    Preparing the ribeye for grilling!
    Peggy B.

Best meats in Carson City! If you are unsure how to prepare, they can give recommendations! Cooking, seasonings, sides...they have it all! Beef, chicken, lamb, pork, venison, bison...many choices! My ribeye was fabulous! I always keep some of the Battlemountain burgers in my freezer for a quick dinner! Alway satisfied with my choices there!

Very good meat collection. Just like when I was a kid. Old fashioned service. Hands on help.

    Do they sell beef fat/suet?

Do you sell pork belly if I order?

    Yes. Fresh side

    Do they sell lobster/lobster tail?

    No seafood sold here

Do you accommodate meat cuttings and marrow bones for dog feed?

They used to have the best dog bones. We just moved back to the area and were excited to get our dog a treat. I asked for the smallest thing they had and was given a bag of Fred Flinstone meat hunks. Just doesn't work for a small dog. Not sure if…

Alec Crosby was recommended to me by my favorite butcher, George, when I reached out interested in…read morebuying a share of beef in February. Alec raises his cattle in Fernley so super local, the cows are happy cows not trucked to feedlots at the end of their life cycle. They have good lives, these are the things that I appreciate as a meat eater. And yes I do know all beef is finished on grain, but there's a difference in mixing grass and grain in fields etc. I ordered through his website, super easy. I got a 1/4 of beef, after trimming and cutting, I ended up with around 110 lbs of beef. The percentages of certain types of meat described on his website, ended up being spot on for me. Yes, I wrote down every package, weighed them and created a spreadsheet haha. The packages came wrapped in saran wrap then butcher paper with a stamp of the type of cut. I like knowing what the weight is so a print out sticker with that would be preferred personally in the future, but I just wrote the weight on each package. I kept in touch with Alec and he was very adamant about quality and my happiness He said if it wasn't anything less than amazing, he'd get me a new one. I have the messages for proof, but to be honest, even if I wasn't 100% happy, I could never do that to a small business over possibly small qualms. He cheered me on when I sent him some pics of my first meals with the meat I got from him. He is a young guy, expanding his long run, multi generational family business. On Facebook he showed that he was opening up a store front and I couldn't be more excited for him and for Reno. This is a dream basically, to have local sources of meat, in affordable prices. And I appreciate his ability to take a chance and try to bring back some of the good things from older genertions like neighborhood butcher shops. I suggest giving him a try when you need a butcher or want a beef share for the family if you have the room. It ends up being incredibly worth it cost wise in the long run even though it can be intimidating for an upfront cost. In the end, we have been going through our beef pretty slow, I still have around 50% of it left, and haven't bought beef at a store since February. I've eaten some new meals, cooked cuts in new ways and learned to like hamburger again (because this stuff is tasty and not close to store bought). I haven't had any bad cuts, and I feel so good eating this beef, supporting local business and new generations.

The butcher called on the date given and was very helpful in guiding me with what I wanted the most. Keighley, who was handling the delivery contacted me the same day to secure the delivery day and time which was 01/01/24 at 4:00. She reverified the day before delivery to confirm all was still good and delivered on time. I was so impressed with how professional, friendly and dialed in the entire team was. Great communication!!! I can't say enough good things about this company and I will continue to use them and let others know about how great they are. Going to try the Korean Ribs tonight.

I was in the South Lake Tahoe area and walking around with my husband and our friend on a Saturday morning. When our friend looked up different places in the area to see what might be worth checking out, he mentioned that there was a smoked meats place. Immediately I was down to check it out. As we walked in, we were greeted by the employee behind the counter and a variety of jerky options in the case and along the walls. I tried a handful of samples before it dawned on me that the flavors and products seemed so familiar. I was completely oblivious that there were photos and references to their original location in Bishop (which I visited previously and really liked). I got a 1/4 lb of the sweet and spicy brisket to snack on and it made an excellent driving snack.

We got a few good ones, habanero, teriyaki and original. Store was impressively clean! My wife had to remove me or we'd be broke highly recommended if you love jerky, live nearby or are just vacationing here in Tahoe.
