I'm such a snob when it comes to my burgers, and I don't always agree with other burger connoisseurs because quite frankly everyone has their favorite kind of burgers. For me, it's a thin patty just like these. AND gluten free people, THEY DO A LETTUCE WRAP. Thank you baby jesus! It's so hard to get a good lettuce wrapped burger. The meat is seasoned differently than any other place I've had, which makes it unique and if you're feeling like being extra naughty, definitely help yourself to your own order of french fries. My 4 star and not 5 star review is simply due to price points. I think this spot is very over priced for what you get. We easily spend $40 on just the two of us and sometimes I'm still hungry afterwards. Nice little spot tho in a good location, easy to bike to, relatively fast. I have been craving a big ole burger for some time now...cruising down Taylor with a coworker I thought ooooo let's check out Busy Burger. Perfect for a work lunch since it's quick and relatively inexpensive. Don't let the name fool you, there is plenty more than burgers on the menu. Since I needed my cow fix, I went with a classic cheeseburger and fries. The burger is quite large...at first I actually thought they gave me a double instead but turns out it was just one serious patty. Ain't hatin on that. Packed with the fixins, lettuce, pickle, cheese for days, grilled (or raw) onions, and their special busy sauce. The sauce is a bit on the spicy side but it added great flavor. To be honest I think the sauce made the burger because it would have been rather basic without it. The fries were the delicious potato-skin type which are always a perfect pairing with a burger. I will not hesitate to visit busy burger again for a quick work lunch when I'm craving red meat. I will warn though...you will smell like busy burger for 3 days when you leave there. I was in there for a total of 8 minutes and I physically smelled like I worked there. My coat, my hair, my skin. Not sure what's up with the ventilation in there but I seriously feel for the workers who have to endure that day in and day out. God speed for the love of burgers. read more

I really, really wanted to love this place. Things I liked: Service and cleanliness was excellent. Fresh strawberry shake tasted like grandma made it in the kitchen (a bit pricey). The shake had an all natural taste, it wasn't very sweet but deeelishious :))). Things I wish I liked: I went in search of a great flame broiled burger AND great fresh fries. I could tell the burger was fresh meat cooked on a grill but something was missing. I may have spoiled my own experience by excluding the "busy sauce". The fries were okay. A few years ago I wrote a review about how much I loved BB. Unfortunately, I no longer feel the same way. In the past 3 months I have tried on 4 separate occasions to eat BB and each time I have found myself incredibly ill from it :/ This breaks my heart as I could eat it every day. Ordered from here (delivery) a 3 times and it has been wonderful, each time! Burgers are spicy and flavorful, especially the stuffed burger, with the gooey cheese and bacon bits in it. Pizza puff is not too greasy and it's a great appetizer; flaky pastry with sausage and cheese, so fresh. The fries are fresh as well. They're okay, but with everything else it ties in well. This place really is just average. Nothing too special about it to be honest. A little disappointed because I was about to get Jimmy John's but then saw this place and was like "man I really want a burger." And granted I got it, I wasn't that impressed. I haven't had such a bad experience in a long time. Last night I went here to grab a quick bite before my friends arrive from Detroit. I had seen it previously while walking around Taylor St, so I decided to give it a shot. First thing wrong with the place...it was HOT and MUGGY in there. Okay, so it's summertime and you're in a room with large flames, but seriously? It was still 65 degrees outside. After I ordered I had to stand by the door and outside to keep from sweating. I was willing to overlook this, especially if the food was good. Second thing...they obviously spent a lot of time decorating the outside of their building, but the inside was your generic old cheap burger place that you would see anywhere else on a street corner with the yellow Vienna sausage sign. Again, willing to overlook if the food was good. Finally, when I ordered, I ordered the special of the day, a 1/2 slab of meat. I figured I'd give it a shot since it was my first time there. BIG MISTAKE. I went home, settled down and ate my sandwich while my out of town friends arrived. Within three hours, I had major stomach cramps, headache, fatigue and nausea. A half hour more, I was lying in the bathroom with my head in a toilet. Luckily, my friends were sympathetic and didn't mind that their host was spending most of the night in the bathroom emptying her stomach. One of them, who happens to be a doctor, offered to prescribe some antibiotics since it was becoming apparent that I had food poisoning. All through the night, I started alternating between being too hot and too cold and in addition to chills and muscle aches. I drank some chicken broth to sooth the stomach (which came up within a couple of hours). I could only stay asleep for 1-2 hours at a time. This morning, I felt much better but had to decline going out with my friends (who I haven't seen in months) due to the sensitivity of my head to light, fatigue, muscle aches and the unpredictable nature of my stomach. It was late. I was starving and my judgment was clouded with hunger (you know, like those Snicker's "hangry" commercials?). I hastily searched for some place to send me a burger on Grubhub and found Busy Burger. I got a double cheese with spicy mayo for me, fries, plus hot dogs for hubs. When our food arrived, my burger was hard, like a hockey puck. It was warm and cooked through but definitely not a consistency that was appetizing. Even in my state of starvation I didn't finish it. Just stopped by Busy burger for lunch today. The menu is quite simple with not too much variety. You can add on bacon, cheese, and some toppings for extra charge. I ordered a cheeseburger meal with cheese fries and a drink. I could see the cooks put the burger on the grill which is great. The burger was good but the meat needed a little more seasoning. Wow, this place serves up a delicious burger. I had never heard of Busy Burger before, and we stopped by on a whim to get a mini burger and onion rings to tide us over for the afternoon. I'm pleased to report that the burger was fantastic! Delicious, hot, grilled to perfection, with fantastic grilled onions with the right amount of carmelization on them. And the bun was great too--on the spectrum of breads, it was somewhere near the "pretzel roll" end of things, and it was a fantastic complement to the burger contents. The onion rings were also fantastic too--served piping hot with a delicious coating that was not too heavy. All this was served up in a cute, shiny, clean location right near the University. Before this place opened I was pretty excited to try BUSY BURGER..looked like it was going to be some cool burger bar. Finally went here for the first time this weekend & I gotta say I was a bit dissapointed. I was really craving a burger that day and while the price was decent the burger itself just didn't do it for me. I initially ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, but then while they were making my burger they told me they ran out of bacon. =( So i had to hold out on the fatty goodness that I think really could have helped this burger. The burger was pretty bland and didn't hold together very well. Basically...I've had better. I find myself in this area around lunch time quite often and have always passed by Busy Burger wanting to check it out. I finally did and I'm so happy! I've gone twice now and had a great experience both times. The first time I went I got a portabello 'burger' and fries. The sandwich was good but those fries... they were perfect! They were playing an odd mix of music for a burger place, (I heard grindcore and even a Blitz song, which pretty much made my whole day), but I dug it.The second time I went I got an actual Busy Burger, cheese fries & onion rings (don't judge me!). While the burger itself was really good.. the cheese fries and onion rings were even better. Busy burger is probably one of the more underrated burger joints in Chicago. The student discount makes it extremely well priced and the food is very good. Most recently, I had the Busy Burger with a side of Dipping Rings and after the student discount only payed a little over $8. The burger tasted great, I'm a huge fan of the "busy sauce" that they put in it and the Onion Rings were good too, they were served with Southwest sauce. Staff in here are incredibly friendly and cheerful. My order was literally ready after a few minutes. The turkey burger is juicy and I love it, simple and fresh, a really good one. I noticed a lot of reviewers had bad experiences here, but my burger was great! I went and got the special of the day which was a bacon and cheddar stuffed burger and a side of cheese fries. It was early in the day before it got really busy and my burger was perfection. It was so juicy and cooked perfectly. The fries also had the perfect crunch, not soggy and definitely not burnt.
