Italian Latin Bakery is an absolute gem. Everything here is excellent, but the cookies deserve special recognition. The rainbow cookies are top notch--perfect texture, rich flavor, and exactly what you hope for in a classic. I personally lean raspberry over apricot (purely personal preference), but either way they're outstanding. That said, my absolute favorite is the amaretti cookie. The almond is fantastic, but the pistachio amaretti is on another level. Truly one of my top cookies of all time--no exaggeration. I've been coming here since it was Marzullo's. I no longer live nearby like I used to, but I stopped in recently and was thrilled to find that it hasn't missed a beat. Just as good as I remembered. Love this bakery. This is my family's go to bakery. Everything that we've ordered has tasted fresh and delicious. Plenty variety... Cannolis, cakes, Napoleons, and cookies are all good. The cannolis are freshly filled when you order. So delicious. We ordered a gender reveal cake for my second child and the service was wonderful, the cake was delicious. Came here on a whim needing a cannoli cake for a bachelorette last minute. The round cakes go around $25 and can feed 10-12 people generously. It was good in the sense that it was last minute and they had availability at all times. I asked for some chopped nuts on the side for decoration (semi customized by me) and they nicely put it in a cup at no extra charge. Good variety of pastries. Come check them out! read more

Danger, danger, danger. Tired and hungry after a workout at L.A. fitness and craving for something to satisfy my sweet tooth. My body had a craving for cannolis and Sfogliatelle. A terrible nutritional faux pas but so sinfully satisfying. Marzullo came up on the Yelp radar with a short ride of less than 2 miles. A Pretty old school bakery and reminds me of the bakeries growing up in Corona Queens. I went into Sensory pastry overload as the cream puffs, tirsmisu, Napoleon and cakes were teasing me mercilessly to take them all home. It's my sorry excuse for being a fatty and a silent cry for help :) Since this is my first visit here I decided to sample the lobster tails with fresh cream and cannoli filling, Sfogliatelle, cream puff, chocolate custard eclair and a cappuccino. The gentleman serving us was awesome and gave us 2 chocolate cream puffs gratis for the ride home, grazie sir! My family enjoyed everything we brought and I would love to try their cassata and ricotta fillings and cookies next time. They've been in business for over 30 years so they must be doing something right. I may need to spend a little more time in the gym to burn more calories to enjoy these delicious baked goods, but so far it's definitely worth the extra sweat! read more

I dropped by to pick up a birthday cake for my son. The offerings were ok, but nothing that really stood out in a good way. I couldn't help noticing that several of the rectangular cakes were lopsided. Is this done on purpose? Ambience: decor was a little worn, with half the room cordoned off by tape, with some empty display cases. It reminded me of a crime scene. Food: I ordered a rectangular Napoleon cake. It was very rich and sweet. Not great, but not bad either. Service: the staff was friendly and helpful. read more

This bakery is no longer Marzullo's but has a new name, Latin Italian or Italian Latin, I forget which. Inside it looks very much the same, and the cookies and daily stock cakes are the same. However, I have two complaints. 1) they are out of bread as early as 7am on weekends. It seems logical to me that if you see you are running out of bread on specific days, you should increase the amount of bread you stock on those days. 2) we ordered a custom cake for the holidays and were charged $90. That seems excessively high for the size of cake we got and the area's pricing. It was far too sweet for the family -- that isn't the fault of the bakery since tastes vary from person to person, but there is an art to flavoring cakes, and a cake with less sugar can sometimes even be better, when super sweetness can mask other subtleties. This bakery is still okay for getting a box or cookies or picking a cake out of the display case, but I think it's kind of overpriced and not as good as under the previous management. read more

So i bought a few pieces of Italian pastries to try out. My box of pastries was $11 and it had 2 lemon cookies which were excellent, nice hint of lemon not too sweet just perfect to accompany my double expresso. The French lobster tale was probably one of the best I've ever had. The cream filling, inside tasted fresh, a bit sweeter than what i would prefer but the crunch. Now it takes a master baker to get the delicate, crispy, crunchy, savory shell done to perfection. I am going for they probably have been making them for a long time. The lobster tail uses the same pastry dough as the sfogiatelle, which is made with flour, water, sea salt and shortening but instead is filled with French cream, i know i will go back and get a few lobster tails for my family to try them. Now the eclair, pate chux is a delicate dough. Again, it takes a master baker time to get it done right. Pâte à choux, is a delicate pastry dough used in many pastries. It contains only butter, water, flour, and eggs. Instead of a raising agent, it employs high moisture content to create steam during cooking to puff the pastry. Which means that once cooked and filled it requires refrigeration. The eclairs are very sensitive to moisture once refrigerated. The eclair has good bones, the issue was more about the flavor of the cream filling in it. The filling was thick, with a heavy taste of cornstarch on the palate and very sweet. Seems difficult to get a good eclair these days but believe me they are becoming much more difficult to find. The chocolate glaze on the eclair was beautiful and it tasted good, now if only they could get perfect ratios for a light cream filling, then for sure we have a winner all day long. I also got a mini lobster tale filled with Ricotta cheese filling, the filling had a nice hint of lemon but sadly it was not moist at all and very dense on the palate. Now, i was thinking about trying out one of their cakes but i will pick one up the next time my family is celebrating a bday, since they looked beautiful on the cake display. If i go back, i am going for the kill with the lobster tails, truly awesome, delicious and decadent. read more

Outstanding Italian pastries. I was first introduced to Marzullo's through work. Whenever it was someone's birthday, without a doubt there would be a giant sheet cake with cannoli cream! There's lots of bakeries in the area but for true Italian pastries like sfoigliatella, lobster tails and cannolis this is the spot. The fill the large cannolis to order which most places in the neighborhood don't do anymore. This ensures a perfectly crispy bite. I ordered from this bakery via Uber eats. I ordered the $25 mix pastry on Crystal plate. It was sent in a box without a crystal plate. And the description clearly states that mini cannolis are included in the mix of pastries. There are no cannolis Or a crystal plate. When I called your store I was laughed at by your employees who are young girls. Then they told me oh we're not laughing at you were laughing at another customers in a store. Then I spoke to a man who is not a manager and he had no idea what I was talking about. And the young girl in the background was screaming that she always makes these trays and never puts in mini cannolis, even though your description clearly states that many cannolis are included on a crystal plate and again there was no cannolis nor crystal plate. I was treated poorly and did not receive what I paid for. The mix of pastries was not really a mix, 7 cream puffs and two tarts. read more

I will start this review by saying that I don't have a sweet tooth and I rarely EVER eat cake or any sweets. So the following is a testament so just how INCREDIBLE Marzullo's cakes are. I first discovered this bakery because my sister ordered a custom chocolate sponge cake for her baby shower and upon tasting it I could not believe how incredibly moist, soft and just absolutely delicious the cake was! It has the perfect amount of sugar, not at all too sweet (which I hate), is extremely fluffy and it melts in your mouth with very little chewing necessary. Their frosting taste so fresh and again, not overly sweet. Every part of the cake's consistency has been perfected. I proceeded to order a custom chocolate cake with french filling for my gf the very next week. The lady on the phone was extremely helpful and accommodating with my order. Great customer service and patient. And the cake I ordered: exactly the same in terms of extremely high quality and unbelievable taste which speaks to their recipes. Well, last week my elderly Aunt was thrown out of the store because she mentioned she received a spoiled pastry the week prior. Bakery / Cafe. Marzullo's is hard to miss as it is tucked away in a small strip mall with a tiny parking strip in front. They have all of your bakery goodies and serve breakfast as well as cafe type items. The walls are covered alternately with scenes of Italy and a few hundred pictures of celebrities- someone in there is a autograph hound. The bakery items are very good and the prices are actually a bit cheaper than the competition- it is getting rough when a damn cake can run you like $25 - at least at Marzullo's you can still get them for under $20 and they are just as good.
