Fantastic unassuming Italian restaurant in Islip. Went on a Saturday at 4, and boy did it fill up fast and get loaded. It's got a classic villa aesthetic inside, and plenty of servers who are super attentive and friendly. The Pappardelle alla Bolognese, Short Rib and risotto, and Veal Milanese were outstanding! Don't see something on the menu? Most normal Italian items they are happy to whip up for you. Def a great spot to check out.

First time here at this authentic Italian restaurant. After reading all the wonderful reviews, we just had to try it for ourselves. They make their own homemade pasta so that particularly caught our attention. The restaurant is lovely with a low-key and mellow atmosphere but a bit dark with very dim lighting. Every single server and all staff were extremely attentive , professional, polite, and pleasant. A Complementary appetizer of bruschetta, olives, cheese and bread was brought immediately to the table. It was so delicious. The bread was crispy and warm . We ordered drinks and a few appetizers ... Baked clams and a crab meat and avocado salad both very delicious. For entrees we all went with a pasta dish. I had the Bolognese it was excellent ! We also ordered a couple of desserts, tiramisu and the apple tartlet . Unfortunately, although the tiramisu tasted delicious it was a little on the soggy side. However the apple tart was yummy , with a nice crispy flaky crust. As it was one of our birthdays, they surprised us with a complimentary pannatone decorated with Happy Birthday on the plate . Thank you that was so nice ! Although we did not have any, we were also offered , at the end of the meal a complementary glass of lemon cello ! It was a lovely evening. We enjoyed our dinner and hope to return again soon.

Last night I make a reservation to IL piccolo Villagio in Islip.. I needed to use a certificate given to us... This would be my 2nd time going as we didn't use the certificate in its entirety the 1st time.. This place is such a hidden gem.. The word quiant comes to mind.. Lots of wood finishes nice bar.. And all these friendly faces of staff eagerly waiting to serve you. We sat and ordered a dirty martini... And I ordered a passion fruit martini... Mine was amazing and my friend could not stop raving about hers.. We asked our server what the specials were.. Without a blink of an eye he explained the specials.. We both ordered the Manicotti filled with spinach and ricotta In vodka sauce.. This was the most delicious meal.. Simple and beautifuly plated. The staff is just a great group of humans.. Thank you for such a great foodie moment...

We were looking for some fresh pasta, and they did not disappoint!!! Food was absolutely delicious. If you are looking for fresh pasta in Suffolk county this is the place to visit. We sat at the bar service was amazing! We also ordered the short rib this was a special it was fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, delicious! Ambiance is a neighborhood family vibe, but you can also have a date night. Perfect for all occasions. Will definitely frequent this place.

This place is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of islip! We got served by Angel at the bar with excellent attentive service who made the most delicious espresso martini I've had so far on the island I recommend trying that from him as well as the chicken capri or the bolognese both are to die for

We ordered from here at least once a week, but unfortunately, the quality and customer service have gone downhill. After one major order mistake, I called to have it corrected and was met with an attitude that completely turned me off. I even questioned whether the restaurant had changed ownership because the difference in service and quality was so noticeable. I was told it hadn't, but there was a new manager whom I had actually seen at the restaurant. Despite all of that, my family insisted we give it another chance because they love one particular meal. I refused to order, pay, or pick it up--and sure enough, they forgot the salad dressing (again!) and another part of the order was incorrect. When I called and asked if someone could deliver the missing items I was met with attitude once again. Tonight, we gave them yet another chance, and, surprise, two of our pasta orders were wrong. On top of that, the food simply doesn't taste as good as it used to. I'm really not sure what happened, but between the menu changes, our favorite items disappearing, repeated mistakes, and consistently disappointing customer service, I'm officially done. I've even perfected the "favorite meal" at home on principle. After years of being loyal customers, it's extremely disappointing to say that I will not be going back.

There is limited parking in the small lot in the back but there is street parking. There is a small bar area that was quite busy when my brother and I visited on a recent Tuesday at 7pm. I don't know if they have 'happy hour' but it seemed to quiet down not long after that. The dining area is not large but there are quite a number of tables and for a Tuesday many were occupied at that time with everyone from couples to families to singles. Complimentary bruschetta was brought along with a bread basket of a rustic bread w/olives and a white bread. There is a very extensive wine list along with a good selection by the glass. The standard menu is huge and they also had a full page of specials. We started with the crab cakes for an app and we mentioned we'd be sharing. I was impressed that they brought us each 1 plated. My brother had a Veal chop special, enough for two meals, that was stuffed with spinach, prosciutto & cheese in a brown mushroom gravy. He enjoyed it tremendously I have a chicken special that was stuffed with spinach, sausage, ricotta in a light tomato sauce. It was very tasty and a large portion. I took half home. There were also several dessert specials, we had a pistachio creme brulee which was just ok and a rainbow cookie crusted cheesecake which was outstanding. Everything from the service to the food was above average and I won't hesitate to go again and soon

First we ordered the bread basket because we were starving. That was a little disappointing because the first piece of bread was dry. Also, it bums me out to pay for pre-dinner bread. Even the local pizzeria serves a very delicious offering of bread before dinner but I guess because ITA is elevated Italian, perhaps it's a little too casual for an upscale restaurant. So, the bad news is they forgot to hold the stratiacella cheese. Then when my pasta came out, it was cooked past al dente. I was disappointed but so hungry. So I ate it. Then as I was putting the leftovers in the bag, to take home, I decided to say something to the waitress. Having to reheat it would cook the already overcooked, would turn it in to mush. And that was a $28 pasta dish, not including the crown. So I decided to mention it to the waitress because I'm sure they would rather me tell them, than give a bad review. They immediately apologized and offered to make a brand new dish to take home. On top of that, they also comp'd to desserts!! The Rainbow Cookie Crumb Cake, which was divine, and the Pistashio Cheesecake, also outstanding. So they get an extra star for treating the customer right!! I would recommend and come back again. I would order the Spicy Rigatoni again and skip the bread basket. Also, it's very cute inside. Insta worthy.

Cuisine: 6 Service: 5…read moreDecor: 7 Value: 8 Overall: 6 We chose this place due to a show we were watching at a theater steps away. Not a bad Italian restaurant, but there were small issues that did not give us the experience we were hoping for. Heading in, we told the server that we have about 1.5 hour before our show, making sure he is aware. He said, "No problem. Plenty of time." Sadly, throughout the night, we felt ignored a bit even when we were just simply trying to speed up ordering or pay our bill. I know he was busy with a full house, but we weren't asking for too much. Somehow, it took us nearly the full 1.5 hour to finish the meal, hence rushing to the theater barely on time. Another big issue was food that didn't come out hot. At the suggestion of our server, we ordered a combination platter of appetizers. It was huge with six different items and most of it tasted alright. Unfortunately, several items were not hot. Even worse, the shrimps and mussels were cold, which we brought to our servers attention and asked to take that portion of the platter off the bill. He offered replacements, but we had plenty of food and no time to wait for another round of appetizers, so we declined. After another 20 minutes, he brought us new plates of both items, this time hot. We looked at each other and just went with the flow. With that delay, our time was becoming a little more limited. We received our entrees about 45 mins before our show, which is still okay since the theater was a block away. I enjoyed the well made Veal Marsala, which was huge. Keep in mind that food is served in family style portions. The Penne Siciliana was also huge, but nothing special. We also asked for a Caesar Salad, which was decent. With 25 minutes to go, we said okay to checking out the dessert menu. Unfortunately, 10 minutes passed by before our server brought it over. We simply couldn't afford to chance another delay and just asked for the check. Paying for the bill took almost another 10 minutes, which made us rush to our show. Btw, the shrimp and mussels were not removed as we had asked for. We weren't going to fight it. Like I said, well priced Italian restaurant that serves decent food. Just wish the experience would have been a bit smoother.
