This is a great place if you are craving Indian for an affordable price. They have all the major staples: Butter Chicken, Beef Vindaloo, Paneer, Chicken Korma, etc. You can either have the dish on Roti which is their specialty or the rice. Personally I prefer the rice. The butter chicken on fries was also fantastic. It's basically Butter Chicken poutine. They also have really good appetizers. Their avocado fries are very yummy and their take in the pani puri chat (sorry for the spelling) was very unique and tasty. Their mango lassi was also quite good. I was lucky enough to try different samples of their food. The staff was very friendly and make sure you go upstairs to eat. The interior of the restaurant is quite nice.

On Instagram, I had good luck last month and won two coupons for roti at Butter Chicken Roti at this location. I remember seeing all the delicious rectangles of butter chicken roti showing up on my feed and wanted to give it a try. The fact that I could have two orders to enjoy made me incredibly happy and thankful. I made the journey down to Corktown on a Saturday afternoon. I parked in a parking garage on the same block and walked in. This location is right across from George Brown College. It's convenient to get your roti or East Indian fix if you are a student or are in the area. Staff here are attentive and friendly. A man behind the counter assisted me with my order. I presented my coupons. He asked what spice level I wanted. I typically start with mild and work my way up. I had one roti in the eatery and took one home. I also grabbed a bottle of Diet Pepsi from the open fridge. This fridge has dessert items, such as rasmalai and gulab jamun. This place accepts cash, as well as debit and credit cards. I paid using my debit card and all went great. Each butter chicken roti is made to order. I heard the man yell out, "16!" I had order 17, so I was anxiously waiting for my food as I had secured a seat by the window. I had my Diet Pepsi there as I continued taking photos of the eatery. You do need some patience as you wait for your order. Well, the couple with order 16 decided to sit where my Diet Pepsi was. I wasn't impressed, but everything worked out for a reason. I took my bottle away and moved to a communal table. The woman looked at me with a smile. This couple, at this stage, had moved for the second time. I had barely been here for ten minutes! I will say that the stools and bar table aren't the best setup. When I sat there, I felt that the table was too high to truly eat my meal properly. I was glad that I moved to the communal table, as the table height was perfect with the chair. Finally, my order was ready. The man asked if my order was for dining in or taking out. I said that one order was for me to chow down now and the other would be takeout. He was so great putting cutlery on my tray with my butter chicken roti. He also carefully put my other order in a bag, with cutlery and napkins. I sat down and chowed down. The order 16 couple had moved again to a table across from where I was sitting. They only ate half their food, packed it up, took a photo of their mango lassi with a digital SLR camera, and left. Ah, I love people-watching on a casual Saturday afternoon! I opened my rectangular box and loved how my roti looked. I sliced through it. The chicken roti is white meat. There were huge, generous portions of chicken in every bite. I was impressed. For years, I ate white meat chicken only. These days, I like a mix of dark and white. I am thinking that this roti would taste even better with dark meat. Still, the butter chicken sauce was delicious with the chicken. There were a few morsels of potato. For those who crave potatoes, you may be disappointed, as the ratio of chicken to potato in my roti was 3:1. I was pretty happy with my meal. The mild wasn't spicy. Perhaps I'll go with medium next time. I'm surprised that I ate the entire massive roti. I ate half of the other roti for lunch today and was full. Heating it up the day after is even better, as all the flavours have time to hang out and mingle. The women's washroom needs help. It's an old building, so stalls are narrow. The sinks also have blotches of rust which is a turnoff. I like the look of this eatery. The food is yummy. Each butter chicken roti goes for $14, which could be steep for students. I'd come back again and sample more items on the menu. (151)

I hope this is not what people think Indian food is suppose to be. Very disappointed. The roti was absolutely dry and the butter chicken tasted like a stale stew. If anyone wants to experience what real authentic Indian food is then please DONOT go here.

Not a huge fan of the food as I didn't find it to be FRESH or authentic. Food: we ordered butter chicken on rice and butter chicken with Roti. The Roti was HARD AS ROCK so it clearly was not freshly made and we saw it being taken out of wrapping and reheated. Butter chicken was decent and the chicken was moist. Good flavour but definitely altered to Western and bland palate preferences. Rice was good! Service: average service...nothing special and I don't get the hype. I think it's because there were FREE give aways to the public and influencers driving content creation. Beautiful interior and quite a few seating areas.

I've been here a few times since they opened a couple of weeks ago, and for a chain restaurant the roti is actually pretty good. This used to be a cafe and has been completely renovated with an open concept layout and plenty of seating. On my first visit I had the classic butter chicken medium hot. The server told me that their medium is pretty spicy so I took her at her word. It was perfect for me with just enough of a kick, and there was a decent ratio of chicken, potatoes and sauce. The roti itself was perfect and not too dense - ideal for soaking up the remaining sauce at the end, and I left VERY full. At $15.76 with tax this was not cheap but I definitely wasn't hungry for the rest of the day. On my second visit I decided to try the tikka masala and went for medium hot, despite the server's protests. By the second bite I was already sweating but it was actually delicious. The tikka masala had a wonderful savoury taste and the extra spice wasn't too overpowering. Again, I left completely full and at $13.50 this one seemed like the winner in my eyes. It's also possible to get your roti with rice which is nice, and they have lots of vegetarian options such as eggplant, chickpeas and spinach & potato. Overall this is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood and has certainly become popular in the short time they've been open. Pro tip: You can order online for pick-up, either on their website or on Ritual.

Hospitable environment and delicious food! The crew here are very kind and the food is fresh, hot, and delicious. I had the classic Butter chicken Roti and the street food Papri Chat, which I could eat many helpings of because it is so delicious! The portion for the Roti was large, I was able to eat the other half another time. The Mango Lassi is a must try! Definitely give it a go!

As a lover of spicy food, of course I got the hot!! Butter Chicken roti! And thankfully it did not disappoint. The portion size is really big but I also got it with some plain rice and it was the best decision ever! Overall it was warm and delicious and definitely worth your money!

Came back for more Butter Chicken Roti! I bought my friends over to let them try out the signature rotis and samosas at Butter Chicken Roti. Super satisfied by the huge portion of the roti, it was so big and filling that we all agreed it was definitely worth the price. 1 roti potion js actually big enough to share between 2 people. The butter chicken was creamy, warm, and flavoured nicely, and had a nice mix of soft potatoes with it. Then all wrapped up to serve inside a soft thin roti bread. My friends who are vegetarian also got the vegetarian option which replaced the chicken breast with cotton cheese (tofu-like texture, but cheesy taste). Their samosas are delicious sides to get grab with the roti! super crispy, yet has a warm and soft curried mashed potato filling on the inside. Butter Chicken Roti - $13.95 Samosa - $1.65

Midway through the painfully slow setup process, the entire store started filling with the scent of something glorious. Rich spices, buttery warmth... it was the kind of smell that stops conversations. Everyone working there was Indian, and they were all clearly just trying to wrap up my account so they could dig into whatever just got delivered. I had to ask--where's that food from? "Kothur," they said, almost in unison. That was the recommendation, and it stuck with me. I walked by the place once. The exterior didn't scream "hidden gem." Thought about ordering delivery a few times but never followed through. Life, you know? Today, I finally went. From the outside, still nothing to write home about. But walk in, and it's a different story. Clean, cozy, and exactly the kind of no-fuss Indian spot you'd expect to stumble upon in the heart of a big city. The food? Solid. Spices landed right. Everything was warm, comforting, and satisfying. It's not trying to reinvent Indian cuisine--it's just doing it well. If you ever find yourself sniffing the air near a phone shop and wondering what that divine smell is--it might just be Kothur. TL;DR Not flashy. Surprisingly good. Smelled it before I tasted it. Worth it.

I love indian food so I was excited to try the Goat Xacutti as it's something new but it ended up tasting exactly like the Chicken Tikka. And the Chicken Tikka didn't taste like what Chicken Tikka usually tastes like. They both tasted like and amalgamation of every curry all mixed together. It was flavorful, but there was no distinct flavor. The Bhel Puri was yummy, but they served us wayyyy too much for only a party of 2. The garlic naan was fine. I also ordered the sweet lassi, which was tasty. The seating was fine and they had a coat rack which was nice. It's open late (till 11pm) which is convenient and why I might come here again, but otherwise the food did not stand out to me at all.

Unfortunately, lots of places in Toronto who make promises of serving biryani teleport you to hell. My friends and family are lifelong fans of biryani. Of all the places Biryaniwalla is highly recommended and I have usually had it at get-togethers. This time though I decided to visit the place and order a take out personally. Located a few meters away from Bathurst station , the restaurant stands amongst other Asian eataries. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Ankita at the reception. We asked her for recommendations and she patiently explained us the options and advised 2 biryanis based on our spice tolerance and preferences. Taking her advice, we ordered: - Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket with double Masala for $43 ($39.99 for Biryani and Double masala pay $2.99 extra). - Palnadu Chicken Biryani ( $18.99) Ambience wise, the place is pretty chill with neatly lined tables for family and the huge Biryaniwalla Logo adorning the big wall. There was also a spin the wheel game, which you can play if you place a google review. While we waited for our order, the shop was quite busy with mobile food delivery orders. After about 10 minutes, we got our order and took it home. Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket: This is possibly their bestselling biryani. And I have to confess, I have tried it before and I absolutely love it. It is a delicious biryani , with nice moist chicken pieces, cashews and which is not too overpowering with spices. We ordered double masala because my better half likes it that way. The quantity for bucket was huge and can easily satify 3-4 people. Chicken Palnadu Biryani: Compared to Kaju Ghee Roast, this one is more tangy and a bit on the spicier side. It is a slight Achari taste and it was surprisingly delicious. Also, you get Salan (spicy-tangy gravy) and Raita (yoghurt mixture) with the biryanis, and they go quite well with the biryani. However, i somehow still felt the biryanis lack that authentic taste of biryani that you get in India and Pakistan. Real authentic biryanis have the inherent smoky flavor which comes from coal which is used to cook biryani and to give Biryani the dum ( pots are sealed and cooked over slow heat with coal - at bottom and at top.) Also missed that Birista that usually accompany Biryani layers. That being said, these are quite good biryanis. To foodies: Possibly the best biryani restaurant is toronto, that gets it as close to the authentic taste. The biryanis are delicious and they have lot of other options including seafood biryani. The quantities are huge and you and your loved ones will truly enjoy To management: Great biryanis. Great service by Ankita. Would love if you guys can sprinkle some birista ( fried onions) at the top layer or provide it on the side. Also it would be great if you can provide some incentive for customers who order directly from store. I knew you once had 10%.off , which when I asked was told it's still on but you need the offer card. I was a bit let down by that because at the end, it's just a formality. Also spin the wheel if you place a google review is a cheap tactic to get reviews. Just do it as a fun activity guys. Creates goodwill. As a brand strategist , I always recommend customer experience over a few dollars Overall this is a great place for biryanis. I definitely recommend it.
