Last year, in August 2024, I rented a 10x10 storage unit for $124.20. By the end of my lease, just over a year later, my bill had increased to $236.20. It is unacceptable that the rent for my unit was raised every 2-4 months, under the justification that your rates were "matching current market rates" -- a claim I believe to be inaccurate. In comparison, locally owned storage facilities typically adjust rates annually or every other year, not multiple times within a single year. Additionally, upon moving out, I discovered that the walls of my unit were marked as 9x10. I signed a contract for a 10x10 unit, and I believe I am owed a refund or adjustment if the unit I rented was indeed smaller than advertised. Between the continuous, frequent rate increases and the inaccurate unit measurements, I am extremely dissatisfied. I intend to report this matter to the Better Business Bureau and seek clarification regarding any refund or adjustment owed. Given the issues I experienced, I consider my time with this storage facility a regrettable use of a year, and I will not be returning as a customer ever.

After we met with the detectives, we came to find out this is not the first time this storage facility has been hit. Hint NO SECURITY!!! The day after the robbery, I received a call from Tricia (manager) to tell me that my payment needed to be paid and that they had a rate increase and she would be KIND ENOUGH TO WAIVE THAT FEE. How generous!!! Is this a coincidence or an INSIDE JOB??? I spoke to the District Manager Michael and he had the same attitude, NOT EXTRA SPACE STORAGE'S PROBLEM. When you have a move on a schedule, even 20 minutes could throw your schedule off. He processed the reservation quickly and had the truck ready in no time. I was also disappointed by the cleanliness of the truck. I get it that employees don't have time to clean, but with the ongoing pandemic, I would expect better cleaning processes.

Their reliability and ease of setting up the packing and move when I was not even able to be present and the timing was truly helpful. It was more expensive than I had ever paid for movers, even without the packing, and that's honestly why I could not give them full 5 stars. As a military member going through an honorable discharge to help my family in crisis while already injured myself, I had to empty out my own savings and my children's I had saved up over a 9-month deployment in the combat zone to move back to my family when they needed my help, not even sure if I could then provide for them. So while I really thank them for the job they did, I never financially recovered from that and I do ask Rock Movers to consider the vets or military members in San Diego and to complete a weight estimate for them to be reimbursed.

We stored there about a year ago and have to say the place is great I had a company unit for a few months, and it was the first time I used a storage space before. What was even better was to find that my son's baseball coach was there working and he was great he remembered me and my kids name. It made me feel very secure to have my inventory there with someone in the community that I already trusted. I ran into coach Chris a couple of days ago and was happy to hear he's still coaching and that he's still working for Butterfield Storage. I would recommend this place to anyone who is in the area they are friendly, secure, and involved in the community if I ever need storage again I will be back. read more

I have had my storage at Butterfield Ranch for almost 3 yrs and have had no issues. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. Available for questions or comments ant anytime. Other storage facilities in the area didn't have some or all of the security measures that Butterfield Ranch has implemented. I felt safe leaving my belongings in their hands. If I need a storage facility in the future, I will be sure to come back to Butterfield Ranch Self Storage. I will also recommend them to anyone I know who is in need. We are moving and needed temporary storage for our belongings while in between homes. The staff at Butterfield Ranch Self Storage were extremely patient walking me through their available units and pricing for each when I called. Then, I visited their location a few days later to get a unit and found a different, yet equally pleasant, staff member to help me book my unit. Was helped by Angelina Andrade and she was very helpful and entertaining during the paperwork, which didn't take long since everything was computerized and received email with all docs before I left the office. This storage location is great! It is a beautiful brand new facility with an awesome management team! They have just recently added spaces for parking r.v.'s. I have been to several places with rv storage and the room to drive is never sufficient. This place has a very large area for r.v.'s, boats etc. They also sell packing supplies. The managers live on site and it is a very secure and safe site. read more

What a fantastic facility with amazing customer service. I was able to hold a storage locker and Gus was more than friendly, informative and professional- he was able to give me a lot of tips on moving, local companies who help and generally supportive. I had an indoor storage unit and spent my entire Saturday…read moremoving everything out and wiping down all of my belongings because they were covered in rat feces. What makes this even worse is that no one notified me about the issue. I have children, and now I have to worry about possible health risks from exposure to rat droppings and viruses. Thankfully, the rats didn't destroy my property since I don't store food in the unit, but that does not make this situation acceptable. Now I'm left without a storage unit and dealing with a disgusting mess that could have been avoided or at least communicated properly. I've attached pictures so people can see for themselves. Do not rent here unless you also want to deal with rats. What a shame.
