They called the dealership and found out there were some recalls and gave us info on how and where to tow. They welcomed us into their lobby and offered us free drinks for us and our dogs while we waited which by the way was the fanciest auto shop I've ever been in. Since we are 11 hours away from home we had to get a hotel room around the corner. I had asked if they had a cart or something to help us transport all our belongings so we didn't have to go back and forth carrying our stuff from our car to the hotel. A gentleman by the name of Michael offered to help transport our stuff in his car and told us about the town. I always check with Ashland Automotive 1st, but for the last few years they are consistently The Most Expensive; even more expensive than the Dealership for the same services. On top of that, I dropped it off with a full tank of gas, took them over a month to get it back to me, and the gas tank was empty? There's no explanation for a full tank of gas to be gone, with them just doing test drives or starting it to idle, they clearly did something else that used a full tank of gas, in a car that's extremely fuel efficient. I'd gotten an extremely high quote from another Ashland mechanic and was considering doing the work myself. Valley View Auto Repair quoted a very fair - and much lower than the other outfit - price and were able to do the work the next day. When I picked up the car, the bill was less than they had quoted me, as the scope of needed work was less. And the car is perfect again! I really believe these are some honest mechanics that want to do right by their customers. I will be back next time something goes wrong with one of my cars.

We were in Ashland, Oregon when the Check Engine light came on in my car, and we needed to drive…read moreback to California. We just weren't sure we could get home safely. We called TC Chevrolet and spoke to Sean (not sure if I'm spelling his name right) in the service department, who told us he didn't have time to get us in for repairs, but that if we brought the car in he'd let us know why the Check Engine was on. Long story short, we got there and he came out, plugged in his diagnostic and told us it was related to actuators for the oil pressure, which was fine (and had just been changed, too.) He cleared the error and told us in his opinion, it was safe to drive the car back. It was running pretty well, but that annoying light had me worried.... until he explained everything to us. We got home safely. The light came on again on the way home, but the car ran fine. And then the light went out, and has stayed out. Car is Happy. I am Happy. :) I am grateful for his help and assurances that the car was okay to drive. He didn't charge us for his service (which took maybe 2 minutes, but dealerships, we all know, do like to charge for services rendered). It's nice to know there are really nice people out there who go out of their way to help others. Stellar, is how I would describe my experience with TC Chevrolet.

Well, I haven't forgotten it, he is a moronic jerk in my opinion, and a worthless tow driver. Guys like this aught to stay home, rather than starting trouble, he should have slept in and skipped work. This guy is wholly inept, and a real liability to his company.
