Note to self: Take pictures. Stopped by for a quick bite before dropping a friend off at the airport and wow--was this an experience. We were seated very quickly and drinks orders didn't take long to fill. I didn't catch our waiters name but he was a younger man and very friendly! He seemed pretty stressed out, however, which seemed reasonable during Sunday brunch hours! His service was probably the highlight of the experience mostly because the food was so beyond lackluster. Now, I've seen a lot of reviews comparing this to a Denny's or IHOP and it isn't far off. The atmosphere inside is dated, but some people clearly like that charm, so I won't dive into the subject. Our food arrived in good time and when I saw it... I'll admit it looked great! I was beyond excited. I had ordered a Turkey Avocado Melt with a side of onion rings and I honestly couldn't wait to dive into it! Sadly, the onion rings were a REAL big problem. My first few tasted fine but I unfortunately found that the majority weren't edible. I'm not one to spit things out at restaurants but I had no other choice. It tasted like some sort of cleaning product; like something that shouldn't be edible. I was a little concerned about the taste but took the chance on one more with the same nauseating result. I love onion rings so I was a little bummed I wouldn't be able to enjoy that part of my meal. I don't have a real complaint about my sandwich as it was pretty tasty in comparison. I should mention I'm really not one to send food back or complain to a waiter/waitress so I understand things CAN be made right. I think my experience is probably very similar to others though and I just really wouldn't write home about this one. It does seem decent for an older audience though. read more

The greeter is usually prompt, if she's not on her phone with her back facing the door, the servers are nice for the most part, even though they take a long time to bring you your food or any other items you ask for that they forget. The food is hit and miss. One day you can order a plate and it's piled with nice hot food, the next time it seems like it's a tv dinner. My last experience was the Turkey plate, felt like it was out of the can, didn't even taste like Turkey, the potatoes were cold, the biscuit was cold and hard, they forgot the cranberries, which they seem to do every time I order the Turkey plate. It was not a good experience. I instantly regret paying $12 for that plate of cold slop. read more

Went in around 11pm, busy but only a 5-10 minute wait for just one. The hostess was very nice and they greeted at the door They seated me in the back, not a big issue. But had 3 bust boys starring at me over half my time. Plus due to little room, I seen every waiters backside on my table. The table was not wiped down at all either. I ordered the ultimate breakfast, came out within 10 minutes. Everything was freshly cooked, the hash browns and eggs were the best of everything. The so called thick hickory bacon was nothing special. The small stack of pancakes were good. My waitress was very tentative and my water stayed full. I've been to Village Inn a few times, and it's a nice chain. I think it's better than Denny's and the people have always been really nice. Our server, Steffani, was great. Very friendly, fast, courteous and attentive. We couldn't have asked for a nicer waitress. My girlfriend and I felt like eating breakfast for dinner which is always nice when a restaurant has an all day breakfast menu. We got the Crepe Lorraine and the Crepe with strawberry and cream. They were wonderful. The first crepe was a lot like Eggs Benedict all wrapped in a Crepe. The strawberry crepe was like a nice dessert. Together, we both got our fill of sweet and savory. I will go back for another round of crepes when I get the craving and happen to be in El Paso. read more

Haven't been for a VERY long time, won't be going back. Nice restaurant interior, same old crappy food. The tea had no flavor at all, glass of water tasted better. Had the fish sandwich special, coleslaw was soupy, cod fillets on sandwich were overcooked. Husband had the green chili bacon burger, only one tiny spot of chopped chili on the burger. Very delicious!! Fantastic service!! Just left the restaurant, had a great time with friends. French Toast, Strawberry Crepe, and a sandwich..(?) They were packed; right after church.. A manager was at the front helping greet and watch traffic flow. She mentioned that the kitchen was a bit backed up & the seating was delayed. My friend and I eat there at least 6 times a month. Useualy for breakfast , We had started going more recently because they started serving flavored creamer for Hot tea or coffee. So after a while you expect them to have it . Well the past few times they had ran out and not ordered it in time and said they were waiting on a truck. Then also stoped serving the English Breakfast I drink . If your going to introduce some thing once you should keep it in stock. The service has gone down hill. The help was rude also. Village Inn was better food. Had breakfast this morning, bought cheapest meal , "pick any four", for two people. Bitter coffee, cold bacon, hash browns fried in old french fry grease. Wassup Yelp! My usual reviews mainly judge the restaurants for their food. I really could care less what the place looked like, how nice the people were, yadyada, etc. etc. However, Village Inn, not just this location but all locations, overall provides hands down, The Best dining experience. What?! Now, I understand there is Cattleman's Steakhouse (by far, hands down, one of the best-for-the-price steakhouses in America) out in Fabens, Crave Kitchen and Bar (a nice get away for the few real big city hipsters), Tabla with the delicious tapas, and many more unique have-to-try restaurants in El Paso. I get it. There are amazing restaurants in El Paso. What the hell am I thinking saying VI is the Best in El Paso?! Well... None of them can compare to Village Inn when it comes to, The Overall dining experience. The food. Although not the best, is just Good Food. Good enough for me to go back again and again. Good enough that I crave it. The restaurant. Although not the fanciest or nicest looking, is never unkempt. It is a pleasing and clean restaurant. Not once, have I gone into the bathroom and felt dirty. If a restaurant goes as far as maintaining the bathroom, the restaurant itself is most likely kept pristine. The service. Best in town whether the place is busy and buzzing or quiet and sleepy. This place is a standard for professionalism, in the restaurant industry, heck probably for business in general. The hostesses greet you and seat you right away every time. The waiters/waitresses greet you and immediately take a drink order and aren't too far along before they come back to take the food order. The floor managers circle the restaurant and greet the customers, make sure their stay is pleasant at the least. They even cover down for the waiters/waitresses when they notice customers waiting too long or the waiter/waitress is bogged down at another location. Simply superb service. Plus, the female workers are all pretty, which is pleasing. Just speaking the truth. I like hanging around, seeing, and being with beautiful people! The Price. Very Reasonable. Decent portions that'll fill most human beings for under $10, throw in a drink and slice of pie. $15. That is not bad at all for Good Food. The Hours. I work days and nights so I do get hungry and want something in the early AM hours. Open until 3am on most weekdays and 24 hours on weekends. No other restaurant, cafe, or bar can say they have these hours in El Paso! Like I said, Best Overall in El Paso, might even be in general. Keep it up VI. read more

My second time coming here and Cesar rocked out like a crazy man! My tea never got half full around him. He made sure we were taken care of from start to finish! Samantha was the young lady working at the front. She was the coolest hostes ever! Smart lady with a great head on her shoulders. I was pleased to meet here. Michele runs a tight ship with customer service as her moto! She lives here and does not hide from anyone. Both times she was out and about checking on everyone. Food was good with no concerns! What a miserable experience. The place was run by a gang of unruly teenagers. We went for lunch at 1:30. While trying to eat, one of the gang was mopping, practically under our feet with some very strong smelling detergent, scraping chairs and table across the floor making all kinds of noise. Then from the kitchen they dropping pans and laughing like hyenas. They enjoyed it so much, they dropped more pans and then it sounded like they were throwing cutlery into bins. So much for a peaceful lunch. I asked for a box to take my sandwich home in...and I was tossed a big box, no wrapping. By the time I got home the sandwich was in 10 pieces and I threw it away. I sure miss Village Inn. Nope, not a single thought I those heads about customer service...none! Hair in the food! Upon starting to eat just as food had arrived there was hair in the skillet. Addresses it with manager and offered to remove the item from the ticket. So what was I suppose to do sit there and look at the person that I was with eat? We left. You need better training for your staff. Hair should not be a ingredient in the food. We just moved here and wanted to find somewhere to eat a decent breakfast and this is the place. Apparently this place burned down a few years ago so the inside is new and hip. We were seated promptly even though they were busy. Our waitress was very nice and was quick to get our drinks and take our order. Way better than iHOP! They don't have Village Inn where I am from. They have a lot of menu choices. I got the create your own, hubby got a skillet meal, and the kids got the Inns Breakfast. Food was hot and pretty good. Coffee was good, didn't taste old like other breakfast chains. Server was new, but he was very attentive. Our meal was pretty quick and the wait for a table was only about 5-10 minutes. They pies looked good, but I didn't order any. Maybe next time! read more

I love VI and come to this location quite often. They are always quick and friendly when I'm there. This past time I was with a large group of 15-18 people and every one of our orders came out correctly. How is that possible? It wasn't too busy when we were there so maybe that adds to the fact but they were awesome. I ordered the Cuban pita for the first time this visit and it was absolutely amazing!!! The pulled pork was tender and juicy, the way it should be. Not at all dry. I usually order one of the skillets or their French toast, which are also delicious. My friends got salads all around me but the lettuce and spinach leaves were actually really crisp!! Dessert!! Pies... Don't even get me started on their pies. I personally love sweets and baked goods so a slice of pie at every visit is a MUST. My favs are their chocolate pies. French silk or there's a new one called Caramel Pecan French Silk Supreme, which is basically a pecan pie with a French silk pie on top. It's a burst of sweet and sugary goodness. I have to eat it with coffee to set off the sweet. This one might be there for a limited time though. I highly recommend one of those. Banana cream pie and the coconut cream pie are good too. Not as sweet and the banana cream pie has slices of bananas. read more
