We ordered Burritos to be delivered through door dash. When they arrived they were the smallest Super Burritos we have ever seen. They were very expensive so we assumed they would be a larger meal. I did call and just asked if this was normal, the man I spoke with said "yes that is". Maybe it was an off day, or they make half the size for Door-dash pickups. I've been coming here since 2005. The restaurant seems to be under new ownership. The last 3 times I have been in for takeout they've forgotten to put something in my bag and I've had to go back. The food itself has gone down in taste and quality. Yesterday when dining-in they got our taco orders completely wrong, after waiting a really long time, and then we waited even longer for them to remake it, and the taste and quality wasn't there, in fact my tacos were cold. The beverage cooler doesn't keep drinks cold, it was very disappointing and unfortunately I will need to find a new go-to for my tacos :( read more

I don't know why I've been so hesitant to try this place considering it's not even a half mile from home but I'm glad I did. Got a carnitas super burrito and it was amazing. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars...This review has nothing to do with the food because I didn't even have a chance to taste it due to their horrendous customer service! I placed my order after 2 other people - there were only 3 of us in the cafe at that time. About 10 min later, a flock of local high schoolers come in - this is obviously their usual lunch spot as the workers got into position to take their orders. I swear there were about 15 people jam-packed in there and each one of them got their food express made! Meanwhile, I'm standing there patiently waiting for my simple carnitas burrito... 30 min into it, my patience wore out and I confronted the guy who rang up my order. He had the audacity to lie to my face and say that these people already placed their orders via phone - HE CLEARLY TOOK THEIR ORDERS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I called him out on his lie to which he had no response and told me that my food is being made. Well guess what? I didn't want it any more and asked for a refund which ended up being less than what I paid for in the first place!!! What a ridiculous place! They have no integrity or concern for their customers. I've lived near by for almost 10 years now and I've always had a good experience with the employees and the food has always been great. I go there weekly and get take out. Went last night. We get the pollo asada entree, veggie burritos, carne asada soft tacos, the new taquitos, and quesadillas and it's always great. We love the place, it's been consistently good food for years and they work their asses off trying to make customers happy. For me, it's comfort food and it satisfies my Mexican food cravings. It's a great place and I'm thankful to have this little gem of a restaurant so close to home. Give them a try if you like Mexican food! read more

Burritoville does not disappoint!!! My boyfriend and I LOVE this place and go regularly. We order the same thing almost every time and can't get enough! We are obsessed with their carnitas chili verde burritos. They are SO flavorful, juicy, full of meat and huge! We also recently tried their fried carnitas burritos and they are delicious! My boyfriend and I agree that these guys make one of the best burritos in Marin and we know because we've tried a lot of different places. They also have the most delicious salsas! Their green salsa is to die for! If we ever have left over salsa (which is rare) we mix it with eggs the next morning and it's phenomenal. Unfortunatly this was a not worth the price choice . After paying for my food and tip, I had to wipe the table. The food was bland, served in dishes made for childrens meal. The Tortilla Soup bowl was mainly tap water. We requested corn tortillas in The enchilada, it arrived to the table filled with cheese however the tortilla dint seem to be pure corn but a combination of white flower and a bit of corn. In 1 to 5, I rate the service at 2 no one care if we wore happy with the food or not, not a bit of interaction with out our innitiative. I have lived in Larkspur for 30 years, and Burritoville was a regular stop for take-out over the years. The last two orders I picked up were deplorable, and I will never go back. Guess I have to travel to Mill Valley or a Taqueria in San Rafael to get a decent burrito. Case in point: I order the EXACT same thing every time that runs around $28.00 w/out tip. Last two orders I picked up were $39.00 for the exact same order. Always order burritos (regular) with beans and some sort of meat. Last order had all beans and rice and virtually no meat. This order, I skipped the beans and ordered burritos with rice and meat only. Again-- a burrito filled with rice and virtually no meat! I do not need to spend that kind of money on a tortilla filled with rice. The people working there now are not as friendly as they were in the past, either. Sorry guys, you had a very long-time, loyal and local customer, and you blew it. I will not be going back. Rather do some drive time for something decent. Only redeeming factor right now-- they have some of the absolute best homemade salsas. I started going to Burritoville when they had a location at the Red Hill Shopping Center. Unfortunately, when that location closed down I don't get it as often as I used to since it's a little out of the way. When I do go, I get the same fish burrito and the quality is always the same. They do such a great job. If you're looking to try something different than just the average chicken or carne asada burrito, I definitely recommend the fish burrito. read more

I hate to give a one-star review because that means that I have to have a one-star experience. Burritoville provided that one-star experience. When we placed our orders, the men behind the counter commented about our orders under their breath and laughed amongst themselves. We waited at least ten minutes and maybe as long as a quarter of an hour for our order to arrive. There was nobody else in the place at the time and only one to-go burrito order happened as we waited. Still, there was this inexplicable delay. The food, when it arrived, was inedible. My dining companion and I both left our food barely touched and left. Given that the prices at Burritoville are fairly high, and then given that we had to go somewhere else for lunch because we were still hungry, not having eaten the terrible food that was presented to us at Burritoville Cafe, we had a very expensive lunch that day. Now I have put much more effort into writing this review than those working at Burritoville Cafe put into making our food on that day, I have no doubt. It's pretty good for a taqueria in Larkspur. OK, it's not really a taqueria, as much of their menu is combination plates, but I'd hardly call this a restaurant, and that's a good thing. I dropped in here after church yesterday because I wanted something quick and cheap within walking distance of where I was worshiping and where I'm staying. Burritoville fit the bill, and I immediately liked how clean but not clinical it was inside. The big-board menu is pretty extensive, but their burrito options are kind of ridiculous. Instead of just listing burritos, tacos, tostadas, and something else separately, each "filling" is listed; and then you see the prices for this filling within your "vehicle" of choice. I can understand this for something like carne asada or prawns, but for everything? It was a little bit disconcerting that there was no bean-and-cheese or super-vegetarian burrito listed. They had a specifically veggie option, but it was actual vegetables, and I tend not to like those in burritos. Since I didn't want to go off menu for my first time, I ordered the chile relleno. The guy asked me what kind I wanted. I looked at the board, and sure enough, I could get four versions of chile relleno. I was mildly interested in what the heck a chile relleno taco would look like, but I settled on a burrito, and my food was ready pretty quickly. While I was waiting, I noticed the cute model-train track that goes around the crown molding of the interior. It wasn't running when I was here, but I hope it runs sometimes; it's really neat. The chile relleno burrito--wow, that's so weird to even think about--was good, although it was pretty small. But this is Marin, so I guess I don't mind paying a little too much for something decent to eat. It could have been much worse, but it also could have been better. read more

Always pleasantly surprised at the fresh salsa and chips. Love the juicy, spicy crunch. Four choices for salsa if you don't like spicy, or you DO ! I asked how the salsa was produced. Fresh every day. They use authentic recipes. The chips and guac are made fresh every day too. NO Lard. My go to order is the fish taco. I get it with beans and rice, and then add my own salsa. I love the salsa mixed with rice so I add it to my taco. Sometimes I get the pork verde. Little cubes of pork with hot corn tortillas. The green sauce is like no other. Lived in Larkspur for years and am happy to see they've been there for 19 years. When my grown daughter visits, she asks to go there. read more

I feel really bad about doing this but I must be honest. This had been my "go to" place for Mexican food, mostly veggie burritos for the last 3 years. I always order bean and cheese Chimis. They always put rice in there. At first I didn't mind it, but after a few times the salt in the rice was getting out of hand. I mean I drink at a min. of 3 pints of water a day, but the next morning after having their rice,bean and cheese burritos my ankles and hands would swell up!! That is not healthy at all . I thought " well maybe they have a new cook" So I figured after about 3 times of swelling up I would then start asking for just a straight bean and cheese chimichanga NO RICE. I ordered with no rice and get home and there is rice in it. I order again on another occasion and ask for no rice. I take it home and there are NO BEANS just rice and cheese. So now I am getting upset ,but I want to give them another chance. I order on my next visit and try to impress upon the owner/manager beans and cheese only. The manager had some sort of comprehension problem with my very basic request. He could not process the fact that I wanted a "BEAN AND CHEESE CHIMICHNGA NO RICE" He then said that they were running out of beans so there was not going to be a lot of beans in there. I said okay that is fine. ( Did he adjust the price? No he still charged me for a meat chimichanga) Onwards. The beans were watery and gross. I thought, well it might be because they were running out. So I give them one last chance and they give me rice in it with a lot of beans that are LARD laden and watery and forgot to include the sour cream and guacamole. That is it. I do not think I have ever ever given a place as many chances as I have burritoville. This was not some insane request. This was not rocket science. So I am beginning to think that it was an outright disregard for pleasing the customer. I had never wanted to appear rude and tell them' Your rice is so salty I have to remove the brine from my nose after I eat it!" I've got to knock off a few stars for the service and quality really going down over the past year. They are really understaffed and at lunch it gets crazy busy and out if the last three times I have eaten there I have either a)received the wrong food b)not had my good made as I ordered (super burrito with no guac or crema when it's standard) or c)the food is just dry. They will fix the issue, but if it's a take out order it can't be remedied. And why are the burritos so tiny these days? If it's 9$ it should be big, like I can't eat all of it big. And they should have a separate line for pickup orders, when you call in your order and they say 10 minutes, you wait in line to pay for 20? Makes no sense. I've probably only eating at Burritoville three or four times. So of course I feel like I have maximum authority in announcing that the one and only correct item to order here is the California burrito. My first time I tried a platter (knowing me, naturally it was the shrimp) and it was very whatever and overpriced. That time, when I was still inexperienced, I tried the churros which were average and didn't taste as fresh as they could have been. At least they weren't hot when we ate them which didn't help their case. I guess not totally stale, but kind of hard. The low rating made it so that I didn't even try this place for probably a year after moving to Corte Madera. And from the looks of it it's still getting plenty of bad reviews. From my own experience, the California burritos have always been quite decent. Although ugh, re-reading the review to my side it makes me pretty impressed that I was gutsy enough to try it to begin with. It has a great location in downtown Larkspur, but it isn't the fanciest or cleanest spot you'll go. For a clean minimal style you'll probably have to go somewhere in the city. Burritoville on the other hand evokes a great many of the classic taquerias in the city (if not their food). The burritos by themselves would be a 4 star. read more

I love this place and have had great food for many years here. Today I ordered the pescado burrito with medium salsa. The salsas were delicious, however, the fish was too hot to eat so I actually only took a few bites. Also the burrito was SUPER soggy and fell apart almost the minute I unwrapped it....almost a 1/4 cup of juice came out of the bottom of the burrito. As far as I know, this is the ONLY place in Marin where you can get a chili relleno burrito. Otherwise, a craving means a trip to SF or the East Bay. That alone is worth five stars. Also, most taquerias have stopped offering refried beans in burritos. Not only can you get them here, they're great. Finally, I know someone who is involved in supplying their produce and ingredients and I was told that they use only the freshest and best available.
