    Hot and heavy biscuit

I'd heard so many great things about Butter Punk, and knowing how much I love butter and biscuits, I had to check it out and glad that I did!! This small café tucked into the River Arts District blends right into the neighborhood spot serving some seriously delicious buttermilk biscuits. The interior is warm and inviting, with a separate coffee bar and pickup counter where you can watch fresh biscuits being made. I was pleasantly surprised to see Hong Kong milk tea on the menu! It's not something you'd expect to find at a Southern biscuit shop, and it's a fun nod to Asian flavors that pairs surprisingly well with all that buttery goodness. I chose to sit by window on stool counter so I can people watch locals walking the street! :)) I recommend planning your next visit to support this place! Oh and service is great!!

Heading back east after a mountain lake fishing trip, I knew a good breakfast awaited me in Asheville. Why? Because it's Asheville and food's kind of a thing there! Parked, checked Yelp for someplace I'd never been and up popped Butter Punk. Great call, Yelpers! Got an OG Breakfast Sammie with added sausage, a latte and both were top notch. The biscuit was excellent and the soufflé egg, amazing! The sausage was a little too sage-forward for me but that's a personal taste thing only. Someone who may have been the owner checked on me and she was very friendly. They've been open a year now and have my best wishes for continued success in the River Arts District.

Top-notch biscuits in a vibrant and airy spot on the edge of the River Arts District. We stopped in on a busy Sunday afternoon, and every staff member and customer looked like the coolest member of your favorite indie band. But here's the most important thing: The food is good. The biscuits are appropriately buttery, and they don't fall apart when you pick them up. The bacon wasn't as crispy as I would've liked but it was flavorful and paired beautifully with the tomato jam. Definitely recommend this one.

Friendly and greetful service. You order at the register before claiming your seat! Grab a number and seating is family style. Clean and cutely punked out! I ordered the biscuits and mushroom gravy with sausage and egg. So Hardy and comforting. Homemade sausage has great flavor

FIRECandied Bacon or Sausage? No wrong choice on the OG breakfast sandwich. The biscuits and Gravy are amazing. Don't let a small line out front deter you, it means Butter Punk is open and they mean business. 5/5 stars

I'm not a southerner, but the biscuits & gravy here may very well turn me into one. I had a biscuit with mushroom gravy & candied bacon. Man did that work up my day. So delicious! Truly comfort food. And I got a flavored latte. The seasonal flavor escapes me, but it sure was good, lol. Another incredible restaurant in Asheville.

Wow-A crispy on the outside, soft and buttery biscuit with an egg and cheese soufflé was SO GOOD! I wanted to cry when I was finished.

Such a cool, little establishment. The service was quick, the dining area was colorful and fun, the workers friendly and the biscuit and egg sandwich was pure buttery heaven!

Stopped by while on a trip in Asheville. Solid spot for breakfast/coffee. The staff was kind and greeted us and didn't feel rushed to place our order. The biscuits themselves are very different from the traditional southern, fluffy or flaky biscuits. Still good, their recipe is a more crispy, crackly biscuit with sweetness to it if you are fan of that type. There are various seating arrangements but I wish it could have been a bit more organized. It's pretty much find your seat when you can - my party as well as two other couples that were waiting behind us were waiting for seats to open up. One table did, but the latest patrons that came in just so happened to be standing there and it kind of sucked they "jumped" all of our waits and took those seats. Outside of how seating is, good & unique place to try out. Would recommend.

Finally got to visit butter punk & I'm still dreaming about the biscuit I had. I got the OG breakfast sandwich with sage sausage. It had a homemade biscuit, aioli, a soufflé egg, sausage and cheese. YUM. I don't know what kind of magic they used to make the egg but holy cow it was perfect! Can't wait to go back!

OMG this is by far the best biscuit I've had in my life. I honestly didn't want to stop here because I'm on a diet and didn't want biscuits. But this was the stop and I got the bblt which was omg delicious! The candied bacon. The tomato jam. The buttery biscuit. I ate every bite and even got a to go box with an extra biscuit to make tomorrow for breakfast along with a butternut squash scone and a double chip cookie (chocolate chips and potato chips) which I cannot wait to try. If you're reading this and deciding whether or not to stop, just do it. It's worth the carbs.

Someone recommended Butter Punk to me as an amazing biscuit. It's a cute location in RAD with a good amount of seating and fun wall paper and little china plates. Overall I think I like my biscuits more fluffy and less crispy, but also the whole sandwich came off very fatty and greasy. The crispy on the biscuit comes from a bunch of butter (yeah I know it's in the name so you get what they tell you) but for me it was too much. The mayo spread they put on it kinda made that greasiness worse. I will say that the soufflé egg on it was phenomenal and I'd eat that alone. I also ordered that special hash brown and I didn't care for it either since it was 90% onion and 10% potato.

Sooo tasty! Had the regular breakfast Sammie with candied bacon and it was perfection! Whatever kind of seasoning they added to the butter was so tasty and the biscuit had a perfectly cooked golden outer layer. There was a line to get in but it did go relatively quickly. Not a ton of seating inside but cute decor- very Instagram worthy! Staff was friendly enough but they just took your order and served food at the counter. Signs up to bus your own biscuit, I mean table. Definitely a new fave!

Delicious biscuits. We had the OG with bacon. Their homemade jam was great. The staff is friendly. The line is long, but well worth it.

As of when I was last there early July 2025, the only GF/DF options would be the drip coffee, espresso, cold brew, tea, fried egg side and *maybe* the sausage patty. I didn't see any main food items that were GF/DF unfortunately, but they are a…

She said it was the best shaved ice she's ever had and way better than any she even had in Hawaii. I was intrigued and suggested to my husband we stop by after dinner one night. This cafe is soooo cute. I'm here on vacation and trying not to work, but if i needed to work for a few hours I would definitely go here. I'd work and eat one dessert after another. The mango shaved ice was even better than expected. It was ginormous and I was full from dinner, but did a pretty good job eating most of it because it was too delicious to stop. My husband got a piece of blueberry cheesecake and i couldn't help, but have a few bites of that as well. I was hoping to make it back a second (or third) time, but sadly don't think we are going to have time. Another reason to come back to Asheville and it may just be my first stop!

Loved their menu as well. Although their mini cakes and other treats appealed to me as well, I opted to try their Taro Shaved Ice (they had 2 other flavors as well...think Mango and Mocha?). Well, their Taro Shaved Ice was PERFECT!!! The shaved ice was nice and dry, and the toppings (Boba, Lychee jelly, and Strawberries...even whipped cream on top) were generous and delicious! LOVED the place...and I can't wait to return! My husband will absolutely loved their version of Shaved Ice...What a treat to come!
