Then I realize... it's like 250 feet away. I'm talking "we could've crawled there if needed" distance. Say less. It was Easter night so we weren't even sure if they'd be open, but we walked over anyway and got lucky. We were greeted by the sweetest lady ever. She had that classic Texas accent and was super friendly. We ended up chatting with her for a bit while trying to figure out what to order (because everything looked good). I went with the Beach B and my wife got the Banana Pudding. Both were amazing. Sweet, cold, and exactly what we needed. It definitely hit the spot. Also love that we got to support a local business instead of some big chain. We're already planning to be back in Galveston in January--and staying at the Mansard House again--so yeah... we'll 100% be back here too.

Plenty of customers were busy studying or working, giving it a cozy atmosphere. While cute, the menu availability was rather disappointing. A good potion of the items that were listed on the back of the menu were either no longer offered or unavailable. I had been looking forward to ordering a Seasonal Smoothie Bowls, only to discover it was no longer offered since Basin Bistro next door now offers them instead. They were also out of fruit for the smoothies. In the end I was able to order a smoothie substitute.

The food was mediocre. I love the fact that the waffles are dairy-free, but the portion size is small for the price. I ordered avocados and eggs on a croissant and it tasted like something you take out of a refrigerator and heat up. I didn't want to sit inside because the tables were not clean. It's a cute restaurant and decorated nicely with beach vibes but, could be cleaner. I did not try their waffle treat which is something people rave about.
