raved about. My son had the trio of carnitas tacos and was quite satisfied. I thoroughly enjoyed the veggie (not vegan as I love my queso) chile rellenos - they were divine. The sauce was perfectly flavored. We shared the churros for dessert- a bit disappointed as they were not crispy & a bit doughy on the inside. Our server was friendly and the prices were reasonable.
