Service is slow and this place is RACIST. My daughter and I were there waiting for like 10 mins, 2 workers were running around handing down drinks and sandwiches to the customers. After walking by their enticing display on multiple occasions, I finally decided to pop in. They have a full assortments of small tarts/pastries, French macaron, cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. We went for an order of spinach pie, mini cannolis, red velvet cupcake, and a slice of cheesecake. The red velvet cupcake was so disappointingly DRY and tasted like it had been in the display for a week. Cheesecake wasn't bad - just if you were expecting a rich, thick, and creamy slice, you'd also be sorely disappointed. Their cheesecake was more on the light/airy side.. not bad if you know what to expect. The cannolis were pretty good, standard crispy shell, filling not too sweet. I bought a Napoleon cake. I asked the attendant if it was fresh she responded that it was done today. I got home and I could even put the candle on the frosting was hard and the crust was so stale and it tasted terrible. I would avoid this bakery at all cost. I've gotten pastries and ready made cakes before and they were always delicious but never a custom cake until now. My son wanted an Octonauts cake for school so I was looking for a place that can do an ocean themed cake since I would get the figurines for the cake. I didn't want a fondant cake for 4 year olds. I showed the owner the picture of the cake I wanted and he delivered . We choose a funfetti cake with strawberry mouse filling. Very yummy and everyone enjoyed it. My husband and I were still craving that cake and when I asked my son what cake he wanted for his actual birthday he said he wanted the same cake. So we got it again :). Got the wedding cake from Elite pastries cafe, only because it was a part of the wedding package from the catering. We provided all the decorations to go on the cake. Alex charged me additional money for him to put the decorations on it. The flavors were not what we discussed and were really terrible. When I brought the cake to him after the wedding to show him that it wasn't what we wanted, he said, the cake already gone bad that's why it takes bad. The wedding was on Saturday, this was Tuesday morning and that's what the cake tasted like on Saturday. He did not apologize or expressed any regrets about ruining the cake part of the wedding. I called the day before and let them know what I wanted - the lady on the phone said she would prepare the name plate for me. I arrived early, there was no line and cake was ready with accurate name plate. Price was reasonable. I selected a tiramisu cake, because it was different than your usual birthday cake. While the flavor wasn't my favorite (was cinnamon heavy) and it contained more cream than "cake", it was still good and enjoyed by all. The miniature pastries were mouthwatering. After lunch at Thai Social, Val brought me to have dessert at Elite Pastries Cafe in Bayside. Between the two of us we had chocolate covered strawberry, pistachio macaron, fruit tarts and lemon meringue pie. Valerie drank a cappuccino and I had a single shot macchiato. Elite has a fairly large space with indoor seating nicely spaced apart and a unisex restroom. We had an enjoyable time. If you know the Bayside area, you know that Martha's Bakery is the big name brand "famous" bakery in the area, but this pastry and dessert shop should be just as well known and famous, they have delicious desserts and pastries that are way more affordable and reasonably priced. They have full size desserts ,and my favorites are the mini pastries. I get a mini blueberry tart, a mini Boston Cream tart and a mini Canolli every time I go in. They have chocolate covered strawberries also. They charge you by the weight/pound of what you purchase. They have coffees drinks also. They make cakes to order for special occasions. Their pastries taste fresh and delicious. There are two young ladies who work there in the evenings and they are very courteous and helpful. I hope a manager comes to help them lock up the store at night for their safety. Their store is across the street from Food town on Bell Blvd. I would definitely recommend it read more

What a find on a rainy night heading home; thanks to yelp; we jumped off the Clearview exp; waited about 10 minutes to get a metered parking spot directly in front of the bakery cafe ..... A local shop which has been in the neighborhood for over a dozen years. A lot of people prefer coming over here than go to to the overcrowded MARTHA'S COUNTRY BAKERY or THE FRENCH WORKSHOP further down the boulevard. Those bakeries are local chains with about 4 locations each. I purchased a Napoleon cake and an Oreo cheesecake. In my opinion both those desserts tasted very good. Bought a few pastries from this bakery as we were walking through the area. We had the Boston creme, cookies and cream macaron, raspberry macaron and mini fruit tart. The mini fruit tart was the most decent although the tart shell tasted store-bought. Both macaroons were a disaster, the raspberry especially had a very artificial/chemical taste. The Boston creme really didn't need the chocolate icing or caramel swirl on top, it was overkill and didn't mask the lack of flavour in the creme filling, the cake of it was too dense. Bakery/Cafe located conveniently on Bell Blvd.. has a large selection of pastries and desserts. Their variety of choices and different flavors rivals Martha's Bakery. Taste, however, is a whole different matter. I came in here one day cuz I was craving cupcakes, and my go-to cupcake bakery, Teaspoon, had closed for the day. Elite Pastries does not have a large selection of cupcakes..only about 6 flavors to choose from, including red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, carrot and some others. I asked the ladies working there, "When were these made?" They replied that the cupcakes just came out fresh like 15mins before I walked in. Okay cool. I bought 4. Now these aren't the small cupcakes that Teaspoon makes; these are fairly large cupcakes. Back in my car, I started on the vanilla cupcake. First the cream icing on top. HOLY CRAP, that sh!t was sweet! Now.. I have a sweet tooth. I LOVE cupcakes! At Teaspoon, I can easily eat a dozen on my own! But the icing on top of that vanilla cupcake was so sweet, it was borderline disgusting ((I'm not sure how to word it..hopefully that makes some sense..loll)). I couldn't finish it. So I used my spoon and scooped out the icing on top and proceeded to the cupcake itself. Dry as fcuk. Not good. Disappointing start. Next I try the chocolate cupcake. Same deal with the overly sweet icing. Scooped off the icing and proceeded to the cupcake. Not too bad. Moist, good chocolate flavor. So vanilla is crap. Chocolate cupcake tastes good. Now, I'm not trying to say this bakery is crap. This review is based solely on my experience with the cupcakes, and it only warrants 2 stars from me. I will definitely go back and try some of their other pastries and cakes. But no more cupcakes for sure! read more

The tiramisu was pretty good but the cheesecake was very mediocre and I was highly disappointed in it. There was barely any crust (which is crucial to a good cheesecake for me) and the flavor just wasn't there. The rainbow cookies and the other selection of cookies that they have are priced by how many pieces you get and it gets weighed. The rainbow cookie was dense but I liked it like that. It had a good chocolate coating on top with some type of cream between the layers. All of the options are affordable and there's also plenty of seating inside as well.
